I like that Masters of Sex was like, "okay we have these two people who did this sex study named Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson and they had a relationship and learned some important stuff about sex" and literally threw everything else out the window.
Both actors chosen are absolutely beautiful, they made up fake children, the real Bill Masters was a total asshole republican and nowhere near as progressive as M.S.'s Bill. M.S. didn't even really read up on Bill Masters before he was cast but I'm so glad that the show was what it was.
By season three, Bill and Virginia may as well have been fictional characters. Minus baby Lisa, Bill, Virginia and Libby, everyone else was basically fictional. It was better for it. Real life humans rarely go through any real character development. It's basically an irl AU. It's wonderful television.

Libby (had cheated on Bill as well) : I know my husband cheats on me with Virginia.
Bill : I know she knows.
Virginia : I know she knows.
Everyone : it's sad, awkward and painful.
Also everyone : lie and pretend to enjoy vacation together ☝️

Bill Masters as a character generates four distinct reactions within me:
Jesus Christ, he's a piece of shit I want him murdered.
Omg nooo, you poor babie ily, come here
Pathetic wet cardboard of a man
Damn he's so gorgeous
And i think they're all very correct

IN THIS HOUSE WE LOVE AND RESPECT LIBBY
i will continue w my pro libby propaganda im so upset she never got to return to the series also she and lilly were 100% bffs who were happy they were gonna have kids at the same time bc they knew theyd train together and become friends and
and then lilly got sick and libby couldn't handle a kid on her own so they went their separate ways, but i think lilly is still looking out for her friend. they went astray, but they'll find each other again
also how i think she'd interact w the others:

Season 3 of masters of sex isn’t as good because mommy and daddy are having a rift and daddy is like “I’m gonna be honest kitten daddy’s gonna kill himself if Virginia keeps seeing this other guy” BUT BUT the lesbians have basically adopted this himbo disgraced-doctor side character who served as their sperm donor and are fully in a lesbian-centric semi-sexual throuple with him. And this show truly sings when it’s in throuple mode

Having finished Masters of Death, I now have hope that The Atlas Complex will have a happy ending where everything will be resolved properly.

Hi! I just started Masters of Death and have currently read all of you traditionally published works except for Alone With You in the Ether. While I’ve been making my way through all of the books I noticed how similar a lot of the worlds feel while still being pretty distinct from each other. So I was wondering if these stories take place in the same world/universe or if they all have different ones that just give off similar vibes? I really can’t imagine that the twins from One For My Enemy could so casually and effortless figure out how to bring people back from the dead in the same universe that Libby Rhodes exists in, though if that was the case I think it would be hilarious.
haha yeah I don't really think of them as being in the same universe, although the book I'm working on now (my next standalone, Gifted and Talented) does kind of approach the question of "can witchcraft/shamanism coexist with a more scientific-based magic system" with the narrator concluding that only an idiot would try to define magic by human rules (that narrator thinks a lot of people are idiots so take that with a grain of salt). anyway yeah I tend to focus on contemporary-feeling worlds that have some extrapolated degree of difference, and I do agree that it would be extremely funny if libby rhodes discovered the antonovas routinely raise people from the dead (can you imagine how frustrating she would find that to be, she and aldo would have a field day trying to figure that out) but also, technically it's possible the antonovas are undiagnosed or improperly diagnosed medeians—necromancy does exist in the atlas series and you'll see a wider variety of specialties in The Atlas Complex. I'm overthinking this. the answer is: I don't consider them to be in the same world. but if I had to build an ideological theme park I could probably figure it out
