I have BOTH but sense I fear long posts I'll just do Zarya for now...

One aspect about them I love

She's so nice!! I know that sounds really boring but I think about it all the time because like! How easy is it to make Big Russian Lady also big scary big serious. Zarya is super kind, she's even more friendly. I think about her interaction with Alejandra from Searching a lot. It's clear she's a very patient, nurturing person to me. Kind and careful.

One aspect I wish more people understood about them

I feel like out of all the character's, Zarya's the one the fandom has the most universal take on. I don't see a lot of variation in how she's written between fanon content, so I don't have anything to put here.

Headcanons i have about this character

Lesbian queen we love her

A really big fan of cute things, has plushes and cute tea sets. Likes to show them off

She bakes!! Cakes and cookies and brownies she's a real pro

But she can't cook actual food very well.

One character I love seeing them interact with

I'm so incredibly Biased but Lynx!!! Lynx17 her sassy Gay They/Them!!! NBLM WLW Solidarity!!!

It's in part just because I love Lynx17, but also because I love seeing Zarya soften up at an Omnic, they are her friend, human, Omnic, or otherwise. I'd love to see more of them in the future breaking down Zarya's biased, and also bullying her as she deserves. They're a good dynamic; Smarmy Twink and Himbo Lesbian.

One character I wish they would interact with/interact with more

Firm believer in Zarya/Roadhog besties!! They are Big Buffs with a love of Soft Cute Things and Omnic Trauma and I just think!! They should hang out.

It goes hard with my age regressor Roadhog headcanon as well I think she'd make a very good caregiver for him on top of just. Being a very good, healthy relationship for him to have.

Lynx17 fixes her Omnic Bias, she fixes Roadhog's Omnic Bias, Roadhog fixes Junkrat's Omnic Bias, and then Junkrat and Lynx17 make out really hard. Is this too much to ask for?

Headcanons I have that involve them with other characters

Well I just said my biggest one with her being Regressed Mako's main CG. I want to see her carrying him on her hip with one arm like it's no big deal. It's what he deserves.

I think she gets along really well with Cassidy, in a "This is my weird little brother" kind of way? She picks him up like a kitten and pats his back too hard when laughing at his jokes

Brigette looks up to her (has a littol crush on her?) and they work out together!! Zarya also likes to watch Brigette work sometimes

She's oddly soft to Bastion. She refuses to comment on it, but it's because he acts a lot like her baby niece back home

She's the only one (other than Junkrat) to laugh at Winston's puns genuinely, though a handful of them go over her head

Reinhardt likes to challenge her to arm wrestling matches, he's yet to win one, but they've called a draw a handful of times

I think out of everyone she'd get along the worst with Torbjorn. Not for anything he does, just because she can't take him very seriously.

Heyo! Admin Sombra here to say that we’re scrapping the old way that we did the roster updates and most wanted posts! Whumptober Day 12 - “Don’t Move”

“How much longer?” Zarya didn’t look back at Lynx17, keeping her eyes on the war-torn landscape out the window. She’d never been this deep into enemy territory, and certainly never this close to the Siberian Omnium. They were in what used to be an office building, long since abandoned, but with enough undamaged electronics to get what they needed.

“I think I’ve almost got it,” Lynx17 worked at the console, their synthetic fingers tapping against the keyboard.

A keyboard! An actual, physical keyboard, not a holopad. And Lynx17 was plugged into the tower with a physical wire. A USB cable, they had said. There was no monitor or holoprojector, but Lynx17 said they didn’t need one while directly interfacing. Zarya wondered how long this place had been abandoned for it to have such old tech. Old or not, if Lynx17 could get the data they needed, it might be enough evidence for the both of them to end this fake war.

“Almost there…just need to copy the files and–” Lynx17 cut off with burst of static.

Zarya snapped her head over to see the omnic stiffen.

“What? What is it?”

“I’ve tripped an alarm!” Their fingers flew faster over the keyboard.

“You what? We have to go!”

“No, I almost have it! I just need another seventy-eight seconds and I’ll have the data!”

“We don’t have the time!” Zarya hefted up the particle cannon.

“If we leave now, everything we done will have been for nothing!”

“If we don’t leave now, we are going to get killed!”

“You don’t–” Lynx17 cut off, their antennae lifting like a rabbit picking up a sound. “They’re coming. Hide! Under the desk!”

“If we kill them, they can’t send reinforcements!”

“If you don’t kill them fast enough, they’ll send out a signal for reinforcements and we’ll have to fight all the way back to the Front!”

Zarya hesitated.

“Hurry!”

She let out a growl of frustration, but clambered under the desk beside Lynx17. They barely fit, Zarya’s muscular form taking up most of the space, with Lynx17 pressed against her, the cable still connected to them as they frantically kept downloading. Finally, Zarya heard a faint hum, growing louder with each second.

“Don’t…move…” Lynx17 whispered, and went deathly still in the way that only a machine could.

Zarya raised the collar on her heavy parka to cover her nose and mouth and fell silent, focusing on holding still. The mechanical humming grew louder, high and shrill. Zarya couldn’t see the door from this angle, but a shadow passed across the floor and stopped.

The monotone hum continued, and a red beam of light passed through the room. Zarya tensed and tightened her grip on her particle cannon. Lynx17 closed their fingers over hers, and Zarya flicked her gaze in their direction. As an omnic, they couldn’t express emotion with their face, but she’d been with Lynx17 long enough to understand what the motion meant.

Please. Please don’t. Please trust me.

Zarya remained still. The beam of light passed over the desk, then shut off. The enemy omnic drone churned with a groaning, whirring noise, then left the room. They remained motionless until the humming faded into the distance, the drone returning to its patrol path. Zarya relaxed her grip and sighed.

“…Thank you,” Lynx17 squeezed back out from under the desk and unplugged the USB from their neck. “I’ve got the data we need. Let’s get the hell out of here.”

They offered a hand to help Zarya to her feet.

“I couldn’t agree more.” She accepted Lynx17’s cold, metal hand.

How strange it was, Zarya thought as they started the long, dangerous trek back to the Front. All this time she spent fighting omnics, and it was one rabbit-eared sarcastic omnic she trusted more than anyone else.

The world was truly changing.

🌈 - Do you have any LGBTQ+ headcanons about your f/o(s)?

Yes absolutely and always I wanna start with an all encompassing thought; by default most Omnics are Transgender due to the nature of being built genderless, thus to take on a human gender identity (male/female) is to be by definition Transgender (a person whose gender identity does not correspond with the gender they were assigned at birth)

Zenyatta is a He/Him Panromantic, Asexual Trans Man who found his name and gender identity after arriving at the Shambali

Maximillien is a He/Him Gay Trans Man, he usually presents masculine but would rock a runway dress and make-up at a non-business related party

Ramattra is currently using He/Him pronouns from having a generally masculine build in the eyes of humans and hasn't really considered he could do something else. In actuality he is a She/Her Demiromantic Asexual Trans Woman

BOB is an Any Pronouns Pansexual Trans Masc, he got his name and gender from Ashe and is pretty content being the man she can count on

Lynx17 canonically uses They/Them pronouns, making them one of few "Cis" Omnics, though their identity with gender isn't cis in a human identifiable way. I love them. Robot Gender identities you could never understand. Also they're Gay love men that bunny.

Iggy is a She/They Bisexual Trans Woman who canonically got her name from her favorite band; Iggy Pop

Bars is an It/They Heteroflexable Agender Trans Masc. This is pure headcanon we know nothing about Bars other than their Fan wiki using It/Its pronouns for them which may just be because they are an Omnic. We don't know, I choose to believe it uses those pronouns by choice.
