TV Guide  -  May 9 - 15, 1964
Victor Morrow (born Victor Morozoff; February 14, 1929 – July 23, 1982) Film and television actor. He came to prominence as one of the leads of the ABC drama series Combat! (1962–1967), which earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Continued Performance by an Actor in a Series. Morrow continued acting up to his death during filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) when he and two child actors were killed by a stunt helicopter crash.
Morrow began appearing on television in the early 1950′s, guest starring on shows like The Millionaire, Matinee Theatre, Climax!, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Restless Gun, Trackdown, Richard Diamond, Private Detective, and Telephone Time.
Despite appearing in movies Morrow remained mostly a television actor, appearing in Naked City, Wichita Town, The Rifleman, The Lineup, Johnny Ringo, The Brothers Brannagan, The Law and Mr. Jones, The Lawless Years, The Barbara Stanwyck Show, General Electric Theatre, Target: The Corruptors, The Tall Man, Outlaws, Bonanza, Death Valley Days, Alcoa Premiere, Suspense, The Immortal, Dan August, Hawaii Five-O, Mannix, Sarge, McCloud, Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law and The Untouchables.
He was cast in the early Bonanza episode "The Avenger" as a mysterious figure known only as "Lassiter" – named after his town of origin – who arrives in Virginia City, and helps save Ben and Adam Cartwright from an unjust hanging, while eventually gunning down one sought-after man, revealing himself as the hunter of a lynch mob who killed his father; having so far killed about half the mob, he rides off into the night, in an episode that resembles the later Clint Eastwood film High Plains Drifter. Morrow later appeared in the third season Bonanza episode "The Tin Badge".  (Wikipedia)
Rick Jason (born Richard Jacobson; May 21, 1923 – October 16, 2000) Film and television actor most remembered for starring in the ABC television drama Combat! (1962–1967).
In the 1950′s Jason received offers for television series. He guest-starred on ABC's anthology series, The Pepsi-Cola Playhouse. In 1954, he played Joaquin Murietta, the notorious Mexican bandit of the California Gold Rush, in an episode of Jim Davis's syndicated western series Stories of the Century, the story of a railroad detective investigating crime in the American West. He appeared on the NBC interview program Here's Hollywood, in the Rawhide episodes "Incident of the Coyote Weed" and "Incident of the Valley in Shadow", and co-starred in 1969 in The Monk.
In 1960, he starred as insurance investigator Robin Scott in The Case of the Dangerous Robin, a syndicated American television series that lasted only one season. It was not renewed due to Jason's health issues, including back problems. In 1962, he began starring in the television series Combat! as Platoon Leader 2nd Lt. Gil Hanley, probably his most memorable role. In this series he shared the starring role in an alternating episode rotation, with Vic Morrow as Sgt. Chip Saunders, though in many episodes they both appeared. The show was a hit that lasted for 152 episodes in five seasons.  (Wikipedia)
The outlandish TV Spoof was the British Series, “The Avengers”, starring Patrick McNee and Honor Blackman.

'Smallville,’ ‘Saved by the Bell’ Stars Plus Levi Next Celebrity Wave at FAN EXPO Philadelphia
Tumblr media
If fans thought that FAN EXPO Philadelphia was bringing the best celebrity lineup ever to the City of Brotherly Love, just wait until they see today's wave of guests announced for the event, set for June 2-4 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Eight headliners from popular shows and films keep the list growing, as Tom Welling, Kristen Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum (“Smallville”); Mark-Paul Gosselar and Mario Lopez (“Saved the Bell”); Giancarlo Esposito (“Mandalorian”); Zachary Levi (Shazam!); and Hayden Christensen (Star Wars franchise) join a roster already brimming with standouts from across the pop culture world.
Welling is probably best known for his role as “Clark Kent” in "Smallville.” He has also played “Lt. Marcus Pierce / Cain” in “Lucifer” and “’Karate Rob’ Meltzer” in “Judging Amy” and has had roles in the films Cheaper by the Dozen, The Fog, Draft Day and The Choice.
Kreuk appeared on "Smallville" as Clark's original love interest, “Lana Lang” and was also featured as “Catherine Chandler” in The CW sci-fi series "Beauty & the Beast" and as “Joanna Hanley” in the CBC legal drama series "Burden of Truth."
Rosenbaum starred in the role of “Lex Luthor” on "Smallville" and most recently as the character “Buddy Dobbs” on the TV Land series "Impastor." He is also known for voicing “Wally West / The Flash” on the popular animated series "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited."
Gosselar first gained acclaim for his role as “Zack Morris” on the teen comedy “Saved by the Bell,” before longtime roles in “NYPD Blue,” “Raising the Bar” and “Franklin & Bash.” He was also the co-lead in the baseball-themed series “Pitch” and recently had a two-season run as the father “Paul Johnson” in the ABC series “Mixed-ish.”
Lopez also got his start on “Saved by the Bell,” then had long runs on the beach police drama “Pacific Blue” and the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful.” He is known to a whole new audience as the host of the syndicated newsmagazines “Access Hollywood” and “Extra.”
The prolific veteran film, television and stage actor, director and producer Esposito, in addition to his role as “Moff Gideon” on the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian,” is well known by television audiences for his iconic portrayal of drug kingpin “Gus Fring” in AMC’s critically acclaimed award-winning series “Breaking Bad.”
Levi took a superhero turn in the title role of 2019’s Shazam! among a busy resume that features more than 70 roles in such popular series as “Chuck,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Less than Perfect.” He lent his voice talents to the full run of “Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure” and has more than a dozen other voice credits supplementing his body of work.
Christensen starred as “Anakin Skywalker” in the Star Wars prequels Episode II - Attack of the Clones in 2002 and Episode III - Revenge of the Sith in 2005. He’s had lead roles in the films Jumper and Shattered Glass and has appeared in more than 30 other series and movies.
The eight blend nicely into a slate which includes icon Michael J Fox, his Back to the Future costars Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson; Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” “Barry”); Christina Ricci (“The Addams Family,” “Wednesday”); Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man); “Arrow” stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards; “Punisher” standout Jon Bernthal; “Daredevil” headliners Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox; “Stranger Things” breakouts Joseph Quinn and Grace Van Dien; Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings, Rudy); Peter Weller (Robocop, Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension); Katee Sackhoff (“The Mandalorian,” “Battlestar Galactica); and Bonnie Wright (Harry Potter).
Advanced Tickets for FAN EXPO Philadelphia are on sale through May 18 at www.fanexpophiladelphia.com, with discounts on individual day, 3-day and Ultimate Fan Packages available for adults, youths and families. “This is a piece of fanart by the amazing Paul Hanley called The Baker Street Justice Society (published in 2012). The members consist of an elderly Dr. Jackson Lake, H.G. Wells, Leela, Capt. Jack Harkness, Jago & Litefoot, "Doktor Von Wer" (Second Doctor), Vastra and Jenny (I'm sure Strax is not far behind), Holmes & Watson, and "Lt. Colombo" (11th Doctor). “

So I made a theory. Or headcanon. So if you watch Combat! in the right order. “Survival” And then “No Time For Pity” So I was thinking. In no time for pity. Saunders is still healing from when his hands got burned bad. Because he has a bit of long hair and is scruffy. So he is like not at 100% yet. And that is why Hanley does his mission alone. He wants Saunders heal up some more before he can do any crazy missions. But I do know they like Hanley to be a spy sometimes 😂

TV Guide -  June 15 - 21, 1963
(Wikipedia)

A black man has been hailed a hero after he saved the life of a white cop who got trapped in his burning patrol car during a horror crash - despite being wronged by police in the past. Daylan McLee, 31, from Pennsylvania, ran to help Jay Hanley after he heard the officer get into a crash while having a Father's Day barbecue at his house on Sunday. McLee 'ripped open' the patrol car's door and dragged Hanley to safety as the vehicle burst into flames, meaning he escaped with non-life threatening injuries. McLee risked his life to save Hanley despite suing the Pennsylvania police department for wrongful arrest in 2018 after he spent a year in jail because officers mistook him for a gunman during a brawl. He is currently fighting a charge of resisting arrest against the same department, claiming he was kicked in the mouth during his arrest. McLee said: 'We need to work on our humanity... that's the main problem of this world. 'We're stuck on how to get up or to get even, and that is not how I was raised to be. You learn, you live, you move on and I was always taught to forgive big. 'You can't base every day of your life off of one interaction you have with one individual.' The incident comes amid anti-racism protests across America sparked by the killing of George Floyd during an arrest in Minneapolis. Speaking about the rescue itself, McLee said: 'I don't know what came across me, but I ripped the door open and just pulled him to safety across the street.' Uniontown Police Lt. Thomas Kolencik's voice cracked as he told WTAE-Pittsburgh at the scene Sunday that the department was thankful McLee was nearby when the crash happened. 'Daylan actually said, `I´m not going to let him die,´' Kolencik told the TV station. 'There´s just no words to describe, you know.' Several of Officer Hanley's relatives had thanked McLee on social media Sunday and Monday, noting the officer was undergoing surgery after the crash for a serious leg injury. One of the television's most popular series, the groundbreaking Combat!! offers a gritty, unflinching look at American soldiers battling in Europe during World War II, confronting imposing odds and demonstrating remarkable levels of ingenuity and courage.
Hailed as one of the best episodic television series about World War II, ABC's Combat! arrives on DVD with its first 16 episodes in a heavily annotated four-disc set that's sure to please its longtime fans. The men of King Company's second platoon (a.k.a. King Two) are the focus of this gritty and realistic series; led by Lt. Gil Hanley (Rick Jason) and Sgt. Chip Saunders (Vic Morrow in an Emmy-nominated performance), King Two fought its way across France for five seasons, beginning in 1962 with the 16 episodes gathered here. The storyline kicks off shortly after D-Day and carries the platoon up to the liberation of Paris, which concluded the season (the second half of season 1 is featured in a separate four-disc set). Cast members rotated in and out of service (Tom Lowell's Pvt. Billy Nelson is apparently killed in "The Celebrity," yet returns to the platoon shortly thereafter), but viewers could count on each episode to deliver both solid action and dramatic direction from the likes of Robert Altman and Burt Kennedy, as well as excellent turns by guest actors as Tom Skerritt and Harry Dean Stanton.
Image's Combat! Season One: Campaign One establishes a watermark for other studios and distributors to follow with their own vintage television DVD sets. Commentary tracks by Robert Altman, first assistant director Michael Caffey, and actor Tom Lowell are featured on three episodes, while several other key participants, including actor Pierre Jalbert (Caje), directors Richard Donner and Ted Post, and Combat!episode guide author Jo Davidmeyer are featured in interviews for the featurette "Memories of Combat!." Davidmeyer also provides interesting factoids about each episode in the scene selection menus. A gallery of production photos rounds out the uniformly excellent supplemental features. Image's comprehensive boxed set is a must-have for devotees of the series and WWII drama in general. --Paul Gaita
