In addition to her work as an internationally recognized Flamenco artist, actor, Leticia Jimenez, is best known for her roles in “Pitch Perfect 2” (Director Elizabeth Banks and writers Kay Cannon and Mickey Rapkin), “The Loft” (Director Erik Van Looy and writers Bart De Pauw and Wesley Strick), “Jake’s Road” (Writer/director Mike Mayhall), and “Intruders” (Director Adam Schindler and writers T.J. Cimfel and David White).
Tell us about your role in Intruders.
“I play, Charlotte, a lawyer who has been hired by, Ana’s dying brother, to make sure that she is taken care of when he passes. My character is also a friend to Ana and tries to help her overcome her phobia of the outside world.“
“The script kept me on my toes and in suspense of what was going to happen next!”
What did you love about the script?
“I absolutely loved the huge twist! Where Ana’s character totally switches the dynamic of victim to aggressor.  The script kept me on my toes and in suspense of what was going to happen next!“
Tell us about working with your co-star Rory Culkin.
“He was a super nice and friendly guy to be around. He was professional and really brought the character to life! It was great just to see him work.“
Can you tell us about the rest of your cast and crew? Mention as many as you like.
“Well, Beth Reisgraf, who plays Ana, was absolutely brilliantly! I really enjoyed my scenes with her. She is such a natural giving actor. All the crew and cast were awesome to work with. Adam Schindler, the director, was great to work with and knew exactly what he wanted in each scene and for each character.  Jack Kesy and  Martin Starr really brought their A game.  It was an honor to work with such a talented cast and crew.
“When we were filming the scene where I leaving Ana after I go to check up on her that I hear a sound or thud coming from below.  When we filmed the scene one of the crew hid in a chest in order to make the thud sound so that we could both react to it.  That was pretty hilarious, but it helped us get the scene just right.“
We understand that you are an internationally recognized Flamenco artist and master teacher. We would love to hear about how you became a dancer.
I actually have been dancing since an early age and Professionally since I was 14.  I can’t remember a time when I was not dancing.  It is just a part of my life, of who I am. I first heard the flamenco music and I was hooked!
What was the most amazing experience you had as a dancer?
“Wow, I have had many!  Just the opportunity to be able to tour the world and meet great artists from all over and also be able to perform with some of the greatest flamenco artist of our time was an amazing experience in itself.“
You also had a role in Pitch You had quite a few roles in films this year including “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip,“ “Pitch Perfect 2,“ “A Girl Like Grace“ and “Running forever.“ Can you tell us about those films and your roles?
“Yes, I worked on quite a few films that came out this year! It has been a good year! These were great an fun films to work on! The characters I play all kind of run the gambit. The Chipmunks movie and “Pitch Perfect 2“ were great big budget films to be a part of! The cast and crew were awesome and being able to work with Elizabeth Banks was just fabulous!! I am a huge fan of her work! She was a great director! She really knew what she wanted and how to communicate that to the actors and create the scene exactly how she wanted it.
“A Girl Like Grace,“ and “Running Forever“ were also great Indie films to be a part of. They are both faith based films and were more drama films that comedy.  Everyone was super talented and professional.  The whole crew worked extremely hard on theses films.. Long hour day and nights but it is also worth it in the end when you have a great final product!“
Your latest film, Race for Redemption recently went post.  What is your role in this film?
“I play the role of Jeni, a therapist hired to help Rudy overcome his trauma of non-speech due to his father’s death.“
Tell us about working with director Teddy Smith.
“It was great to work with Teddy! He really let the actors be in the moment and kind of feel their characters out.  It was very method and I absolutely loved that! The freedom to go with your instincts and feel and create your own character  is every actors dream!“
“In one scene where it is raining outside was one of the coldest days on set! It was freezing and all my costume was a thin kind of shirt dress. I was freezing! I don’t do cold! I won’t step outside my house if the temperature is young than I am, you know what I mean.  But I got through it! And after every take the crew was so sweet, they had a warm jacket waiting for me! Love those guys!“
We noticed you do quite a few faith-based films, which we love.  What draws you to those films?
“I love to work on these films because they give hope and a renewal of faith to people who need it.  They are just inspiring films to be a part of.“
Have you had the opportunity to incorporate dance into any of your roles?
“No, Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to incorporate dance into a role yet. But I am still hoping that the day will come soon!“
What are you working on now?
“I currently have a couple of projects in pre-production and hopefully starting to film this year. White Lilies and House of Death, one is a horror genre and the other a drama. Both will be directed by British Director and Producer, Brian Skeet.  I am really looking forward to start filming these projects!“
