heart pounding whenever the other does so much as to hold onto their wrist while guiding them through a crowd
"Have you ever been to a planet with more than a hundred people?"
Merrin's question hangs heavy in the air. Mosey thought that the answer would be clear as day: no. Mosey's never left Koboh. Mosey's never thought about leaving Koboh. Not when she's got so much tying her to her home here. The relative "fame" she's gotten here (if she can call it that), as their rancher, as their animal handler, as the one who would take down whatever beast got too close (until Cal had come along). But all this is on a planet that, yeah, had just about 100 folks living on it. Give or take all of the Raider’s.
"I haven't no. Never left Koboh all my life," Mosey admits and she loves the way her chest feels when Merrin gives that look. That look is an ever so slight smile, and a glittering glint in her eyes. It makes her cheeks warm and makes her push her shoulders back. "You look like you wanna bring me somewhere."
"I do, yes. No axe needed for this one."
"Seems far fetched."
"Trust me."
And Mosey did. She's always trusted Merrin since she showed up. Anyone who was willing to aid in protecting a place they'd never called home out of their own volition with no requests in return was a person that could be considered an ally. And an ally Merrin became.
Seeing the Stinger Mantis and being in the Stinger Mantis is a whole different experience. It's way nicer than inside the saloon, and it gets a little whistle from Mosey. And it looked like everyone was coming along: Merrin, Mosey, Cal, Bode, Kata, and Greez. Though, Greez she understood. It is his ship.
Mosey did keep to herself in the corner though. While she knew everyone, she only knew them somewhat. She didn't know deep seeded fears, or personal motivations, or connections with the others. At one point Kata came over to her and drew at the table, scribbling down with crayon as she kicked her feet. What she drew was a nekko, a pretty rare purple one at that, giving it to Mosey as a treat before finding the little droid to rush off and play with.
Cal made idle chatter as he did, Bode joining in. The two were close, able to find each other's space and link arms or hands, bump shoulders as if it were second nature to them. Mosey hadn't even liked it when Cal got too close to her in the saloon, stepping back usually. She couldn't remember the last time that she'd been hugged or touched like how Bode and Cal do. And yet… she wished she had someone that she could exist so easily with. Without fighting, without an ulterior motive, without any caveats. Just someone to hold. Someone like…
Merrin.
Merrin, who just… watched.
From up in the front, Mosey always knew when eyes were on her. And this entire trip, those deep, mysterious, witchy eyes, were on her. It must have been from how obviously out of place Mosey looked and felt on the ship. But Merrin never approached her, never brought it up. Merely watched. It was a little creepy, Mosey wouldn't lie. But in a way, she liked it. A lot.
When they get to the planet, Mosey furrows her brow. It's nowhere near as pretty as Koboh. It's dusty, and hot, and well, full of vendors. It's full of vendors. The closer they get, the more and more people Mosey notices. It's crowded. So crowded that Mosey's pretty sure the entire galaxy is here. She's never seen so many people. And it’s a whole slew of different sapients, all mingling in between each other, the vendors, and everything else in between.
They’re getting a day here. Be back before sundown. That’s the rule.
Greez parks the Mantis. Kata gets up on Bode’s shoulders and Bode laces his hand with Cal’s, BeeDee on Cal’s shoulder. Mosey is left standing at the bottom of the ramp, staring out as she takes in the new sounds, the new sights. She knew the saloon could be loud, but nothing could have beaten the sound of this marketplace.
Merrin comes up beside Mosey, taking in a deep breath. She looks over, that same expression she had before the trip. A slight smile, and a glint in her eyes. What Mosey expected was maybe a tease, in her own Merrin way, or a nudge towards the never ending crowd. What she wasn’t expecting was Merrin taking her wrist, and starting to guide her through.
It was immediate: Mosey’s cheeks going dark with color, her heartbeat slamming against her chest. The world around them didn’t exist, blurring to frame the night witch that led her through people; sliding between gaps and shouldering or bumping those she needed to. Mosey was transfixed. Enchanted. Her focus was solely on Merrin and the warmth her hand brought. Each little twitch of her fingers to grip tighter, or the subtle movement her thumb gave to the palm of Mosey’s hand.
Oh, her heart wouldn’t stop skipping beats or being so, so loud in her head. There was no calming her heart at the touches she’d known she wanted but never sought out. While Merrin, so easily and effortlessly, took her hand. Mosey has never had her hand held like this, let alone held at all. And of all the times that she’d thought about it, fantasized about it, dreamt of it, the way Merrin held it blew all those thoughts out of the water.
No matter what stall that Merrin brought them to, no matter how many people they walked through, no matter where they stopped or kept moving, Merrin’s hand never left Mosey’s wrist. If they hovered, Merrin’s thumb stroked along palm and thumb, hand migrating down to the back of Mosey’s.
And soon enough, their fingers were laced. Mosey couldn’t hear anything over her own heartbeat. She’d not been able to fully experience the marketplace around them, the people, the smells, the sounds, the foods, the stalls, none of it. Her focus was on Merrin. How making her way through was just second nature. Mosey blinked and the day had gone by; Merrin having never left her side, nor ever let go of her hand.
When they got back to the Mantis as the sun started to move closer to the horizon, Merrin finally turned and smiled at Mosey.
“You look like you had fun.” Her tone was filled with teasing and Mosey hadn’t even been able to say anything in return. She was just… in awe. It got a small scoff of a laugh out of the witch as she leaned down from the top of the ramp to the bottom where Mosey stood, tapping the tip of her nose. “Let’s get you inside, rodeo girl.”
And as Merrin moved to get back on to the ship, their hands slowly separated. Mosey found her heart still in her ears, her head, craving for more.
She hopes it will happen again.

The reason skykestis hit me that hard is, I think, the whole “hope” motif. A Cal & skykestis essay ahead. Jedi fallen order & survivor spoilers, look out.
Cal’s a Jedi Padawan who barely survived the purge because of his master’s sacrifice; he’s been hiding on Bracca scrapping ships until found by Inquisitors and escaping with the help of a former Jedi Master Cere and her pilot Greez. Together they embarked on a mission to find the Jedi holocron containing locations of force-sensitive children in hopes to restart the Order - quietly, in shadows. Ever since, Cal’s been fueled by hope. It guided him, it was the source of his power: he reclaimed his old abilities and was rapidly gaining new strength. By the end of the Fallen Order he’d dealt with two Inquisitors and beat a former Jedi Master Taron Malicos, who, unlike Cere, did not sever his connection to the Force, but fell to the Dark side and was actively conquering Dathomir. (I bet Maul was on a business summit on Nar Shaddaa at the time, otherwise he wouldn’t have tolerated Malicos). Anyway, upon finding the holocron and realising the danger that its existence was for the force-sensitive children, Cal decided to destroy it. However, this victory only encouraged his devotion and love for the Order, which he never stopped missing.
In the years to come his self-imposed mission was to stop the Empire. I see little mention of it, but we know for a fact that by 10 BBY he’s become the most wanted man in the Empire. The bounty for his head was so large that he could never stay in one place, actively hunted by the imperials, mercenaries, and criminal syndicates alike. He worked with Saw Gerrera and became Saw’s “sword” (or rather “lightsaber”), making the resistance a force to be reckoned with. His team split up - Greez retired and opened a cantina on a remote world of Koboh, while Cere deceived Cal, saying that she’s retiring as well but instead she went to develop a secret network to help force-sensitives and those who sympathised with resistance - the “Hidden Path”. She used Cal rampaging around the galaxy as a distraction and a shield to help her quietly establish the Hidden Path. Cal knew nothing of it, though. He believed that he was the only one of them left fighting. But he could not quit - it would be a betrayal of his love for the Order and his hope of one day restoring it.
Throughout all these years and the second game he was actively discouraged to fight by his companions, who’d been telling him to stop, take a break, lay low, but it was something he could not do:

I know Jedi Survivor for some reason wants to make it look like Cal’s just fighting to avenge his lost people, but, knowing the original Star Wars universe, I see it as not him being misguided and desperate, but rather guided by hope - so strong that he still finds strength in it after years on the very front line. And, of course, by the Force.
Again, none of what he did was futile, despite the Empire’s optimistic reports. I understand that it was him, together with Saw Gerrera’s military prowess, that made Rebellion a possibility, and he was the reason why by the start of the Force Unleashed in 17-18 BBY Vader and Emperor both were so concerned about the rebels that they even sent Galen Marek, aka Starkiller, to lure them all into a trap. They hoped to finally kill Cal, but by then he’d taken permanent residence on the hidden world of Tanalorr to hide a force-sensitive child, Kata, so no one could reach them. Cal and Saw’s reputation drew imperial forces and the Emperor’s attention, letting other Jedi like Eno Cordova, Rahm Kota, Shaak Ti, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and also rebels like Cere Junda, Merrin, Lothal cell with growing Ezra Bridger, survive. Unfortunately, it also made the Empire angrier and angrier, tightening the grip on the Senate, which is extensively addressed in A New Hope. But it was Cal and Saw’s doing that started the Rebellion. Galen Marek later completed it, gathering the Alliance leaders together, Ezra Bridger supported it, sacrificing himself to kill Grand Admiral Thrawn, all laying foundation for Luke and the others’ victory.
The end of Jedi Survivor is controversial. Throughout the game Cal’s strong in his belief and conviction. He’s a Jedi, despite being completely alone in doing so. But everyone he knows keeps telling him to accept the end of the Order as he knew it and start a new life. Everyone - except Bode, a new crew member. Cal instantly warms up to him. Of course, Bode ends up slowly talking back to him, too:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Abandon your way, embrace a new, easier one.” Sound familiar? Yeah, Bode ends up being an imperial spy and a Dark Jedi, who kills Cal’s friends and sets Darth Vader after them all. This breaks Cal - in a way, and he surrenders. He goes to hide on Tanalorr with Merrin and the others. And he starts struggling with the Dark Side. He’s losing his way. He’s losing the Order - and himself - from his vision. In his heart he still longs for it sincerely, desperately, but what can he do when he lost so much and so many, and the remaining want him to surrender? He’s giving up the galaxy to the evil, betraying his very nature as a Jedi. The conflict tears him open. He becomes unbalanced. The hope in him dims. But it’s still there. His hope is the root of his conflict, but it is also the root of his strength, it is his very heart. Will he destroy it, passively living out his remaining days, waiting to die? Will it destroy him, twisting him to the Dark Side, making him destroy what’s left?
Or will he listen to it, as he did - always? Will he, a conflicted Jedi Master, try to teach force-sensitive Kata, and find his way through his teaching, hear again the will of the Force?
What if one day he dreams of a man in a black cape, holding a strange black-and white saber over a small green creature; of legions of imperial troops marching through peaceful towns; of twelve bacta tanks crammed in one room, with identical shapes inside, so heavy in the Dark Side, filled to the brim with the will to tear kill maim burn, and a programming typed on their screens: destroy Luke Skywalker!). What if, troubled by horrible anticipation, he returns - and where were burnt worlds exhausted by tyranny, finds a newborn republic…
And there, on a remote planet - a young man, struggling to build a temple with a tiny green apprentice?
For Cal Luke is not just “hope”, but hope realised, the embodiment of something you’d been fighting tooth and nail for - come to life. He is the proof that Cal’s way was right and righteous; he is the proof that every battle was worth it. He is a hope for an even brighter future. He is the purpose and the meaning. Post-ROTJ Luke is the Order, despite being just one scarred young man. He is balance and peace. He is home Cal’s been fighting so long for.
On the other hand there’s Luke, who’d recently completed fighting a war. He’d mourned his aunt and uncle who raised him, his Master Obi-Wan, his Master Yoda, his father; he’d been travelling around the galaxy first to stay alive, then to find traces of others who stayed alive - only to learn that he truly is the last of his kind. His whole world is now his temple (which he’s slowly building. It’s not like he’s got much money. Or experience building temples) - and Grogu (who’s still learning to talk but is always very eager to help, which is why Luke is doing twice the work to plan, build and simultaneously keep his little apprentice away from the rather dangerous construction site). They cannot take more students: it is too dangerous now. He feels loneliness - the same kind he saw killing Yoda - overtaking him. His only guests are mercenaries sent by Moff Gideon, or notorious Boba Fett making attempts at his life, who’s sent by Moff Gideon, or old imperial TIE fighters sent by Moff Gi- well, you get the idea. It is expected. But it also makes him feel, despite the welcoming, sincere whisper of the Force, that the huge galaxy wants him gone. It has forgotten the Jedi. He will persevere no matter what - for his Master, for his lineage, for Grogu, for the Order he’d never seen but loves so much, but it takes a toll on him. Leia, who finally visits him, notices with concern how he stopped smiling. She also tells him what he’s been noticing in the Force for a while: the situation in the galaxy is changing; imperials gather troops massively, they’re organised now, as if something encourages them, as if they think they have a chance against the young republic. They’re preparing to strike. That means - Luke will be going to war soon, again; leaving the small temple he’s built for Moff Gideon to rampage through, again; sending away his Grogu, again, - the boy’s father, who’s very busy with bounty hunting work, will not be happy, but Luke would rather let his whole planet burn than endanger Grogu even for a second and bring him to a battlefield. The future seems like a burden; he prays that they’ll not be crashed by it. Grogu is eavesdropping on his conversation with Leia. Luke lets him. When he exits, the boy attaches himself to Luke’s shirt and does not let go until falling asleep in the evening. As if to mock Luke, the Force, despite all terrible prospects, despite all the facts, seems light and merry.
The next morning at dawn Luke is outside. He’s already finished with his own training and meditation, and is doing some light yoga while waiting. It’s time for Boba Fett’s routine assault. Boba Fett is probably not aware that his assaults are addressed as “routine”, but the Force warns Luke well in advance so that he’s able to make his schedule work. He wonders what it will be this time - lasers, smoke bombs, or some aggressive creature? Strangely, Boba’s eleven minutes late. It’s not good: they should start on time to finish before Grogu’s morning meditation. Luke stretches his senses. Slave One is in the orbit; it bounces from side to side, as if playing tag with someone, then slips away. Instead, there’s another ship. There is something about it that makes Luke stand up, throw his robe on; it tingles the back of his neck, and there’s a knot in his throat that he cannot swallow; disoriented for a moment, he grabs his lightsaber, searching the sky until his eyes hurt. He commands C3PO not to share their coordinates with the approaching ship, then withdraws the command; then repeats it. But the ship does not need coordinates. Soon it emerges from the shining clouds, a sleek form, and starts towards the temple in a perfectly straight line.

(Not written yet, just writing down an idea)
Jangobi AU idea featuring:
Mand'alore Jaster Mereel lives until 32-33BBY
Enemies to lovers Jangobi
Mandalorian & Jedi Obi-Wan
Mandalorian & Force sensitive Cal Kestis
Mandalorian & Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker
Mandalorian Omega
Dualsex Stewjoni Obi-Wan & Mpreg
Triplets Boba Fett & Omega & Cal Kestis
Space cowboys
A year before the events of The Phantom menace, 24-year-old padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master Qui-Gon Jinn are sent to Mandalore to broker peace among Mandalorian factions on the brink of war.
The negotiations are difficult and tensions are rising. Not just between the factions themselves, but also between the young negotiator, and the son of the current mand'alore. 33-year-old Jango Fett.
As negotiations start to fail, and several assassination attempts occur, it becomes ever so clear that there is no simple resolve for Mandalore and civil war is imminent.
The tensions between Jango and Obi-Wan are rising as well, first hating each other at opposite sides, but slowly learning to work together and seeing one another for who they really are.
Things come to an end when Jango declares his love for Obi-Wan. (nine months after meeting him, 3 months before the phantom menace) The two consummate their love. Meanwhile, war breaks out and Jaster Mereel is killed by Clan Vizsla.
Eventually, the new Mandalorians win the war, with Satine Kryze as the new ruler of Mandalore.
Jango Fett and his clan, what's left of it, is displaced to the planet Koboh. For no other reason than I wanna write Mandalorian bounty hunters that are also space cowboys.
Events of the phantom menace occur, Qui-Gon Jinn is killed on Naboo, but in a twist of fate, the council decides not to train Anakin.
Feeling like he has no other choice, Obi-Wan leaves the Jedi council to train Anakin himself and uphold his promise to Qui-Gon.
Twist number 2, turns out Obi-Wan is pregnant with triplets.
Obi-Wan leaves Coruscant with nine-year-old Anakin.
And along his journey in training Anakin, frees Schmi Skywalker from slavery. Meets a group of young Mandalorian foundlings that used to be from Clan Mereel but were displaced during the clan's exile ranging from 17 years of age (Cody/Kote), 16 years old (Rex), 15 years old Hunter, 14-year-olds Crosshair & Tech (twins) and Wrecker, 12 years old Echo & Fives (twins).
Together with only Schmi to control and guide a ragtag team of teenagers, A pregnant Obi-Wan has to find his way in a tumultuous galaxy until he inadvertently makes his way to Koboh and reunites with Jango.
And that's what I have so far.
I also don't mind if people run with the idea for art or fanfiction, but I would appreciate a link, if you do. And an inspired by would make my day.

instead, cal had stumbled over his own question, lost his footing in the exchange, and continued to trip over words as though he hadn’t thought about this moment countless times before. because he had. days of idle thought, devoted to precisely this scenario. granted, most of that thinking happened while bored out of his mind in hyperspace, trapped in the monotony of a supply run from jedha to koboh to tanalorr, so maybe the absence of more pressing concerns had left him too much time to contemplate.  to envision.  to script, again and again, the way it should have gone.
and yet, despite it all, cal’s face brightened with sudden enthusiasm.
❝you do?  that’s great!  that’s. . . that’s really great.  because i—uh. . .❞   the young knight hesitated, glancing over his shoulder just as BD-1 whistled excitedly and launched from his perch. the droid’s thrusters sputtered in bursts, then stabilized, guiding him down to tanalorr’s pale soil in a controlled descent.  cal murmured his usual thanks—an absent, familiar habit—and shrugged off his old, well-worn rucksack, dropping it to the ground.
inside, an assortment of seed jars and flowers spilled into view—fresh and dried, vivid and fragile—along with neatly bundled roots, gently cleaned and preserved for planting.
it had taken years to gather. a slow accumulation from distant worlds, collected in moments of reverence amid surrounding chaos, each discovery carefully tucked into the rucksack’s ever-filling pockets.  cal never considered it a possession in the conventional sense, and certainly not something valuable.  yet as he looked down at the years of travel laid out before him, a wave of quiet contentment settled in his chest.  every one of these plants, found by chance—sometimes in wild, untouched places, though more often in the charred remains left behind by the empire—would one day have a new home.   somewhere better.  somewhere safer.
Tumblr media
❝i guess it’s just. . . i like plants.❞  his voice, softer now, carried no less sincerity as he cradled a clump of damp roots in his hands, his thumb tracing over yellow hairs as if memorizing their delicate form.  ❝i know that probably sounds kind of dumb, but. . .  i’ve seen whole worlds lost.  people, cultures, entire histories—just. . . gone.  it’s easy to feel like nothing good lasts.  but plants. . . they’re stubborn. they grow in the ruins, in the cracks, in the ash.  it’s proof that life doesn’t give up.  and that keeps me grounded.  gives me hope.❞
for a moment, only the hush of tanalorr filled the space between them. BD-1, evidently less patient, hopped in place, then whistled in confusion. cal only rubbed the back of his neck, apprehensive—uncertain. no, he hadn’t decided which one to give dagan. would dagan favor the inisa, an elegant flower with soft, delicate colors?  or would he gravitate toward something wilder, something untamed and defiant, like the sficca with its riotous colors and thorn-laced stems?
❝i thought. . . maybe you’d appreciate that too.❞   the words came quietly, but with less hesitation.  cal exhaled, then extended a cluster of firethorn blossoms—freshly picked from the garden on koboh—toward dagan.  ❝i wanted you to have these.  if you want.  if not, BD-1 and i can always find a nice spot to plant them instead.  i don’t know.  or maybe we could. . . plant some together?❞

Resuming another session of Jedi Survivor today! I'm not sure where the solar winds will take me, but I'll be returning to Koboh in search 9f a compass allegedly capable of guiding the way through the Koboh Abyss. The only problem, however, is that Dagan Gere also seeks this compass.
Is a confrontation between these two headstrong Force users imminent?

Guide (Jedi: Survivor)
Cal struggles with painful flashbacks from the last time he rode in an escape pod, and tries to find a way out, back through his memories. Cal x PTSD, Order 66 flashbacks, Jedi: Survivor spoilers, angst, coping. Thank you to @stardustandash for the encouragement! And thanks to this scene for the subtle reminder that Cal's PTSD continues to affect him. ~1100 words.
-
Cal stared at the bay of escape pods, the area still pristine despite the fact the Lucrehulk’s wreck rested in the dankest swamp he’d ever encountered.  Rows of panels in sterile white and gray loomed ahead of him.  He took a deep breath.
Republic or Separatist, there were some ways that all Clone Wars ships looked the same.
“Safest way outta here,” said Bode, flashing a grin.
Cal looked away.  “You sure about that?” His chest tightened, heart rate climbing steadily.  He tried to ignore the feeling.  You’re fine.  It’s fine.
“No,” Bode shrugged, looking calm and unflappable as ever.  But why shouldn’t he be?  The pods should clear them of the wreckage, get them back to town sooner and safer than trying to get Zee through the swamplands.  It was a good idea.
So why did Cal feel like he was getting into a coffin?
“Okay then,” Cal said stiffly.  He paced back and forth in front of the pod door. It was a narrow space, but he rounded it three times before the door slid open.
Zee’s head swiveled back and forth between him and Bode.  “You seem nervous,” she said brightly, then turned to Bode. “I’m going with him.”
Damn it, Zee.
“Hop aboard, Zee,” Bode said, ushering her safely into the pod.  He gave Cal a funny look that broke into a smile.  “See you at the outpost.”
Cal nodded, swallowing.  “Yup, I’m coming.”
The open door yawned before him.  He climbed inside, smelling duraplast, transparisteel, stale mechanical air.   For a moment, he thought he caught a whiff of blaster scorch, but the pod was unblemished.  It had clearly never seen battle.  Not like --
He sank down onto the seat, knowing he had only a moment before launch.  BD-1 clambered up to the seat beside him, peering up at him in concern.  Funny.  Bode hadn’t seemed to notice he was off at all, but both the droids knew.
Not that there was anything to know.  It was just old baggage, wasn’t it?  Nothing to be afraid of, or at least, that was what he kept trying to tell himself.
Cal pulled the restraints over his lap and buckled them, pressing back stiffly against the seat.  “I hate these things,” he admitted to BD.  He waited, tense.
The pod jerked heavily in its launch, and Cal’s fingers gripped the seat, tightening until they shook.  He breathed faster, sharp shallow breaths.  This is different.  This is Koboh.  We’re heading back to the outpost.  Nobody’s after us -- we’re safe -- I’m safe --
But the pod lurched and rumbled.  “I knew it,” he muttered, cold dread seeping into him.  The turbulence hurled him forward.  He was thrown back hard into his seat, slamming against the wall, head cracking against the hard surface.  He flung his arms up over his face to brace himself, screwing his eyes shut -- and he was thirteen again.
It was too much.  Master Tapal’s powerful lightsaber, too big and heavy for Cal’s small hands.  Cal’s cheek and neck, throbbing from a blaster bolt; his lungs burning for air after the running, after the smoke.  His heart, beating frantic and painful in his chest -- the disbelief, the confusion, the fear --
I’m safe --
Master Tapal’s eyes clouded, forever opened -- his strong, brave, wise face slack in death -- and Cal sobbing like he had never wept before, the cries tearing themselves out of his chest and mouth with a violence that scared him --
I’m -- I’m --
The escape pod jolting and sputtering around them, slamming Cal into his master’s body -- he scrabbled for the Force, tried to hold onto it, to hold onto his master -- but the connection hurt like it never had before, a wound that filled him up, that threatened to tear him apart --
No --
And then, lost in the pain, he could hear her.  Cere’s voice, steady and calm, a different memory opening up and washing out the terror of that last, awful day.
Cere, sitting on the bunk across from him in the Mantis, her face filled with compassion after waking him from a nightmare --
Cere reaching out, taking his trembling hands in hers, and the Force a shimmering bridge between them --
Cere, patient and gentle -- “Breathe, Cal.  Reach out, and find the Force.  Trust in it to guide you through.”
He breathed.  In, and out.  In.  And out.  Cere’s encouragement echoed in his head.
A memory is only that.  You are stronger than memory, Cal.  Let the Force guide you back to Now.  I know you can do this.
He reached for the Force, desperately and clumsily at first, but then the connection strengthened, smoothed, became as natural as breathing.  It was here, here in this escape pod fired from the Lucrehulk; it surrounded the pod and BD-1, reflected ripples and waves from the viscid bog; he sensed people down below, creatures stirring in the muck, plants clinging to the jutting rock, earthen spires and wafting winds.  It was here, in him, in the blood carried through his veins, nerves innervating muscle and flesh, bones keeping him braced in his seat, heart and mind filled with a fear that was slowly, slowly fading.
Trust only in the Force.
Cal shakily lowered his arms, still working at keeping his breathing under control.  He looked around, half-dazed.  The pod shuddered to a stop around him, and BD beeped and burbled at him in concern.
Cal blinked.  I’m here.  I’m safe.
The Force is with me.
He unbuckled his restraints, hands wavering only a little on the buckle.  He got to his feet unsteadily, and BD leaped to his shoulder, settling into his familiar spot.  Cal took a few steps, feeling slightly better with each one.  He slammed the hatch controls and the door opened.
The familiar sight of the misty bog greeted him, and Cal inhaled, only grimacing slightly at its foul, fetid stench.  Right now, he’d take any smell over the stale air in the pod.
“Remind me to never do that again,” Cal said to BD, taking another deep breath.
He brushed the hair out of his eyes and fixed his attention on a path out of the muck.  A few leaps here, a grapple there, a brief wade through the bog…  He had this.  At least here he’d have more control of his journey, propelled by the Force and by his own body.  A much better option.
He spared one last glance at the escape pod.  Thanks for getting me out of my head, Cere.  Maybe he’d tell her, next time he saw her on Jedha, how she’d helped him.  How her teachings had always helped him.  The gratitude settled into his chest, a far more welcome feeling than the fear that had crippled him a few moments earlier.
“You ready for a ride, Beedee?  Let’s get the hell out of here.”
“Brrroop,” BD trilled, excited.  The little guy did love Cal’s tricks; he wondered if that daredevil nature was something that had always been in his programming, or if it was something BD had picked up from his time with Cal.  Cal smiled a little at the thought.  It was a good one.
Yeah.  He was okay.
Cal flung himself forward into the air, and the Force was waiting for him.

Star Wars OC Bio: Skaara
Name: Skarra
Species: Gen’Dai
Affiliations:
Luke’s Jedi Order (formerly)
Space Pirate (formerly)
New Jedi Order (currently)
Description: Skaara was born a hundred years ago on Koboh to a family of Gen’Dai merchants but with a gift-she was force sensitive. This resulted in her nearly being considered for the Jedi Order but her family ensured that they hide it. For years, she saw the republic rise and fall while living the simple life but wanted to fight for the glory of it thanks to the influence of Rayvis. She missed her chance to fight when the rebellion came into full swing but was simply left to guard her family’s shipments and saw the end of the Empire on Endor.
One day, she was guarding another shipment but were attacked by desperate Imperial remnants where she used her force abilities to fight them off as it gained the attention of Luke Skywalker after she was arrested by the New Republic. Skarra joined the new order as her family saw him as the one to bring true peace to the galaxy and Skarra became one of his students where she constructed her lightsaber and became one of the instructors as well. She and about 60 other students survived the fire in the temple and decided to go on the run as a space pirate until she encountered Rey…
Personality: Skaara is a fun loving yet tenacious and vicious Jedi who found glory in combat despite her pacifist parents. This range of emotions led to concern among the students as she was out and open about her feelings as feelings were prohibited by the Jedi Code. She still kept her nature and saved many students, guiding them back to their families or helping them find places to hide in.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor players devastated by game-breaking bug
Tumblr media
Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorA Star Wars Jedi Survivor bug is leaving players distraught as they are left unable to progress in the space action-adventure game. If you’ve managed to dodge all the Star Wars Jedi Survivor performance problems and are enjoying exploring its planets to uncover the story and find all the Cal Kestis cosmetics and outfits, you’ll want to make sure to avoid this game-breaking bug with one handy tip from those who’ve been hit by it. This Star Wars Jedi Survivor Chamber of Duality bug has left players trapped inside the chamber and unable to leave, meaning they cannot continue playing the game. That’s particularly devastating if you were able to avoid the wealth of PC problems that have left developer Respawn apologising for negative Jedi Survivor Steam reviews. The Chamber of Duality can be found on the Jedi Survivor planet Koboh, and tasks you with a puzzle to overcome. However, players warn that, upon completing the trial, it’s imperative that you immediately save your game after leaving the Chamber of Duality by resting at a meditation point. Dying after leaving the Chamber of Duality without having first rested will cause you to respawn inside the chamber, but the exit will be closed and you’ll be unable to leave. If you’ve encountered this bug and are trapped inside the Chamber of Duality in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, unfortunately it seems like your only solution for now is simply to wait for a patch from EA. Thankfully, EA community manager ‘EA_Kent’ says “We appreciate the reports on this. We are aware and investigating.” Hopefully this means a fix is in the works, but in the meantime Kent recommends attempting to load your last save. It’s no doubt frustrating for players to lose access to their saves, so hopefully this public service announcement serves as a way to save you from despair. Once you’ve saved your game by resting, you’ll be free to go back to revealing all Star Wars Jedi Survivor scan locations, finding all Star Wars Jedi Survivor Blaster parts, and continuing the story of Cal Kestis, BD-1, and their companions. Those of you hit by this bug or the numerous other issues might instead fancy a Star Wars Steam sale to bag a few bargains on other great Jedi games from the past. If you are still playing, our Star Wars Jedi Survivor walkthrough and guides should ensure you don’t miss a single thing. Alternatively, take a look at the best space games to explore more galaxies both near and far, far away. Read the full article
