La belleza de lo imperceptible

Un día me di cuenta de que me encontraba perdida. Perdida en la monotonía. Al levantarme de la cama, me sentí aún más cansada de lo que habría estado después de un largo día de trabajo. Incluso dormir me cansaba. Todos los días hacía las mismas cosas. Era un ser que se encontraba en modo automático, ni siquiera recordaba lo que había hecho a lo largo del día de tan sumida que estaba en aquel bucle interminable. No había motivación. Vivía en la inconsciencia, en un mundo de ladrillos grises y espejos donde uno ve su propio reflejo y solo ve un fantasma ambulante. 

Mientras caminaba de vuelta a casa, de pronto levanté la cabeza. ¿Hacía cuánto que no veía otra cosa que no fuera un pavimento gris?  Me sorprendió ver el cielo de un tono rosado, como si quisiera convencerme de que existía un mundo mágico más allá de la triste realidad en la cual me encontraba. Observé las nubes y recordé la vieja película de Peter Pan del 2003 donde volaban por los cielos y las nubes parecían algodones de azúcar.

El sol parecía un pedazo de galón de oro brillando a la distancia, ocultándose con lentitud detrás de los estáticos edificios.

De pronto, sentí el suave viento acariciando mi piel. Eso hizo detenerme y me puse a observar los árboles que se balanceaban con suavidad a mi alrededor y algunas hojas que caían dando vueltas, casi como imitando a una bailarina. Inhalé un poco de aquel aire que me rodeaba y pude sentir el aroma del húmedo césped sobre el cual algunos niños jugaban con sus mascotas. El sonido de fondo era tranquilo, pequeñas risas y ladridos, alguna que otra bocina a la distancia, murmullos y el cotidiano ajetreo de la vida mundana. Las cálidas luces de los edificios, alguna que otra música resonando a la distancia… 

Fue como si, súbitamente, me diera cuenta de que estaba rodeada de una completa serenidad.

Aquello me cautivó. Era bello. 

Al oscurecerse, a pesar de que la contaminación lumínica impedía ver las estrellas, una brilló más de lo normal. Fue como si esa noche buscara acompañarme hasta casa. Con cada paso que daba, las luces de los faroles iban encendiéndose guiando mi destino y así continué mi recorrido con una nueva compañera a la distancia. 

De alguna manera había dejado de apreciar los pequeños detalles de la vida, bellos y casi imperceptibles. Pero que, de cierta manera, hacen dar cuenta a uno de que está vivo y que existe, aunque todo a su alrededor parezca ser un mundo sin sentido aparente.

Veía mis cadenas colgar de mis extremidades, me sabía atado a la roca del castigo; hambriento, cansado y afligido, pero nada de eso importaba. Podía volar. Estaba volando. Mis manos tocaban las estrellas, alcanzaban las nubes y bebían de sus algodones la lluvia del amor. ¡Oh, el corazón se me llenaba de vida! Había deseado tanto volar y perderme entre las nubes que olvidé mi lamentable condición como esclavo de la sociedad. Hubiese sido incapaz de vivir así, encadenado a la infructuosa necesidad de una realidad normalizada por mi entorno. Era de los pocos que había comprendido la verdad de las cosas, por eso ya no me dolían las cadenas. Me había liberado sólo con abrir los ojos y elevarlos a la luna. Era una noche digna de vivir. Era mi noche… y nadie podía impedirme soñarla.
