Nothing like combining your favorite place, with your favorite pastime! What would you like to do for senior pictures, and where should we go?

Informal family pictures, where the love shines through, are my favorite. There is a time for technical posing (and throwing in some pointers is key), but letting a family's character and dynamics play out, gives genuine results. Especially at the golden hour, when you are lucky enough to live in Longmont, Colorado!

It is always interesting to see before and after pictures.   During your photo-session I always shoot wider to ensure I have maximum flexibility on how to crop and showcase your picture.   It is also really important to capture as many pixels as possible, so that I can work my magic in Photoshop.  Capturing extra flowers is always helpful so I swap out any flowers that have gone to seed.   Loving senior pictures 2021!!

Gotta have fun on your photo-shoot!  I love father and son pictures. You can’t help but enjoy the expressions in this one.  Luckily the picture was taken before, rather than after, Thanksgiving dinner!

Rum Raison, Cherry, Distressed Black and Fine Gallery Black are some of my most popular frames.  My fabulous printer/framer WHCC just brought out Rustic Timber, which I was so excited to see when it arrived!  It is slightly darker than my order screenshot...really rich and gorgeous.  Gotta love the no fuss of  hanging your favorite picture straight on the wall!

I love my job!  Senior pictures are just so much fun....especially when you work with a gorgeous gal, in a cowboy hat, at sunset!

Playful, action shots get the kids so excited in family photo-sessions.  Obviously we had a blast here!  Making the most of fall color...although it is hard to compete with those awesome sneakers!

Hats off to these guys!  They treated their mother to a family photo-session.  It was the first time they’d all been together since Covid and what a great way to ensure they remember the occasion.  Can’t wait until I can do the same with my family!

It was so cold in February that we had to reschedule this maternity session a couple of times.  With a new baby due in less than a week, time wasn’t on our side.  Fortunately the day dawned clear and 40 degrees.  Embracing the  afternoon sun, we made it work....and had a blast!
This collage was one of my favorite series, it just makes me laugh.  One year olds are so entertaining, they find adventure and laughter everywhere.  I love being able to show clients different combinations for picture frames.  Being able to see different shapes, sizes and colors, ensures you make the best decisions for your home wall art.  Having an in person review session makes all the difference.  It you take the time to have beautiful pictures taken, please take the time to determine how best to showcase them...there are so many options to explore!

It seems like I play ”Met Roulette” most afternoons in the summer - waiting to see if bad weather will forces us to cancel a photo-session.  Fortunately our storms blow through pretty fast and usually result in gorgeous evening light.  This particular evening we drove through torrential rain and crazy lightening to get into the mountains.  Even I was getting worried that the glimmer of sunshine in the distance wouldn’t break through.  Everyone else left the car park and we waited....and then waited a bit more.  And...it was totally worth it!!  We ended up with the mountain top to ourselves and were rewarded with not one, but two rainbows.  Thank you to my intrepid senior. Next stop Denali....sorry I won’t be there with you!

We found a little friend during our high school senior photo-session.  We were intrigued to see if he was really a prince in disguise....

Need something to do on a Friday evening this summer?  Take the kids to explore the rope bridges, toast marshmallows and visit all the animals at Sunflower Farm, in Longmont.   Our kids loved doing this when they were young.  Pack a picnic blanket, bring some wine and it is the perfect family night out.  On Friday, July 28th and August 25th I’ll be doing mini family photo-sessions.   I regret that I’m in so few of our family pictures... so I’d love to capture some memories for you.  You could also get a Holiday card picture out of it- how organized would that be!  Call 303 506 0657 or email [email protected] to reserve a time.  So much fun!!

Most of us don’t enjoy posing for pictures. Women are particularly hard on themselves...and we need to get over it!   Our children want to see pictures of us.
To help WINC members feel more comfortable in front of the camera I just hosted a “Posing for Picture Perfection” evening class.  The camera sees things differently and we can definitely use that to our advantage.  Delicious raspberry martinis definitely helped get everyone in the posing mood!
Top tips included: Don’t put a young girls blond hair in a ponytail - it can make her look bald.  Sleeveless tops can make your arms appear larger than they are. Standing 2/3 on to the camera and pushing your hip away will make you appear slimmer.
Thank you ladies for your support - we raised $120 to support educational scholarships!
