The most famous members of their groups usually go their own way. Still, I'm unsure how to see Rob Thomas here. His works outside the group overshadowed Matchbox Twenty at the time, though he didn't let the collective became his vehicle, which should be applauded. Nonetheless, when he went completely on his own, he tried to turn into a pop singer with a rock edge, if that makes much sense. I have to admit I find him more interesting than some, since you have a feeling he attempts to be wild, but he always mellows out in favour of listenability. Look, I don't think he should go full Scott Walker, though that would've been something. I'm maybe disappointed he just continues what he does with Matchbox Twenty, he's merely more open about his pop sensibilities here.

Class of 99 - Another Brick in the Wall
Ok, so - todays review is something strange, it's one of those projects where I just wonder who pressed the green light. Not, of course because it was a bad idea, but what were they trying to make happen and why didn't it go further? Class of 99 is a super group consisting of Layne Staley, Tom Morello, Stephen Perkins Martyn LeNoble and Matt Serletic. They don't have a full record out, to my knowledge. But they do have a cover of Pink Floyd's "The Wall." I think doing a cover of Pink Floyd or The Beatles or any other classic band you are setting yourself up. I think that is a very high bar to try to reach. I sincerely appreciate their unique sound and mix of artists that came together to give us an alternative rock cover. I guess the best way to describe the sound is that alternative late 90s sound that blended into the early 2000s rock sound. I quite like it and live to hear Tom Morello rip some riffs.
I am going to use a device dealing with context used by John Berger in his essay on art titled Ways of Seeing. So please go listen to the track before you finish this review.

According to the magazine Revolver this performance was the last time Staley was in a studio before his drug overdose in 2002.

Class of '99 - Another Brick In The Wall (Pt. 2) Featuring Layne Staley & Tom Morello
One of the last songs that Layne recorded was a cover of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" with the supergroup Class of '99, featuring guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, bassist Martyn LeNoble, drummer Stephen Perkins, both from Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros, and keyboardist Matt Serletic.
In November 1998, the group recorded the song for the soundtrack to Robert Rodriguez's horror/sci-fi film The Faculty. A music video was also released. While the other members of the band were filmed specifically for the video, Staley's appearance consisted of footage pulled from Mad Season's 1995 Live at the Moore video.

More Than You Think You Are put Matchbox Twenty closer towards something all successful musicians wish to achieve at one point in their careers. What my verbiage tries to say here – they went on a holiday. Of course, they released an EP before that, which included the acoustic versions of their chestnuts and a song that should've been a part of Mad Season, yet the piece ended up being delegated as a bonus track there you can hear on the link. Yes, the song has the similar issues to those that have the same fate, i.e. you can tell why they weren't included on the albums, though they could find their home elsewhere. However, I do think upon listening to the song Matchbox Twenty could've relaxed themselves more, they will really need to do this in a possible future.

'Pieces' by Rob Thomas
[with my notes to my beloved mates!!!]
Run away, run away if you can't speak
Turn a page on a world that you don't need
Wide awake and you're scared that you won't come down now
Didn't I tell you you were gonna break down
Didn't I warn you, didn't I warn you
Better take it easy, try to find a way out
[of my hell!!! I am!!!]
Better start believing in yourself
We build it up, we tear it down
We leave our pieces on the ground
We see no end, we don't know how
We are lost and we're falling
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Now and then there's a light in the darkness
Feel around till you find where your heart went
There's a weight in the air but you can't see why, why
Didn't I tell you you were gonna break down
Didn't I want you, everybody wants you
Tell me what you're needing, give into your bleeding
Never any feeling for yourself
We build it up, we tear it down
We leave our pieces on the ground
We see no end, we don't know how
We are lost and we're falling
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Didn't I tell you you were gonna break down
Didn't I warn you, didn't I warn you
Better take it easy, try to find a way out
Better start believing in yourself
We build it up, we tear it down
We leave our pieces on the ground
We see no end, we don't know how
We are lost and we're falling
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Hold onto me
You're all I have, all I have
Can you hold onto me
Can you hold onto me
Run away, run away if you can't speak

I listen to every song that You ALLL do my loves. I also look up the lyrics & meanings too. Most touch me in some way, sad, happy, tears, etc. They alll affect me.
I don't know why. But I felt it a necessity to write/note with this one.
Maybe to let You ALLL know that I love You each & every one. That I am holding on to each of You. To ask You Alll to hold onto ~me.~ That I have nothing if I don't have Your/Alll's love, as too God's.
Je t'aime et t'adore mes potes!!!
Forever & Always...
~Yours' ALLL!!!.
