Students at adjacent Tulane and Loyola universities formed a joint encampment for Palestine in front of the universities on busy St. Charles Ave.

In the early hours of the morning on May 1, state, city, and campus police violently attacked the encampment. Students held firm in their resistance, even as they were rounded up and forced onto the St. Charles Avenue median. Fourteen activists were arrested.

all who were arrested have been released and we are working on getting their charges dropped! my close friend was arrested on neutral ground, public, non-university property, and never read their miranda rights. many others are saying the same.

we still need your help. i can only speak for loyola, but call 504-865-3847 and demand that president cole give amnesty to the students that were arrested and not slap them with any student conduct violations!

disclose, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest!

we occupied st. charles avenue for almost three hours today before tulane police and NOPD showed up in riot gear to clear us off the street. more is to come from the students of tulane and loyola, we will never be complicit. from new orleans to gaza to the west bank, free palestine. demand these schools (especially tulane, recent hosters of *dinner with an idf soldier*,) divest from israel and end their complicity and funding of genocide.

Me gusta Santos/Loyola pero si es one sided es un poco gracioso. Imagínate que eres un policía y te joden todos los días porque eres torpe Después te enteras que se murió una mujer y le informan a su esposo en el hotel donde se hospedaban. Tremendo, pero probablemente normal en tu profesión. LUEGO llega un tipo (que por lo que sabes es solamente un espectador corriente) y le cuentas todo, normal. No es la gran cosa, solo se suicidó y no es un secreto. Tu jefe es un insensible que no piensa en los sentimientos de la gente y te dice que eres sopa. Normal, sigues trabajando normal. Vas a cuestionar a los testigos y, ah mira, ahí está el tipo que al que le contaste todo. Con un libro de Sherlock Holmes en la mano y tres tipos completamente serios. Responden a tus preguntas uno por uno pero el tipo se queda callado hasta que te pregunta por el auto, a ver si había algo de malo con el auto. Y luego suelta el libro y es Estudio en Escarlata. Te encantaba Sherlock Holmes de chico. Que genial.

INMEDIATAMENTE después el tipo empieza a interrogarte a ti, sobre la autopsia, sobre la causa de muerte, la distancia y quienes fueron a reconocer a la mujer. Le cuentas sobre la póliza y ni siquiera cuestionas por qué te pregunta todo esto. Tu jefe te pregunta que chucha haces y defiendes al tipo lector porque te parece que tiene intuición. ENTONCES el tipo se enfrenta a tu jefe y saca su versión de los hechos Y le dice que tienes una corazonada, que te escuche. No solo eso sino que le saca la mierda verbalmente. Te pides una bombita de 70 watts y obviamente se la consigues. Ves que los tipos se organizan en una manera que no entiendes. Hacen algo. RESUELVEN el caso y consiguen a los culpables. Al final el tipo te explica todo el plan. Luego le entregas la bombilla y le preguntas como lo averiguó y te explica y dice algo sobre pastillas??? Aparte la bombilla no era para nada. Te da las gracias y te dice que no eres estúpido y que quizás lo tuyo no es el dominio del cuerpo sino la intuición. Te da las buenas noches y se pone su gorrito de Sherlock Holmes mientras fuma una pipa.
