I know we're in the era of Souls-likes and we've had some real BANGERS in that regard (Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P, etc.), but it makes me sad that Mortal Shell went unplayed by so many.

Not gonna lie, the game had more jank than substance at times, and only two bosses were fun to fight, but the VIBES had me from start to finish.

Wearing the flesh of mighty warriors like skin-walking child of a dead god was just...so cool, y'know? Crawling through the dessicated husk of what's probably the Foundling's mother and then taking down a mutated, bird-like eldritch knowledge addict, leading to a Nietzchean Eternal Return through the misty, awful world of Tar addicts and monsters. Yeah, that's my jam.

Oh I see so Mortal Shell took Souls' aspect of being overly obtuse and cranked that shit to 11 eh. Confusing on purpose as a game mechanic because you were just born. Alright I can dig it.
