On November 2nd, 2024 at the Burton Cummings Theatre, Winnipeg will be host to a 50th anniversary celebration of Brian De Palma's 1974 cult-classic-horror-comedy-rock-opera…

Paul Williams (Swan) and Peter Elbling, Archie Hahn and Jeffrey Comanor (The Juicy Fruits) will appear as special guests, "along with others" according to the official Facebook post.

The main event at 7PM will feature a screening of the film, a cast QnA session, a costume competition, and a live performance by the tribute band SWANAGE, with more fun to be announced in the future.

In addition, a screening of Malcolm Ingram's Phantom Of Winnipeg documentary will be held on the evening of November 1, hosted by Harold Oblong and featuring Kevin Smith, and a matinee showing of POTP featuring Williams and the Fruits will be held in the afternoon of November 2nd, before the main event.

Tickets to the main event are now sold out, though they are occasionally being officially resold on Ticketmaster, so keep an eye out!

Hiatus Update

I'm so sorry about the lack of... well... ANYTHING. Things have been so crazy these past three years. My wife, who has numerous health issues, had to undergo two major surgeries that left her on bedrest for months, and then she was shortly let go from her jobs. She DID get a chance to be in a Hallmark movie that was filmed close by, though, so that was fun. She even got to meet Michael Ironside himself!! Shortly after that, we were "Legally Harassed" out of our apartment by the landlord's son who took over managing the property because he had another renter willing to pay $300 more a month than what we were. PLUS he claimed to be a rental agent for several major Real Estate companies, yet constantly was trying to violate our tenant rights. Everything he was doing, according to numerous real estate agents we spoke to, was completely legal. Unethical enough that they said he'd be fired immediately if he worked for them, but legal nonetheless. After he managed to trap us into saying something he was able to use as us terminating our lease, we had to move out, so now we're living with my parents in their basement. It's stressful, but they're amazing about it. They're helping us find a new place and, due to my wife having lost so many jobs due to health issues, they're helping her apply for permanant disabilities which is going to be a huge help.

Oh! Before this all went down, though, we managed to have our wedding ceremony and reception on our 5th wedding anniversary. Goddess bless my wife and her obsession with planning ahead and love of research, because she insisted we get married at the courthouse on October 13th, 2018. She was adamant about this date because it meant that our 5th anniversary, as well as our upcoming 10th anniversary, fell and will fall on a Friday the 13th in October!! Perfect for us witchy girls!

We also are attempting to start up new businesses. Our main HQ parent company is now called Two Dumb Queers and we're branching out more. My wife is attempting to start a photography business and has been using her spare time to work on cosplays and more boutique type products with my art on it!

Anyways, I'm still alive and have done lots of artwork. I'm gonna be posting them soon. I'm also going to be selling at the upcoming Winnipeg Comic Con this October, so if you live in Manitoba or are visiting for the event, stop by and say hi!

My upcoming appearances!

I have a novel coming out in November! The Kuiper Belt Job is a caper story in space, a mash-up of Firefly, Leverage, and The Expanse. It's an ensemble piece with complex character relationships and a twisty, compelling plot, but beneath the entertaining surface it raises deep questions about identity and personhood. In a world where minds can be copied, what does it mean to be "me"? I've already set up a bunch of personal appearances to support the novel, with more to come. Here's what I have so far!

Buzzy Buttons had so much fun yesterday at the C4winnipeg.org event. We got to see so many of you and we even got the wonderful chance of selling so many buttons. We spent the night having to press more before today’s event!

So today, I did some volunteer work for the Manitoba Writers Guild at the Manitoba Comic Con. 

Got to promote the Guild, met some aspiring writers, and hopefully, we recruited some people.

I had a quick pop over to Manitoba Comic Con to volunteer for the day as I was needed.  Ended up seated in the booth next to the guest, Richard Brake.  I ended up drawing the Night King and eventually got the nerve to show it to him

IT IS OVER! NO!!! 

So the April 1st and 2nd show was a great hit. We had a lot of fun sitting and chatting with Tom Cook of She-ra (he was beside us!) 

Out Capsule Machine was a huge hit, and we are sad to say the prize didn’t go at all at this event. But that is okay we are tossing More Prize capsules in it and we have more prizes. So YAY! People will be able to pick from a prize bag when they win not just get what is there! WOO HOO!

Any ways we are about to launch our new item! Come back tomorrow to see what it is.
