just watched the episode where naruto meets minato, and. idk if it's because i completely skipped the battle beforehand & therefore tense battle atmosphere or if i'm just older and more resentful now, but.

if i were an orphan who had no adult guardian most of my life and had to fight for respect, and then train my butt off to survive because my dad sealed a fucking wanted monster inside of me, and then said dead dad said "😀 i did it because i believe in you. you're my son after all. idk how you're going to solve the systemic problems of our world but i blindly believe in you because that's what parents ought to do". i think i would have puked and also aimed at his shoes.

we have enough minato survives aus now we need some kushina survives the kyuubi attack aus. minato protects kushina while resealing the kyuubi in her and dies same as canon and gets to be the fridgewife this time and i want kushina to GRIEVE. minakushi work best when they’re not normal about each other so i need her to go a little insane with grief and be a not-perfect mom pretty please thank you (<- guy who hates when every female character is automatically assigned the maternal trait and also would love to angst the hell out of kushina <3)

thinking about naruto in the terms that its a tragedy makes it make a LOT more sense. anyway i cant stop thinking about how genuinely lonely sasuke mustve been and how guilty he felt knowing he was responsible for killing his two precious people. the two people he loved more than anything. do you think he blamed himself for what happened that day? if he should’ve questioned itachi more?

and kushina, for a girl with such big dreams to die so young and unfulfilled. she didn’t want her som to be like her, a girl too different to fit in, too monstrous to be human, too odd, too- too much. yet he was her child in everything but his hair. he has her softness and love. she kept her last name and thats it — but it was hers, a piece of home — everything else was expected to conform. she was his wife and nothing more.
