'Rear Admiral William "Deak" Parsons was born on November 26, 1901, in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School at Annapolis in 1929 with an emphasis on ordnance.

Capt. Parsons's last shipboard assignment prior to America's entry into World War II was in 1939, as gunnery office on board the USS Detroit, flagship of the commander of destroyers of the Pacific battle force. Shore duty came next, at the naval Proving Grounds in Dahlgren, Virginia, and at the Applied Physics Laboratory in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he made possible the introduction of the proximity fuses for combat use. By 1942, he was ready to be sent to sea, but the president's science advisor, Vannevar Bush, whom he had assisted in his previous assignment, drafted him into the atomic bomb project.

In March 1943, Capt. Parsons joined the Manhattan Project as leader of the Ordnance Division. Parsons reported to admiral Ernest King, Commander in Chief, U.S. Fleet, who dashed Parsons's hopes for a wartime sea command. King told him that the services of an ordnance officer were needed to supervise the production of an atomic bomb. Like General Leslie Groves, Capt. Parsons put aside his personal desire for combat duty to make greater contributions to the total war effort: helping to create "a perfectly functioning atomic bomb that could end the war."

Except for the uranium physics and metallurgy, the gun assembly of Little Boy, the uranium bomb, was mostly an ordnance problem entrusted to Capt. Parsons. After the reorganization in August 1944, he was also entrusted with transforming the uranium and plutonium bombs into combat weapons.

Capt. Parsons was also the head of Project Alberta, which oversaw the various responsibilities necessary for the actual delivery of the bombs. These included modifying the aircraft to accommodate the bombs, supervising field tests, developing fuses, and selecting and advancing bases for assembly and delivery.

Capt. Parsons helped to research, develop, assemble and finally drop the atomic bomb. He crawled into the Arctic-cold bomb bay of the Enola Gay to arm the bomb, which was armed in-flight due to its unstable design.

After World War II, Capt. Parsons became the U.S. Navy's leading figure on nuclear issues, and he continued to be involved with nuclear issues for the rest of his career. In 1946, he worked to organize Operation Crossroads, a series of nuclear tests in the Pacific.

He eventually rose to the rank of Rear Admiral. On December 5, 1953, he died from a heart attack in Bethesda, Maryland.'

THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO BUILT THE BOMB: THE SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS OF THE MANHATTAN PROJECT

A highly unusual document commemorating the massive, top-secret scientific and technical efforts from 1939 to 1945 which resulted in the successful deployment of the first atomic weapons. At the top of the sheet is a hand-drawn emblem of the Manhattan Project executed in blue, black and red inks. The six-line hand-written text beneath the emblem reads: "We, the undersigned, in grateful appreciation of our joint association in the Los Alamos, New Mexico Atomic Bomb Project, hereby list below a lasting record of friendship spent in working on the World's Greatest Secret The Atomic Bomb."

Below, arranged in three neat columns on dotted lines, are the signatures of 30 individuals including: Leslie R. Groves (General and commanding officer of the Manhattan Engineering District [the Manhattan Project]); J. Robert Oppenheimer (Theoretical Physicist and Director of Los Alamos Laboratory); Samuel K. The VERY Weird Version Of Big Bang Theory You Never Saw The best Big Bang Theory episodes understand exactly what the show is and is trying to be, but its original pilot did not. The Big Bang Theory used to be a very different show, and it certainly was not a good one. The original Penny was fired, cast members weren't written in yet, and the whole thing almost didn't happen. To be fair, even in the final version, it still took a few episodes for the showrunners to know exactly what to do with Sheldon. Case in point, the very first scene, which is the two boys visiting a sperm bank! We know from later episodes that Sheldon, while not rich, is comfortable enough financially that he has thousands of dollars that he can loan Penny on a whim. And imagine a world in which Sheldon would touch himself for money! There is absolutely no possibility that the final version of Sheldon as we know him, would ever visit a sperm bank.

When people talk about the relationship between Penny and Sheldon (which I agree IS the heart of the show), they don't point out WHY the relationship works so well. It's because of ALL the guys on the show, Sheldon is the ONE guy who she doesn't have to worry about hitting on her. So she can let down her guard with him and that's what makes the relationship (and the show) work.

I for sure felt like the writers were initially going to make Leonard the star of the show, a sort of Ted HIMYM and with Penny as Ross and Rachel. I think they never expected audiences reaction to Sheldon's quirky personality. Sheldon went from being the sidekick to a lovable [although often annoying] character of the whole series.

I think you’re wrong on one point: I think Gilda was the template for Leslie Winkle. They’re both (from what you’ve shown) dominant intellectuals and wanting sex but not love from Leonard. Amy was extremely awkward and initially almost robotic. Then they changed her into a more “normal” but still socially awkward person.

Gilda is NOT AMY. Gilda is Lesley Winkle, who was in the first season. Amy wasn't even imagined until after season 2 and the writers have said that themselves. If you look at Lesley and Gilda you will see nothing but similarities. They are the same character.

I have seen the full original pilot and I had to watch it twice😳 simply because I could not believe how first incredibly bad it was and second how even more grateful I am for what we actually did receive. Oh thank you for stopping this first rendition before it was out there. I have as many millions of others spent many hours enjoying the only version of the Big Bang we will ever need.

Today we celebrate Keith Parsons' 78th birthday by releasing a new documentary!

This 51st documentary from Plausible Pictures features afterlife communications from 9 deceased people, 7 of whom were pilots in the first and second World Wars.

Their messages are described against the background of the competition that existed amongst flyers keen to establish distance records in those early planes of the 1920s and 1930s; and who became famous as a result. Two of the main characters featuring here were not flyers themselves: the RAF's Sir Hugh Dowding, Air Chief Marshall of Fighter Command in the Battle of Britain; and Leslie Flint the most tested and successful direct-voice medium that Britain has ever produced.

7-19-23 Testimony- Idyllwild State Park- Police report by Court Mandated Journalist/Reporter/Realtor/Mother/Lexus Owner

There was a pounding on bathroom door.

"Police!"

What's going on, I thought?

I just put in another $1 token!

"Hold on," I said, drying quickly and gathering my shampoo, conditioner and special skin regime- cut short in only 15 minutes!

"Is that your white car?" Dumb cop asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Is there a problem?"

I quickly got license in my car for him, locked doors; as he requested to run it.

I think he was blubbering lies that I didn't pay for state park shower.

This wasn't true.

I nearly asked him for a $4 refund. I was so miffed.

I showed him my "Golden Bear Pass," and he also immediately wanted to know if I had weapons in my car, clearly scared- after terrorizing me out of my women's shower room.

"Absolutely not!" I told him!

"Who issued this?" He said in disbelief confused by Green Golden Bear Pass. 

This was the 1000th+ case of a court officer taking collateral with a clerk doxxing my location since 2016 divorce.

It wasn't enough to fire manager Jerry Sue Haney. PNC lost my bank records from BBVA they bought executive managers claim.

Dumb cops asked if I wanted an ambulance for my skin condition- since he interrupted my shower! 

No- I told him it was due to Covid 19 officers 911 rapes! 

And divorce court bigotry bribes to resist a timely cooperation of respectful divorce dissolution. 

(He appeared to need an ambulance for his perversions though!)

"No- I'm not fine" I told him. "I just need dinner. My blood sugar is low & I have PTSD f/ this nonsense! Human needs!" I said knowingly & looked at his bleary eyes!

I was sweating like a pig- still hot from shower- dripping wet in my yoga clothes.

I explained that I had PTSD from similar officer abuse and that Enoche not only raped my sister Vanessa out of arrest; he bullied Jyoti on registration- AND stole my rental car with gay triple AAA driver (his casual gay lover?) Daniel Crabtree on a date at 54399 Valleyview Ave for Shane Stewart of Idyllwild Realty- before his property manager- Emily Pearson was murdered.

Civil servants failed constitutions. I had to warn several moms their showers might be interrupted by kinky officers. They looked worried sizing up the creepy cop.

Bill said he's a Ranger and showed off his weapons & 40 pounds of overstuffed toddler gear after banging on door claiming to be "police" for heart attack warfare effect later switching tine to ranger when I told him to get educated by his colleagues.
