Common Myths and Misconceptions about Laser Hair Removal
Myth 1: Laser Hair Removal Is Painful
Fact: Modern laser technologies have significantly reduced discomfort. Most people describe the sensation as mild stinging or snapping, akin to a rubber band snapping against the skin.
Myth 2: Laser Hair Removal Is Only for Light Skin Tones
Fact: Advances in laser technology have made it more inclusive. While it's true that certain lasers are better suited for lighter skin, there are options available for various skin tones, including darker ones.
Myth 3: Laser Hair Removal Is Permanent After One Session
Fact: Multiple sessions are usually required for optimal results. Hair grows in cycles, and laser treatment is most effective during the active growth phase. A series of sessions ensures that all hair follicles are treated.
Myth 4: Laser Hair Removal Causes Scarring
Fact: Scarring is extremely rare when performed by a trained professional. Laser hair removal is a non-invasive procedure that doesn't involve incisions, reducing the risk of scarring.
Myth 5: Laser Hair Removal Is Expensive
Fact: While it may seem like a significant upfront cost, compared to the long-term expenses of other hair removal methods, like waxing or shaving, laser hair removal can be cost-effective. Now that we've debunked these common myths, if you're considering laser hair removal in the Southlake-Dallas-Plano-Fort Worth-Arlington area, look no further than Medrein Health & Aesthetics.

Brazilian Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal For Bikini Areas in Dubai is the best alternative to all other Hair Removal methods. The treatment is quick and relatively painless, and it can be done in the comfort of your own home. Bikini hair laser treatment is a popular choice for many women who want to remove unwanted hair in the bikini area. The laser targets the hair follicles and destroys them, so the hair will not grow back.
There are a few things to keep in mind before you undergo laser treatment. First, you will need to avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks before and after the treatment. This is because the laser can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. You should also avoid waxing or plucking the hair in the treatment area, as this can irritate the skin. We can eliminate as much or as little hair with Bikini Line Laser Hair Removal as you’d like. With the choice of Basic Bikini Line, Brazilian Bikini, or Bikini Full, we provide the laser equivalent of a bikini wax.
How does it function? Well, first the hair fully sheds out after being destroyed from beneath the skin. After that, the skin pores close, revealing only flawless, lovely skin. One of our most popular laser hair removal treatments is the removal of pubic hair along the bikini line. One of the simplest and quickest areas to treat, the majority of these laser treatments take just twenty minutes to complete.

Beauty Diary
Chapter 2: Building A Maintenance Routine
Let’s girl talk about how to build a maintenance routine, how to schedule, when to book appointments + understanding medical esthetic procedures.
How to Build a Routine:
Understand yourself and your beauty needs/desires. Do you want to start getting manicures? Are there any skin concerns you want to address + treat? Any enhancements you want? Are you ready to start keeping up with your hair? Once these questions are answered you can start building a routine!
Know what services can be done at a salon or at home.
Research for the best salons and spas near you
Take note of what you learn about yourself from your appointments so you know how to keep up at home. Ex.) Your skin type, curl pattern, hair porosity, ingredients that work best for you + your skin undertone.
List out what services you want done, how often you want them done and what you’re looking to achieve after each service.
Set beauty goals and plan to save for special beauty services.
Facials:
Basic facials should be done every 4-6 weeks.
When it comes to medical spa procedures they should be done at least once a month!
Here’s a short list of my favorite medical spa treatments to gain an understanding of what they are and how they benefit you.
Hydrafacial: a non invasive procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection by removing dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously delivering moisturizing serums into the skin. (Skin type: ALL) should be done every 4-6 weeks.
Chemical Peel: a solution applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. (Skin type: ALL. Darker skin complexions can experience post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) should be done once a month.
Microdermabrasion: a minimally abrasive instrument is used to gently sand your skin in order to remove the thicker, uneven outer portion of skin. Best for light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks. (Skin type: Skin prone to acne scars, age spots, unevenness, discoloration and sun damage.) should be done very 4-8 weeks.
PRP aka Vampire Facial: a procedure that involves drawing the clients blood, spinning it and injecting it through microneedling to increase collagen, reduce fine lines/wrinkles, improve moisture retention and enhance skin tone + texture. (Skin type: typically ACNE PRONE SKIN) should be done every few weeks and maintenance sessions are done 2-4 times a year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hair Removal
There are many types of hair removal procedures to invest your time and money into. Waxing, sugaring, threading, laser hair removal and electrolysis. It’s best to go in for a hair removal service when your hair is the size of a grain of rice.
Waxing: every 2-5 weeks. face, underarms and bikini can be done every 2-3 weeks. hair length should be 1/4 of an inch.
Sugaring: every 2 weeks. hair length should be at least 1/8 of an inch.
Threading: every 2-3 weeks.
Laser Hair Removal: every 4-6 weeks done in about 4-6 treatment sessions. maintenance treatments can be done once every 6-12 months.
Electrolysis: every 2-4 weeks done in about 8-12 treatments. can take any where from 8 months, 12 months and 2 years to complete the treatment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cosmetic Injections
Cosmetic injections tend to be a yearly treatment routine. I recommend investing in packages in order to get more treatment sessions for a certain amount of money. They can also include a free treatment. Packages can be used for medical esthetic procedures such as laser hair removal packages, body contouring packages and tattoo removal packages as well.
Participating in Botox parties are also a good way to get a discount and purchase Botox packages. I used to assist hosting botox parties which included champagne, mimosas, cute desserts and discounts for clients if they brought a friend!
Botox: once every 4 months.
Lip Filler: once every 12-18 months.
Chin Filler: once every 1-5 years.
Non Surgical Rhinoplasty: once every 6 months.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nails
During the summer time is when I go into the nail salon more often than usual to keep my nails and toes ready for the sunshine.
Gel Manicure: every 3-4 weeks between fills.
Gel Pedicure: 2 weeks to 1 month.
Acrylic Nail Set: filled every 2-3 weeks. every 8 weeks to replace fake nails.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hair
Your hair should be healthy and kept in good maintenance by using an effective salon routine.
Hair Color: every 4-6 weeks between each hair coloring session.
Haircut: every 6-8 weeks or every 3-4 months.
Extensions: glue and tape extensions every 4-8 weeks, sew-in extensions every 6-8 weeks and micro-link extensions every 2-3 months.
Wig Installations: every 1-6 weeks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other
Lash Extensions: every 2-3 weeks.
Lash Lift: every 6-8 weeks.
Lash Tinting: every 4-6 weeks.
Bow Tinting: every 4 weeks.
Brow Lamination: every 4-6 weeks.
Microblading: touch ups 1 or 2 times a year.
Appointment Layout:
Week 1: hydrafacial & extraction session.
Week 2: eyebrow wax & tint.
Week 3: hair cut & color.
PSA:
How often you get any procedures done depends on you, your budget, your skin, your hair, your nails, your stylist, your esthetician or your health care provider. Please build a beauty routine that fits you and your life style the best!

i'm having laser hair removal rn to get rid of facial hair growth due to a possible hormonal imbalance (having bloods done in a couple of weeks) which I think most people would agree is a pretty reasonable thing to do.
anyway when I was in for my first session I was talking to the tech about what level of hair reduction to expect and she starts telling me about her experience having her underarm hair removed. & I confess I had this brief moment of silent judgement at the idea of getting laser hair on your underarms before it struck me how unfair that was given that i was, literally also getting laser hair removal.
it wasn't fair!! i have no idea what her reasons for wanting laser hair removal were & kinda shitty to act like what I'm doing is wildly different to what she had done.
I don't think you can draw a hard line between 'hair removal for cosmetic reasons' and 'hair rermoval for medical reasons'. if it turns out i don't have anything up with my hormones, would that put my hair removal squarely in the cosmetic category? or does the fact that I'm a cis woman and it's facial hair automatically make it a medical thing?
i see a lot of people saying that they shave or wax for sensory reasons but I think a lot of women who shave do so because they dislike the tactile sensation of their body hair so what level of discomfort is needed before it becomes 'sensory reasons' and not just 'i think body hair feels yucky'? do you need a diagnosis of sensory processing disorder or what?
my point is: if you remove any or all of your body hair and you feel an urge to be like 'yes I remove my body hair but it's not because of societal beauty standards, it's because of *insert reason here*', maybe engage in some self-reflection.

Hi! Any beauty hacks you mind sharing?
𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔:
- use silk pillow cases for your skin & hair
- lash growing serum works!! (I use grande lash)
- rice water / rosemary oil for long silky smooth hair
- ice masks / quartz rollers for your skin: promotes blood circulation & is meant to depuff and reduce inflammation
- cuticle oil for healthy strong nails
- putting a little bit of peroxide in your mouth wash helps whiten your teeth
- men’s after shave to reduce razor bumps
- always brush your tongue first thing in the morning to get rid of any toxins
- hyaluronic acid oral pills enhances its benefits and keeps your skin hydrated & plumped
- getting hair trims every 6 months promotes hair growth by getting rid of the split ends and breakage.
- with skin care, remember mornings are to protect & nights are to repair
- ditch the dairy and sugar if you want clear healthy skin
- remember that your neck and chest are an extension to your face! treat them with protective products as well.
- if you struggle with body hair and are constantly needing to shave, i truly recommend doing laser hair removal. it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, i went from shaving my underarms and bikini area every 3 days to only once a month which helped so much with hyperpigmentation and razor bumps. it’s expensive but totally worth it.
- wrap your hair in a cotton t-shirt place of a towel to prevent breakage and roughness
- castor oil to thicken your eyebrows
- vitamin E brightens scars
- put Vaseline on the areas you want your perfume to stick
- look into the stomach vacuum exercise! performing it daily will help shrink the waist line and tone your abs

things you've done in your glowup journey?
I invested in 30 sessions of full body laser hair removal!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you are looking for a semi-permanent method to remove body hair, I would strongly recommend investing in laser hair removal. There's nothing like running your fingers over you skin and feeling the smoothness and softness of your skin, it makes me feel so much fresher and cleaner to wake up with hairless skin, and to go through life without the hassle of shaving or waxing or epilating (ouch!). I am super clumsy so I would always get cuts, scars, ingrowns when I used any of the above mentioned methods not to mention that the hair would grow back within days and all of the itching but now I don't have to deal with any of that.
My body hair has always been one of my biggest insecurities, I am Middle Eastern so I grow a lot of hair on my entire body but luckily, I have very light skin and dark hair so I am an ideal candidate for laser hair removal. My sessions are still ongoing and I will probably get 50-ish sessions in total just to get rid of all my hair. I love being completely hairless, it makes me feel so much more beautiful and it also prevents body odor since our body hair tends to carry bacteria. Another thing is I literally had the worst Keratosis Pilaris on my thighs and it's 90% gone thanks to laser hair removal and regular dry brushing.
I used to go once a month but due ot exams and vacation, I took a few months break and I grew absolutely no leg hair back which came as a shock, very little underarm hair and a bit more on my bikini zone as the hair follicles there tend to be thicker but there was such a great difference in thickness of the body hair and way less growth. I have also noticed a great improvement in skin texture and the annoying red bumps I used to have on my thighs are all gone which was a very unexpected but welcome change.
I do ice laser hair removal and it still hurts a lot because I have very low pain tolerance and I am just a very sensitive person. My biggest tip is: get your sessions after your menstruation, the closer your sessions are to your period, the more they will hurt. I am someone who loves semi-permanent changes and all my beauty treatments serve a very clear purpose that make my life a lot easier, it's one of my 'high maintenance to be low maintenance' ways.
I would say that laser hair removal has been in my top 3 beauty investments on my journey to becoming a more beautiful and confident me.
