Excuse me, but I was wondering if you could help me by telling me the right order to read the stories from "The Chance You Didn't Take" by Ronja universe (if that's how we can call it).

I've seen that another writer continued the story but I don't know where to start.

The original story is "The Chance You Didn't Take" (TCYDT) by Ronja.

Ronja also wrote a one shot in this universe, which is in Peeta's POV - "Lost Boy".

The original work remains incomplete.

However with Ronja's permission, the following "alternative endings" were written by Kris22 in the same universe.

(Alternative Ending 1) - "The Chance You Did Take"

This story picks up Ronja's story as if Peeta has gone through with the wedding to Lace, and explores Katniss' life from that point forward. It should be read directly after TCYDT.

(Alternative Ending 2) - "One Life to Live"

This story picks up earlier in Ronja's story and before Peeta marries Lace. It has a sequel also, "Twelve Years Later" - which Kris22 has just completed.

You can choose which alternative ending you wish to read first. I hope this helps!

I think it will start when Peeta mistakes Katniss's meaning when she tells him she loves him and that he considers her a family member. In TCYDT she lets it slide. In this story, she'll make it clear what she means. She won't get the response she hoped for. After that, it's anyone's guess. Including mine.

I did! I actually had already read ronjas stuff before I asked, I think around the time it came out actually. I gotta tell you, I didn’t even finish it (I never even got to the part where katniss stays over at Peeta’s place!). The pain was too much for my little heart 💔

I read the spin-off that was made based on ronja’s tcydt (I think that’s the one by vanilla), but again, it was too far into the emotional damage realm for me.

I don’t think I’ve read mutt Peeta’s fic, I’ll have to have a look.

Maybe I should just give up 💔 unless….

Isn't it weird how differently people react to the same story? This reviewer is obviously on Katniss' side and pissed off at Haymitch and Peeta. Interesting.

Oh my god, I laughed. No really, this is funny! When I put Lace as an Easter Egg in TRLB she had barely spoken a word in The Chance you didn't take. By now she is just an unnamed extra in the AO3 version. It was my small little tribute to TCYDT and Ronja, who I look up to. She doesn't even talk and Ronja was okay with it, I asked her. Maybe I should change the ff.net version, too. Poor Lace, forever hated by the fandom. Ronja created an avalanche with this story. Aw, those Bolark haters....such fun!

Hi! I have a question, in the fanfiction “The chance you didn’t take” by Ronja do Katniss and Peeta ends up together? I’ve heard it’s one of the best everlark fanfictions but I can’t read it if k & p aren’t endgame.

Unfortunately Ronja's "The Chance You Didn't Take" as written by the original author remains incomplete - though it did appear to be heading towards an everlark ending.

However, another author, Kris22, (@kriscme) has written some "alternative endings" to TCYDT, with Ronja's permission. You can find them on AO3. There are more details in this post.

I used to love ronja's stories and didn't know that someone was continuing Some of her stories. One of my most favorites was The project. Is there someone that continued that story? Thanks!!!

There isn't anyone that we know of.

If you will allow me to clarify something, Kris22 / @kriscme didn't continue Ronja's story "The Chance You Didn't Take". It remains incomplete and some day Ronja may choose to return and complete it and the rest of her works, including The Project, herself.

The stories Kris22 wrote were AUs written in the TCYDT universe. Ronja also gave Kris22 permission to post works in her universe.

I love your newest oneshot sm. I feel like in tcydt there’s so much hurt and pain leftover for Katniss that Peeta doesn’t do much to alleviate????? I love all the stories of this kind and Ronja is obvi so talented and amazing but would you ever write another oneshot or drabble where Peeta makes Katniss feel a little less insecure? Like he did in the scene where they talked about the book she ordered? I loved that scene and have literally reread it 15 times but I crave even more!

TCYDT was a punch in the gut for me. Very good, but so agonizing for Peeta to be in love with another girl.

I have an idea on the back burner (not started yet) but it will probably be longer than a oneshot. In the meantime, there's the sequel to One Life to Live - Twelve Years Later. Not too long, and Peeta feels insecure too which I like.

I really hope Katniss stop things there with Marcus like in the couch. Not liking where this is going

It’s hard to read Katniss or Peeta having sex with someone not each other - especially if it’s in the Hunger Games world.   I wanted to cut TCYDT Peeta’s dick off when I read that he’d slept with Lace.   It’s TCYDT canon that Peeta had sex with Lace.  I wanted Peeta to still be a virgin but TCYDT canon notwithstanding, it’s hard to make it work.  Peeta is 20 now and engaged to a woman who’s had previous sexual experience and would do almost anything to bind him to her (she’s very insecure about Katniss).   He doesn’t have a reason not to sleep with Lace, even if it’s just to scratch an itch. And even if he hasn’t had sex with her, he’s done other intimate things such as kissing (more intimate than sex when you think about it) sharing a bed and told her he loves her.   So, the next best thing is to equalize the situation and have a lover for Katniss. I want her to have a really good time.   If Peeta wants to be with Katniss he will have to accept that he’s not Katniss’s first just as she’ll have to accept that she’s not Peeta’s if she wants to be with him.

Hey! Do you know any other fics like "The Chance You Didn't Takec by Ronja where we for once have Katniss being the one that is more in love with Peeta while he's moving on, they may still end up together in the end or not. I just been feeling like I needed Angst...

Thank you.  I’m so glad you like them.  If you read The Chance You Did Take on tumblr that’s the first version I wrote.  You’ll find the expanded version on AO3.  Same title under author name Kris22.   I’m currently writing another also based on TCYDT.  It takes up when Peeta tells Katniss not to visit when she has nightmares.   I’ll put it up when it’s finished.

Yess ! I wanted Katniss to be her own woman and go after her sexual desires just as Peeta has. I loved TCYDT but I always wanted Katniss to live her own life a little instead of pinning for Peeta. I loved that she was devoted to Peeta until the end but it made me so jealous and sad for her that she had to watch Peeta love another woman

Hi Anon, I wanted Katniss to live a little too because there wasn’t very much that was happy in her life.  It made the relationship uneven too.  I like the idea of Peeta getting some of his own back too.
