BUCCANEERS * Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers will host five prospects from the University of Florida at their Local Workout Day on April 12, including OT Martez Ivey, DE CeCe Jefferson, G Tyler Jordan, TE C’yontai Lewis, and G Fred Johnson. * Auman confirmed that Tampa Bay will also host Auburn WR Ryan Davis, Alabama CB Saivion Smith, North Dakota State RB Bruce Anderson, Lehigh QB Brad Mayes, and Temple WR VentellBryant. * The Buccaneers will also host five USF prospects including DE/OLB Titus Davis, S Kyle Gibson, OLB Pat Jasinski, OT Wyatt Miller, and CB Rashard Causey, per Auman. * Tampa Bay will also host USF’s OLB Josh Black, CB Ronnie Hoggins, and CB Mazzi Wilkins.(Greg Auman) FALCONS Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the team is making progress on long-term deals for WR Julio Jones and DT Grady Jarrett. “Grady’s tagging gives the ability to work on that over a longer period of time and I think there will be progress being made on that,” Blank said via NFL Media’s Herbie Teope. “With Julio, we’re in conversations now not only with him, but his agents now. So, I think there will be progress there. It’s always a matter of time, it’s give and take, it takes longer than everybody wants, including the franchise, including the players. (Vaughn McClure) PANTHERS New Panthers owner David Tepper was content with his team’s activity in free agency given Carolina’s salary constraints. “It wasn’t splashy,” Tepper said via Max Henson of the team site. “But if you look what people rated it – why does anything I say make any difference versus what people on the outside are saying? People generally thought we had a solid free agency. I think we had a very solid free agency. There’s no other way to say it.” * Tepper was impressed meeting LB Bruce Irvin, who will play a key role as the Panthers transition to more multiple fronts on defense this year:“Obviously, Irvin was a key to that. It makes a lot of sense in that scheme. I was in the building when he came. That’s the tallest linebacker I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of good linebackers in my day down in Pittsburgh. I’ve never seen one with that length. I think there’s a respect for length as a pass rusher, and if that’s the scheme we’re going to do, he seems to fit into that scheme pretty well.” * Tepper added the team isn’t done shopping this offseason: “We have to get another offensive lineman, another pass rusher, another safety, running back. Those are the obvious ones.Could there be a quarterback somewhere [in the draft]? It’s not impossible.” * The Panthers recently hosted Florida State DE Brian Burns on a top-30 visit. Burns says the Panthers have probably shown the most interest in him so far. 大谷未列40人名單 投手兼DH受邀春訓

天使隊日籍球員大谷翔平，由於簽的是小聯盟合約，因此沒列入天使隊40人名單，大谷將以投手兼指定打擊的身分受邀春訓，也宣示了他今年（2018年）在大聯盟的定位，另外，積極補強的雙城隊，必須再補一個大漏洞，因為王牌投手山塔納（Santana）因為手指受傷動手術，預計要到5月才能歸隊。

大聯盟春訓在下週正式登場，天使隊的投手群和捕手預定在15日報到，天使隊今天也公佈受邀春訓的球員名單，排名第一的就是二刀流日籍球員大谷翔平。

由於大聯盟勞資協議規定未滿25歲的海外球員有簽約金上限，因此大谷翔平只能和天使隊簽下小聯盟合約，暫時還沒有在40人名單中，大谷是以投手兼指定打擊的身分，在天使隊最新公佈的19人春訓邀請名單中，預料大谷翔平在開季就會出現在天使隊正式名單中。

去年幫雙城拿下16勝，防禦率3.28的頭號王牌投手ErvinSantana，驚傳因為手指受傷已經開刀動手術，預計要休息10~12個星期，這也意味著Santana幾乎趕不上開季，而且可能要到5月份才會歸隊。

在雙城球團發佈的聲明中指出，Santana的傷勢並非來自去年球季或球季外的任何一次投球造成，他的傷勢是因為投球重複累積壓力的結果，在Santana缺席的這段時間，包括JoseBerrios、KyleGibson幾位年輕投手，勢必有更吃重的任務。

另外前舊金山巨人王牌TimLincecum，在前年轉戰天使表現不理想，季中就遭球隊釋出，但Lincecum還是沒放棄重返大聯盟之路，Lincecum目前正積極自主訓練，預計在下星期將舉行測試會，屆時會有各隊球探到場，但這次測試會並不開放給媒體採訪。(民視新聞王人瑞、郭水城綜合報導)
