prompt: picking a leaf/flower petal out of their hair, or brushing dirt off of their face
(this one screams junglecorpse)
(I scream JungleCorpse, like, daily at this point)
For a wild moment, Jack thinks he actually blacks out. It's not a far-fetched situation considering that Rush just shoved him face-first into the post after the tag match, or considering that Preston Vance had grabbed for the ropes again, gotten them around Jack’s neck. It's just that he has to be hallucinating or dreaming or something worse, because there's no way he should be hearing those familiar music beats through the mats.
Why would he come out now, without MJF hanging over their heads, with the PPV ended? Why would he give a damn at all with Hook lying a few feet away, blood on his chin and eyes closed, limbs askew?
Jack must be inventing the situation in his head, considering how badly he and Hook were jumped after the bell, because there's no reason for Darby to be sliding into the ring beneath the rope. There's no reason for him to bash Preston over the head with his skateboard - not anymore, at least.
But he does anyway, even as Jack is blearily blinking up at the lights that have gone fuzzy and halo-ed. He does anyway, the absolute idiot, reckless and furious as he stares down La Facción Ingobernable and gets them to slink out of the ring once more. They probably only leave because they won, the victory a heady high.
Jack chokes, his skin on fire and his shoulders throbbing.
He closes his eyes. When he opens them once more, Darby is leaning over him.
"Why?" Jack asks, hoarse. He took a boot to the throat and now his trachea might as well be torn all to hell.
Darby runs his fingers across Jack’s face. They come away red - Jack hadn't known he was bleeding. "Can you get up?"
Jack wants to ask again, needs to ask again, and can't summon the strength. His elbows threaten to give out as he pushes himself up. Darby’s arm slides around his back to offer support, and then...a little press of Darby’s fingertips against Jack’s aching back. A touch to steady him.
Jack wobbles. His thoughts go woozy as his head spins. His forehead comes down on Darby’s shoulder, and he isn't pushed away. Instead, Darby leans in a little, near the junction of Jack’s ear and jaw. Jack’s hair must obscure his face from the crowd, or else he'd never risk it.
"Do you understand?" Darby hisses, and Jack can't tell if he's furious or terrified. "Do you understand now?"
Jack claws his fingers into the back of Darby’s shirt, inhaling the scent of his aftershave. "Yes."
"Get up," Darby demands. Terrified: he's terrified, and it translates straight to sparking anger, and Jack understands.
He understands, and it sends his thoughts ricocheting so hard in the opposite direction that he almost can't breathe, the last piece of the puzzle slotting into place and sending a shiver down his spine.

I have a funny question. If Rikochet, Buena Girl and The Flea would join a wrestling faction, which one do you think would be? Personally, I think they would join L.I.J (Los Ingobernables De Japón) or LFI (La Facción Ingovernable)
They would be outsiders, turning up unexpectedly and 'invading' different promotions under the 'MLWO' moniker.

AEW FULL GEAR 2023 PREDICTIONS
Tumblr media
Full Gear is shaping up to be a decent card, but I’m hoping we get resolutions to some nagging issues I’ve been having with AEW as of late.
MJF and TBA vs. The Gunns - ROH World Tag Team Championship
The Ring of Honor titles on AEW TV has done nothing but cause a distraction. Most of the titles are now back on ROH, and I think the tag belts will follow. The only other angle they could do is, Samoa Joe and MJF team to win. Now both men are tied together with these belts. I can see this working, but I can also see Jay White getting involved in a screwy finish. I’ll with The Gunns for the victory.
Hikaru Shida vs. "Timeless" Toni Storm - AEW Women's World Championship
Hikari Shida reign as been lackluster. No fault of Shida by the way. AEW women’s wrestling can go from hot to cold within a week. The lack of consistency and focus on the division is frustrating as a fan. I just don’t know how Shida comes out with the win when Toni Storm’s new gimmick is so over. It makes sense to strike while the iron is hot. Timeless gets the win.
Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne
This match is going to be a blast. I’m going all in with Adam Copeland going heel, thus causing Darby Allin and Sting to lose. Then they could do an Adam & Christan vs. Sting & Darby at Worlds End. It’s a risky prediction, but I’m sticking to it.
Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley – International Championship
This past week on Dynamite we saw that the orange punch barely fazing Jon Moxley. If Orange Cassidy wasn’t the underdog already, he’s definitely walking in as one. The story is that the odds are stacked against Orange, which is why I’m giving him the win that he needs. Moxley should walk out with a newfound respect for Orange.
The Golden Jets vs. The Young Bucks
The stipulation is simple; if The Young Bucks lose, then The Golden Jets (awful name) will obtain the Bucks number one contender spot for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. If the Jackson boys win, then Jericho and Omega must disband as a tag team. I’m giving the win to Kenny and Chris. The Golden Jets will then go on to win the belts from Big Bill and Ricky Starks and then the feud with The Young Buck - who are already pissed off due to the loss from Full Gear - will continue.
Ricky Starks and Big Bill vs. La Facción Ingobernable vs. FTR vs. Kings of The Black Throne - AEW World Tag Team Championship
Ricky Starks and Big Bill as tag team champions has been boring. I must keep reminding myself that they have the belts, which is a bad sign for the division. I don’t see LFI winning as it’s early days for them. FTR don’t need the belts, and Kings of The Black Throne just haven’t been built to take those belts. I believe Starks and Bill will retain, and as mentioned, they will drop the belts to The Golden Jets…unless The Young Bucks win their match and FTR wins this one, and we get another match with both teams…please, let’s not do this match again.
"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland - Texas Death Match
This is easily one of the best feuds of the year. Both men are telling a fantastic story where the drama keeps building each week. This is going to be a bloody and vicious fight. I’ve heard many people say that Serve Strickland needs to win this match, but he doesn’t because this is not your typical match, it’s a fight that has stemmed from a man breaking into another man’s house and threatening a baby. Adam Page needs to win to show he can defend his family. At the end of the day, both men will come out of this match looking great.
Kris Statlander  vs. Julia Hart vs. Skye Blue -  AEW TBS Championship
Who is Kris Statlander? She was an alien, but she dropped the gimmick, so who she is now? I don’t know. AEW has failed to explore her character. With no clear direction, she’s just been standing between to Skye Blue (whose had development as a character) and Willow Nightengale looking confused. Like Toni Storm, Julia Hart has been connecting with the audience. I think the belt will be going on Hart because it’s not doing anything for Statlander. I feel Blue still has some time to go before getting any gold.
MJF vs. Jay White – AEW World Championship
It feels like this feud has been going on forever, so I’m glad it’s being wrapped up this weekend. I’m also not a Jay White fans because AEW has failed to tell me anything about him as an individual whereas MJF has transitioned wonderfully into a babyface where we’ve seen a vulnerable side to his character that’s relatable. MJF wins this one.
I’m hoping Full Gear finally reveals The Devil. Again, it feels like this Devil character has been around for much longer than they have. I can’t wait for MJF to retain so he can move on. I want the tag division to have a clear direction and for the women’s division to shine the light on the characters that need it. I feel positive that this PPV will conclude and open up new and exciting stories.

Ring of Honor: One Year Later
One year ago today, I was excited. I had some extra cash, and I was going to get a replica of the Ring of Honor World Championship belt. I never had a replica belt of my own, and I was excited to add one to my collection.
It had been a while since I had seen ROH, but I heard great things about the Pure tournament, and I had seen some highlights here and there. So I thought I'd be able to get back into ROH that way.
And then, I checked the news.
“Throughout the pandemic, our top priority was to keep everyone healthy and safe, and despite not producing any live events over 18 months, we were able to keep everyone fully contracted. We now find ourselves at a time where we need to make changes to our business operations and are planning a pivot for Ring of Honor, with a new mission and strategy.
The year will culminate with a Final Battle in December, and we will be taking the first quarter of 2022 to work internally to reimagine ROH. ROH has the most dedicated fans in the industry, and we appreciate their loyalty and patience as we reconceptualize ROH.
We anticipate returning to live events in April for the Super Card of Honor with a new fan-focused product and provide a unique experience for wrestling fans.”
Oh no.
On that day's episode of Wrestling Observer Live, they were finding this out in real time, and they announced that everyone had been released from their contracts.
Oh no.
A week later, I get the news that my roommate is selling his house, and I'll have to be gone by April.
OH NO.
Coincidence? I think not.
I was still heavily into AEW around that time, but I finally caught my first ROH match in god knows how long, as Taylor Rust defeated Tracy Williams in a Pure Rules match. From there, I watched my first full ROH PPV, Final Battle. Aside from the CYN stuff (which was hilarious in hindsight, given that Kross and Strowman both returned to WWE anyway), the show was tremendous and heartfelt. It definitely resonated with me, as I was getting ready to say goodbye to the place I lived at for four years.
I then caught ROH TV on Christmas night. I stayed up late to watch it, and it wasn't until the end of the episode that I realized that it would be the last original episode for a long time. Maybe ever. The next day, I set out to correct my wrongs of not catching up with ROH, and purchased the Pure Tournament DVD, as well as some other DVDs on clearance. I wish I could have gotten the Sinclair logo shirt as well, because I highly doubt it's going up on Shop Honor anytime soon.
Two months after I had moved into my new place, Tony Khan announced that he had purchased ROH. I made a point to catch Supercard of Honor, which was a tremendous show from top to bottom. In the gym, I began catching up on ROH episodes while on the treadmill, mostly from the pandemic era. I can honestly say that 2020-2021 ROH is some of the best pro wrestling television I've ever seen. Tons of great matches, and an easy to follow format. I haven't seen every episode yet, but it's tremendous. The three-way faction war between The Foundation, La Facción Ingobernable, and VLNCE UNLMTD, the rise of The Righetous, and the Quest for Gold to crown the inaugural ROH Women's World Champion is all just compelling stuff. I know Hunter Johnston catches a lot of flack for his booking philosophies, but he deserves a ton of credit for how this show came together over the course of sixteen months. I know a lot of people were disappointed by the lack of crowds, but I think having no fans was different, and in some ways, enhanced the product. Being able to hear the trash talk (Tony Deppen: "What, do you think I'm stupid?!" Tracy Williams: "...yes.") and seeing wrestlers work while calling spots as quietly as humanly possible is fascinating.
Since then, we've seen Death Before Dishonor, which was yet another tremendous show anchored by the rematch between FTR and The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. That was the same week as the overbooked, disastrous Barbed Wire Everything match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, and I was in no mood to hear anything about AEW for the rest of the week. Death Before Dishonor, much like Supercard of Honor before it, featured matches with clean finishes and little to no shenanigans outside of Samoa Joe vs. Jay Lethal. This is what I'm hoping for when ROH inevitably (hopefully) returns to TV next year. It needs to have its own separate identity. I get that it's easier to consolidate everything when you have the same crew filming and working your shows, but ROH needs to be its own company. Not just a glorified edition of Dark or Elevation every week.
The Ring of Jericho stuff shows promise, and it's a good way to keep eyes on the company, while simultaneously showcasing guys like Bandido and Dalton Castle, both of whom absolutely deserve a spotlight.
In one of the episodes of pandemic era ROH, there was a match between Dragon Lee and Eli Isom for the ROH World Television Championship. There was a throwaway line about how Dalton Castle (on commentary) wanted ROH TV to get Golden Globes and Emmys, but lead announcer Ian Riccaboni preferred to settle for a Wrestling Observer Award before asking, “Do we even qualify for those anymore?”
I laughed... and then I didn't.
Catching up on these episodes (as well as episodes from when The Elite were running the show) has been a reminder as to why I loved ROH in the first place. I have a pro wrestling creative writing project called Soul Wrestling Incorporated, and it feels like an emulation of ROH. I can picture the camera angles, the stage, the sounds in my head as I write these results and shows, and everything ties into ROH. This company has influenced my writing in many ways, and I can't thank them enough.
It's the company that never said die (even when they were losing money before the Sinclair deal), the company that developed talents long before there was an NXT, and the company that helped define what pro wrestling is today. Without ROH, there's no Yes movement, no Pipebomb, no Architect of the Shield, and Adam Cole Bay Bay. And while AEW could have turned out fine regardless, it was ROH that helped give the Elite the platform needed to break out and make it on their own (although to be fair, that had more to do with Being the Elite being as popular as it was).
ROH going on hiatus and firing everyone right around the time I had to find a new place to live really hit home to me. The house I was living at became a veritable safe space for me. It was the place I lived when I got my license, secured a promotion at work, and needed shelter from the pandemic. I always knew that eventually, I'd have to move on, but I always thought I had more time. But life has a funny way of working out. Now I'm a homeowner despite being told growing up that I never would be (I'm autistic), and ROH is going to host its 21st Final Battle event in less than two months.
Is ROH in a better place than it was a year ago? 90% yes, but 10% no. The future looks promising with a new TV deal, and the fact that ROH has the likes of Jericho, Claudio Castagnoli, Samoa Joe, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, Lee Moriarty, Dalton Castle, Willow Nightingale, and more in their corner. In addition, there are arguably more eyes on what ROH will do next since the Elite left. But as a fan, I feel that a lot was sacrificed to get to this point. Jonathan Gresham, arguably one of, if not, the best technical wrestlers in the world, quit after not being used properly. There's no more Foundation or VLNCE UNLMTD (although I won't miss Chris Dickinson). Rok-C and Quinn McKay are both in WWE, where the former has wanted to be since she started, so I can't blame her. Most of the guys that were having great matches during the pandemic are being trotted out on Dark and Elevation to be fed to AEW guys. Eli Isom, for all the work he put in and all the great matches he had, gets steamrolled by Ricky Starks in under a minute.
So, there is cautious optimism. It all depends on who will dethrone Jericho for the ROH World Championship, and what the TV show will look like. All I know is that a year ago today, I never would have guessed that having ROH back in my life would be so damn satisfying as a long-time fan of professional wrestling.
Thank you for everything, ROH. It's been a wild ride. See you on December 10.
“We are ALL Ring of Honor strong.”
– Jonathan Gresham after winning the ROH Pure Championship

Full gear 2023 predictions
As always this is who I think will win not necessarily who I want to win.
MjF and TBA vs. The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) Tag team match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship:
The gunns and I only say that cause MJf partner is gonna be Samoa Joe (I'm like 99%) and there's no way they're gonna get along.
Hikaru Shida (c) vs. "Timeless" Toni Storm (with Luther) Singles match for the AEW Women's World Championship:
It's toni time babyyyy. She's gonna be so insufferable with this title and I can't fkn wait lol.
3 Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland (with Ric Flair) vs. Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne Six-man tag team match:
darby , Adam and stiiiiiiiiiing!
4 Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jon Moxley Singles match for the AEW International Championship:
Everyone's favourite fruit , Jon doesn't need this title but orange definitely does, I think it's gonna be Wheeler that wins it from 🍊
5 "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) Texas Death match: lawd help me gonna be watching this one through my fingers. But I think hanger gonna do it.
Swerve broke into his goddamn house and hanger hasn't been able to get his hands on him yet maaaan I'd hate to be swerve tomorrow night lol.
6 The Golden Jets (Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) Tag team match.
If The Golden Jets win, they will get The Young Bucks' AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity, but if The Young Bucks win, The Golden Jets must disband as a team:
I don't want ittttt.
Bucks gonna piss everyone off (online at least cause they gonna get a hero's welcome tomorrow night) by winning there's no way they're giving up there title shot.
7 Kris Statlander (c) vs. Julia Hart vs. Skye Blue Three-way match for the AEW TBS Championship:
I'm sorry My gorgeous alien babe but I think my spoopy gal gonna do it.
8 Ricky Starks and Big Bill (c) vs. La Facción Ingobernable (Rush and Dralístico) (with José the Assistant) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. Kings of The Black Throne (Malakai Black and Brody King) Four-way tag team match for AEW World Tag Team Championship:
Ermmmm I didn't even know this match was a thing lol hmm I dunno let's go big bill and Ricky retain.
9 MJF (c) vs. Jay White , Singles match for the AEW World Championship:
Max gonna retain its not Jay's time yet but there's definitely gonna be shenanigans.

Obviously -1 is all up for shit like this, as Grayson said he’s well up for doing shit and he’s even better than some of the other guys when it comes to doing shit on TV.
It’s some well needed heat on Preston and La Faccion, and im sure Amanda and Brodie Jr are all up for it.

Everyone has theories on who the Devil is but I sat staring at a picture and a completely way out of left field thought formed. There's a larger masked man in the bunch and though they wear slightly loose fitting clothes you can tell he's a bit...jacked underneath. Anywho... it got me thinking what if that big guy is Preston Vance? I don't get to watch AEW often so I don't know if the stable he's with would make sense for Max with the storyline. Probably a stupid thought.
Unfortunately he is part right now of La Facción Ingobernable and, at the moment and they haven’t really interacted with MJF, so it doesn’t really fit with The Devil storyline. But, it was an interesting thought! And yes, there’s definitely a big guy there, which means it can’t be just The Kingdom/Roddy/Adam/Kyle like many of us thought that were the masked men. Now I’m even more clueless.
