Hi! I have a question, in the fanfiction “The chance you didn’t take” by Ronja do Katniss and Peeta ends up together? I’ve heard it’s one of the best everlark fanfictions but I can’t read it if k & p aren’t endgame.

Unfortunately Ronja's "The Chance You Didn't Take" as written by the original author remains incomplete - though it did appear to be heading towards an everlark ending.

However, another author, Kris22, (@kriscme) has written some "alternative endings" to TCYDT, with Ronja's permission. You can find them on AO3. There are more details in this post.

I see mentioned in the comments, that many people would love an ending to “The Chance You Didn’t Take” by Ronja, a story which gutted us all.

Incomplete Fan Fics

When I started reading Everlark Fanfic I was only really interested in one particular niche: Cannon complaint, post-Mockingjay pre-epilogue. After reading probably the 74th version of the memory book I started branching out… not far, mostly to other cannon compliant Everlark fics… then to canon divergent… and so it began

Somewhere along the way I accidentally read an incomplete fic- Image my horror after staying up WAY too late to realize there was no ‘Next Chapter ->’ and there hadn’t been one in 9 years.

This was simultaneously devastating and exhilarating, because while I wish I knew whether authors intended ending, this story was a fucking delight.

Anyways…

Since then incomplete fics are some of my favorites. I have a list and I’m going to share it, starting with:

Lovefool by hotpielookedlikehotpie - this was said fic and the first Everlark AU I read.

It’s a romcom set in high school featuring your favorite Hunger Games characters acting pretty in-character

Bonus - there are outtakes! One of which: a prequel in Johanna’s perspective

Hi! I apologize beforehand if this is a dumb question triggered by my poor reading skills lol In THG, Katniss says that if Peeta dies she'll never go home. Instead, she'll spend her entire life in the arena thinking of her way out. So maybe I missed something, but I don't really get this statement. I mean, if he had died she would've been the sole victor so no problem there, so it rly doesn't make much sense for me or maybe she was just way too emotional when she said this. What do you think?

Katniss is being emotional. In a place and time where she isn’t supposed to feel these emotions, Katniss does. It really helps to feel and understand her pain because we don’t really want Katniss to become the Victor at the cost of these lives–especially Peeta’s. We also know that their lives are intertwined now, maybe as they’ve always been, but they’ve connected the dots and losing Peeta to the Games, would be also losing a piece of herself. She’d always be trying to with her out of that nightmare.

I don’t know if there’s one really good answer. And the more I answer, I feel like it’s tainted with my knowledge of their future. So I’m sorry if I didn’t really answer! 😄

I used to love ronja's stories and didn't know that someone was continuing Some of her stories. One of my most favorites was The project. Is there someone that continued that story? Thanks!!!

There isn't anyone that we know of.

If you will allow me to clarify something, Kris22 / @kriscme didn't continue Ronja's story "The Chance You Didn't Take". It remains incomplete and some day Ronja may choose to return and complete it and the rest of her works, including The Project, herself.

The stories Kris22 wrote were AUs written in the TCYDT universe. Ronja also gave Kris22 permission to post works in her universe.

Excuse me, but I was wondering if you could help me by telling me the right order to read the stories from "The Chance You Didn't Take" by Ronja universe (if that's how we can call it).

I've seen that another writer continued the story but I don't know where to start.

The original story is "The Chance You Didn't Take" (TCYDT) by Ronja.

Ronja also wrote a one shot in this universe, which is in Peeta's POV - "Lost Boy".

The original work remains incomplete.

However with Ronja's permission, the following "alternative endings" were written by Kris22 in the same universe.

(Alternative Ending 1) - "The Chance You Did Take"

This story picks up Ronja's story as if Peeta has gone through with the wedding to Lace, and explores Katniss' life from that point forward. It should be read directly after TCYDT.

(Alternative Ending 2) - "One Life to Live"

This story picks up earlier in Ronja's story and before Peeta marries Lace. It has a sequel also, "Twelve Years Later" - which Kris22 has just completed.

You can choose which alternative ending you wish to read first. I hope this helps!

Hi, I usually have a hard time finding fics like this, but I was wondering if you knew about any post mockingjay stories where Peeta recovers from the hijacking but looses romantic feelings for Katniss, so they have to start growing back together from scratch.

Hey! Do you know any other fics like "The Chance You Didn't Takec by Ronja where we for once have Katniss being the one that is more in love with Peeta while he's moving on, they may still end up together in the end or not. I just been feeling like I needed Angst...
