listening to a "obscure" music is wonderful until i want to actually know anything. anyways, the album on spotify is listed as being released by the edition: freispiel label (whose parent label is freibank), but on discogs and bandcamp the label is listed as klangbad. and on bandcamp they actually seem to only have the 2003 demos of the album, not the album itself. and that doesnt go over the fact that there is only this one album on spotify. an e wayzzz, something something god i hate streaming services, why and how are your databases always so ridiculously wrong

Im vergangenen Sommer feierte unser Hörspiel "Raben" auf dem Klangbad-Festival-Premiere: Jetzt könnt ihr das Werk unter dem Titel "raben | no feeling is final - Livehörspiel - Klangbad Festival 2024" auf YouTube, Spotify etc. sehen. Der Link dazu ist sonst auch in meiner Bio!

Mit unserem Stück durften wir den Sonntag des Festivals beschließen. Die drei Rabenschwestern wurden superb gesprochen von @bibi_malon & @christina_pirker & @lauramaria_hpl. Der Live-Soundtrack kam von @lukas_fraktal & @jan__wagner & @hans_joachim_irmler & @heppelerchristof. Entsprechend funktionieren die 30 Minuten Stück sowohl als Theater, aber eben auch als Konzert und als alles dazwischen!

Darum geht's: Drei Rabenschwestern haben der Menschheit den Kampf angesagt und beginnen mit kleinen Nadelstichen eine Art Revolution der Natur. Diese Konstellation bezieht sich konkret auf zwei Meisterwerke der Popkultur: Einerseits Hitchcocks »Die Vögel« (in welchem sich die titelspendenden Tiere gegen die Menschen richten), andererseits Otfried Preußlers Roman »Krabat« (in welchen sich die Protagonisten immer wieder in Raben verwandeln). Aber auch Populärliteratur wie Frank Schätzings »Der Schwarm« taucht als Zitatverweis auf.

Umspielt wird die Handlung von immer wieder entstehenden Soundwelten des Rabenorchesters, welche den Dialog in die unterschiedlichsten Szenarien treibt. Dabei treffen die Krautrockelemente aus Hans-Joachim Irmlers selbst gebauter Orgel, auf die beinahe zärtlichen Ambientschichten von Jan Wagner und die asynchronen Noisemomente von Geräuschemacher Christof Heppeler. Auf dritter Ebene werden animierte Sequenzen der Künstlerin @monikanuber13 durch die Zwischenräume zwischen Text und Musik flattern.

Jan Wagner is a piano player, producer and sound engineer. He’s been playing the piano since the age of 5. With his personal work he explores a simplicity of expression, one that maximises the emotional truth of each composition. He’s fascinated by the music hidden beneath the surface: overlapping overtones, textures and the sounds created by the piano’s intricate mechanism. Herzliche Einladung zur Ausstellung. Aufgrund der aktuellen Situation findet keine Eröffnung statt.

Was hören wir nach dem Tod? Wie sprechen wir über ihn und wie gehen wir mit den damit verbundenen Gefühlen um?

Ausgehend von der Erforschung der Klänge im Sterbeprozess, interviewt Anna-Lea Weiand seit Ende 2020 zahlreiche Menschen verschiedener Hintergründe und Länder. Aus diesen Audio-Aufzeichnungen wählt und kombiniert sie Fragmente und Inspirationen, und erarbeitet schließlich ein Kaleidoskop der Fantasien und Wünsche über „das Danach“. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden dabei die unterschiedlichen Stimmen, welche durch die individuellen Erfahrungen der jeweiligen Menschen geprägt sind und uns diese spürbar vermitteln.

Anna-Lea Weiand versteht auch den Wewerka-Pavillon als Resonanzkörper und verleiht ihm eine Stimme indem sie ihn als Klangkörper der Zwischenwelt nutzt. Durch die Soundcollage versetzt die Künstlerin das Glas des Pavillons in Schwingung, welches nach außen als Klangbad auf die Passant:innen wirkt. Das Innere des Wewerka-Pavillons verbleibt hierbei nahezu leer und wandelt sich zum Raum der Fantasie und Vorstellungskraft. Er wird zu einem Transfermedium, zu einem Ort der Auseinandersetzung mit Tod und Sterblichkeit, Angst und Leichtigkeit.

im zuge des musikkunstprojekts „das gegenteil“ trifft die experimentalband „die hunde“ (konstanz / donautal) auf den berliner independent musiker bayuk und die klangbadköpfe hans-joachim irmler und jan wagner – die drei pole des experiments haben noch nie zusammengearbeitet. der rahmen der kollision ist aber klar abgesteckt: innerhalb von nur einer woche sollen aus krach & rauschen popskulpturen geschnitten werden. der vorgang des skulptierens wird der bildenden kunst entlehnt und auf die musik übertragen. ort der arbeit ist das legendäre faust studio in scheer, ehe das finale produkt ebendort und in konstanz präsentiert wird. der schweizer undergroundrapper DAIF macht den anheizer.

»Raben | No Feeling Is Final« ist ein Livehörspiel-Projekt des Autoren Jeremias Heppeler in Zusammenarbeit mit den Sprecherinnen und Autorinnen Barbara Marie Hofmann, Christina Pirker und Laura Maria Heppeler sowie den Musikern Hans Joachim Irmler (ehemals Faust), Christof Heppeler, Lukas Fraktal und Jan Wagner und der Bildenden Künstlerin Monika Nuber. Solid Steel (5th May) Our guest in Hour 1 this week is Pangaea, who is one third of the team behind Hessle Audio alongside Ben UFO and Pearson Sound. They are celebrating 10 years of the label which has been constantly pushing the boundaries of electronic music and they will be heading to North America next week for some shows as part of Hessle’s 10th anniversary. Pangaea released his debut album 'In Drum Play' last year on the label and can be found more recently on remix duties for Patrick Conway on the Rekids label and Trus'me which is out on Prime Numbers. He had this to say about his mix; “This is basically an upfront club mix with a few twists and turns.
