I want to read solo leveling fics that incorporate more of seoul's special characteristics.

For instance, Seoul has a LOT of underground markets. Some of the underground markets are connected to the metro stations. Some of them are not. They are all great for crossing busy intersections without waiting for the pedestrian lights to turn green - you can just take the stairs down to the underground market and go through one of the dozens of exits they have.

Beru, as an ant, naturally likes hanging out at the underground markets the most. Being underground is the most comfortable to him and his ant instincts.

(But also think about social media. There's going to be dozens of tiktok videos about how, when visiting Seoul, make sure to stop by the Hapjeong Station's underground market because S ranked Hunter Sung Jinwoo's monster is known to be a regular visitor at the rice cake stall there. And that's station is a 5 minute walk from the World cup Market (Mangwon Market) anyways, so you should stop by that station regardless.)

S ranked Sung Jinwoo, now that money isn't a problem, takes his sister out for a day at Lotte World, an amusement park.

What about how Sung Jinwoo's very basic English skills is the result of him having a go at being a street food vendor in downtown Myeongdong night market where much of the foreign tourists couldn't speak Korean? He sold Japchae noodles for 5000 won a serving.

D for Dinner

Hello there people, I’m sorry to post this late, how are you been? I hope that good, me? I’m overthinking a lot of stuff and I need to settle my ideas but fine in some way, I hope you're doing fine and if not hope your week gets better. I leave you with this drabble and hope makes your week better and make you smile.

Most of the times dinners wheren't normal either, sometimes you eat at home while he eats at job, or sometimes he arrived at the time you’re making dinner, but he already had something, or other times none of you have eat at all... 

“Jagi, I’m home” he shouts on the entrance door while changing his shoes into his slippers.  

“In the kitchen” you respond, “I was about to start dinner; did you eat something, or you would join me?” you question once he enters the kitchen. 

He hugs you by the back once he reaches you, resting his chin on your shoulder “I didn’t, but let’s go out”  

“Nothing fancy” you respond turning your head to see him.  

“Anything you would like” he responds pecking your lips “I will go change” he pulls apart, going into the master bedroom. 

“Tteokbokki, jjajangmyeon and fried chicken” you state more than question him “Gwangjang or Mangwon market?” you suggest. 

“Mangwon market” he confirmed from the room to then appear a few minutes later dress in black jeans, shirt and hoodie in the living room “here, it’s chill outside” giving you a hoodie.  

You take the hoodie from him and put it on “don’t forget our face mask” he nods taking them out the drawer next to the door. 

Holding hands and staying side by side due the chill but nice weather you reach your destination, stepping inside the building you start looking around for your desire treats, finding them not to far from each other.  

“Tteokbokki, jjajangmyeon, fried chicken and our drinks” he confirmed taking everything out of the bag and place it on the park table, that you found not far from the market. 

“It's everything I need” you mentioned but not looking at the food but at him with a smile on your face.  

He responds with his eye-smile “everything that I need” he confirmed.

“I moved here to the Ttukseom Hangang Park area. I wanted to change up my bus commute, so I get off the bus around here and walk about 30 minutes home. Before I moved, I lived near Mangwon Hangang Park. It’s the exact same Han River that I saw over there, but I like how this view is different.” “Do you intentionally look for places to live near the river?” “Nah, and actually, I probably wouldn’t be able to keep living near the Han River if I did. Life never goes as planned, you know?”

Baru-baru ini, San E dilaporkan ke polisi usai dituduh melakukan tindakan kekerasan kepada seorang pejalan kaki. Kasus hukum rapper tersebut masih dalam tahap penyelidikan.

 San E menyampaikan permintaan maaf publik usai dilaporkan atas tuduhan kekerasan terhadap seorang pejalan kaki. Saat ini, rapper itu tengah diselidiki pihak berwajib.

Pada Senin (19/8/2024), San E melalui perwakilan hukumnya menyampaikan permintaan maaf atas tindak kekerasan yang dilakukan. Rapper tersebut mengaku ingin bicara dengan korban lebih dulu sebelum membuat permintaan maaf publik.

"Saya meminta maaf kepada korban atas insiden kekerasan saya baru-baru ini," rapper tersebut menyatakan, "Saya harus membuat permintaan maaf resmi dalam sebuah pernyataan terlebih dahulu, namun, saya ingin bertemu dengan korban secara langsung dan meminta maaf."

Selain meminta maaf, San E juga meminta siapa pun untuk tidak ragu-ragu dalam menegurnya. Ia paham betul sudah membuat banyak orang kecewa.

“Saya meminta maaf kepada banyak orang yang merasa kecewa karena kesalahan saya. Tolong tegur saya atas kesalahan saya,” imbuh San E.

Perwakilan hukum San E menambahkan, “Kami akan sepenuhnya bekerja sama dengan penyelidikan dan melakukan yang terbaik untuk meminta maaf kepada korban serta mendukung pemulihan mereka.”

Sebelumnya pada Sabtu (17/8/2024), San E kabarnya dilaporkan ke polisi karena menyerang seorang pejalan kaki berinisial A dengan telepon genggam setelah memberitahu A untuk menangani sepeda dengan benar di taman di Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu bulan lalu. Insiden tersebut terjadi pada 28 Juli di sebuah taman di Mapo-gu pada malam hari.

Dari insiden ini, A mengalami cedera di sekitar mata dan beberapa kerusakan pada gigi akibat serangan San E. Meskipun demikian, polisi menunjukkan bahwa insiden tersebut bukanlah kekerasan satu sisi. A juga dilaporkan atas tuduhan kekerasan dan penyeledikan sedang berlangsung terhadap kedua belah pihak.

Dalam hal ini, agensi San E menyatakan, “Penyelidikan polisi pertama dilakukan pada tanggal 17, dan kami akan bekerja dengan setia dalam penyelidikan lebih lanjut oleh polisi di masa mendatang.”

Sementara itu, San E, yang nama aslinya adalah Jung San, debut pada tahun 2010 dan terkenal sebagai produser di acara kompetisi rap popular "Show Me the Money". Dia juga dikenal lewat lagu duet seperti "A Midsummer Night's Sweetness" dan "Story of Someone I Know"

Seoul | Cooking Class

Our final activity of the day was a Korean cooking class that Josh and Alexis generously booked for us! We took yet another metro ride to the Mangwon station and met our hostess for the night, Jomin, outside the market. She runs a cooking class, cookoreanclass.com, out of her home and was excited to be back up and running after Covid lock down. 

It was already dark out and was pouring rain so it was shaping up to be a perfect night for some shopping, cooking, and eating comforting food. Jomin walked us through the market, purchasing fresh vegetables and cuts of meat we’d be cooking with tonight. She pointed out different types of Banchan at shops offering endless varieties of the same, showed us which dried fish made the best stock for soup we’d be cooking vs where to buy premade broth,  and did a great job accommodating a kosher meal with extra mushrooms or tofu in place of pork for Josh. The fried chicken and rice cake desserts at the market looked increasingly delicious, so it was time to get cooking before I got too ravenous. 

Jomin’s apartment was small but tidy and her large kitchen island had a hot plate for each member of the class, with pre portioned ingredients set out. Before we started actually cooking, we mixed together a marinade for pork we’d use in the last dish. While most of the ingredients you could find at a typical grocery store, the asian pear and a specific chili powder would be harder to find, especially the chili because it was difficult to translate what specific type it was to achieve the desired flavor and heat profile. The first dish we made was Kimchi Jigae, a simple soup with tofu, pork shoulder and kimchi. She taught us how to de-head, gut, then toast the dried anchovies to make the umami rich soup base. Japchae was next, a stir fry of glass noodles with pork and vegetables. SaeRam makes this frequently for celebratory gatherings, and I had tried cooking it once before but it was fun to get a third try at a recipe for it and it turned out great. Finally we put our marinated pork to work in Jeyuk Bokkeum, or spicy stir-fried pork where it mingled with cabbage and onions. I love taking cooking classes abroad, and this one was no exception. It was a great time learning some new skills, the food was delicious, and I love that it came with an easy to read cookbook to recreate recipes from this and her banchan, tofu, and kimchi making classes at home. It was fun seeing how similar or different each of our dishes turned out as we interpreted the same instructions differently, and the Makgeolli we tried with dinner was much better than the cable car hooch in Busan. After saying goodbye we  made the soggy trip back to the subway in the rain and took it back to Myeongdong before calling it a night.
