🥳🎉
Happy in-universe birthday, my sweet Megyn 💖
This post is to commemorate both my sim and my simblr. 2 weeks ago (I totally didn't forget...) my simblr turned 3 years old, and now today it happens to be Megyn's canonical in-universe birthday. So it's both my blog's and my sim's birthdays 💖
It really doesn't feel like I've been blogging for 3 years. It's crazy to me, but when I started this blog I hadn't even started college yet, and now I'm a graduate of college with a completely different life
Whether you're here from The Runaway, TDS, or maybe my One Life Challenge, I just wanna say thank you for loving my sims, and for letting me love yours, whether it was through TDS or through me getting involved in your challenges. You are all amazing people and I'm happy I get to be sim buddies with you all 💚

I joined bc of this one specifically. I wanted a place to share her story.
That's literally it. Everything else I've done on here is extra
back to our sim roots: why did you start your simblr?
i just wanted a place to archive my legacy family's posts and had used tumblr many many years ago for other fandoms and purposes.

NYT pans Clinton's "oppressively intelligent press conference" as "boring and too sane"
NEW YORK -- President Hillary Clinton is getting a battering from the media following a Thursday press conference that journalists are criticizing for being "well-informed and sane."
The New York Times editorial board issued a blistering review of the President's performance on Friday morning, saying Clinton's "dazzling intelligence, profound understanding of the Constitution and masterful command of policy is, frankly, annoying."
"Who does she think she is? Hermione Granger? Tracy Flick? Leslie Knope? Clearly, we here at the New York Times editorial board are all feminists. But sometimes, Clinton's virtuosity, work ethic and morally superior belief that she knows what's best for the country becomes unbearable, even for Coastal liberals like us."
The Washington Post was more measured, praising Clinton for responding to the media's questions for over 70 minutes on Thursday "in complete sentences, with a series answers that were remarkable for their intellectual coherence and precision. And she never broke to pee."
Meanwhile, Politico just published a list of "Ten reasons Clinton's excellent press conference will backfire on Democrats in 2028."
On NBC, Megyn Kelly said Clinton's A+ performance could backfire.
"No doubt, this is why polls show Clinton with a soaring approval rating among voters," she said. "But this is also why reporters hate her. No one wants to read about Clinton's excellence, professionalism and courage. They want to read about her enthusiasm problem, aneurysms, and female tendency to lie!"

T-FIGHTING
For this project I set out to create a satirical, topical work using the so-far untapped potential of a specific kind of glitch known as “z-fighting”. Z-fighting occurs in 3D rendering when two images (faces/primitive shapes) occupy the same plane creating an infinite, unresolving flickering effect. Each of the images “fight” for the same space, fragmenting the other over and over again, with neither face ever actually in front of the other. I found it intriguing that there were so many tutorials and guides on how to avoid the technical occurrence of z-fighting, but none utilising it’s potential, so this motivated me to try to create a work that deliberately harnessed and drew attention to the z-fighting effect, instead of it just being an irritating glitch common in video games.
Using Kon Trubkovich’s painted glitch portraits (Leap Second, 2012) and the Glitch art movement as a springboard, I decided to entangle the z-fighting glitch with current, real world issues. I toyed with the idea of taking President Donald Trump and making reference to just a handful of the plethora of people and countries he is engaged in “fighting” with, systematically, verbally or in writing in public spaces including online (with Twitter being Trump’s most obvious platform of engagement on social media).
While theoretically hundreds of images representing these conflicts be made and plastered together to illustrate the proliferation of Trump’s disputes and their impact I settled on eight subjects: A few Heads of State (Hassan Rouhani, Kim Jong-un, Bashar al-Assad), Democratic rivals (Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama), Dean Baquet (Editor of the New York Times), as well as Robert Mueller (Trump-Russia Investigator) and journalist Megyn Kelly. In overlaying the faces of these people with Trump’s face, I wished to use z-fighting to visually represent their respective chaotic conflicts, making them digitally and infinitely “vs” the other, and illustrate how when it comes to conflicts of interest neither party is ever “on top”.
I resolved to edit and crop (8x10) “labelled for reuse” found digital portrait images and place them on top of each other to highlight the dissonance between them, with the orange/red hue of Trump and the purple/blue of the “rival” being playfully reminiscent of the colours of the U.S. flag, and also the saturated hues of on-screen digital media. Presenting them on a black background further alludes to technology’s role in these conflicts and how they are presented to the public. In arranging the digital, gif-like images in a “T” shape and calling my work “T-fighting” in a humorous play-on-words (a combination of Trump & z-fighting), I attempt to refer to Trump’s grandiose sense of self and his wealth inclusive of Trump Tower and the Trump Organisation empire. In experimenting in 2D with watercolour, and static images in photoshop, I arrived at using SketchUp as a way to work digitally in 3D. Using this medium to construct an animation, I sought to create a gallery wall facade and provide an audience with an angled virtual tour of the work, and a theoretical set up for a real gallery space. I created an animation which panned (on angles most suitable for capturing the z-fighting effect) around the entire “T”, giving the audience time to resonate on each image and also take it in as a whole. Working in this medium (SketchUp, and animation) provided me with both the z-fighting effect and control over the placement and viewing of the images in a way that the disjointed arrangement of static images could not. Logistically there may be a way to capture the chaotic z-fighting effect demonstrated in the final animation, and present it on a large screen or series of screens mounted on a wall. In addition, adding 8-bit video game fighting-style music might be a valuable continuation of my concept, playing up the more humourous “fighting” aspect of my work.

In the book, Clinton complained that the “attacks” against her use of the private email server “were untrue or wildly overstated, and motivated by partisan politics.” CLINTON SPOKE ABOUT HER VOODOO DOLL OBSESSION: It was a dumb mistake. But an even dumber “scandal.” It was like quicksand: the more you struggle, the deeper you sink. At times, I thought I must be going crazy. Other times, I was sure it was the world that had gone nuts. Sometimes I snapped at my staff. I was tempted to make voodoo dolls of certain members of the press and Congress and stick them full of pins. Mostly, I was furious at myself. In her previous memoir, Hard Choices, Clinton described attending a voodoo spirit ceremony with a “voodoo priest” during her honeymoon with Bill Clinton in Haiti in 1975. SHE SPOKE ABOUT VOODOO IN HER MEMOIR ‘HARD CHOICES’: One of the most memorable experiences of our trip was meeting a local voodoo priest named Max Beauvoir He invited us to attend one of his ceremonies. We saw Haitians “seized with spirits” walk on hot coals, bite the heads off live chickens, and chew glass, spit out the shards, and not bleed. At the end of the ceremony, the people claimed the dark spirits had departed. CNN Uses Pundits to Attack Trump
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com) June 30. 2017.--Speaking with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in the “Situation Room ” June 29, 45-year-old “conservative” pundit Anna Navarro slammed Trump, insulting the president, only one small step from using censored language.  “Listen, you crazy, lunatic, 70-year-old man-baby, stop it.  You are now the president of the United States.  The commander in chief.  And you need to stop acting like a mean girl.  Because we just won’t take it.  We won’t vote with you. We won’t work with you,” Navarro ranted on Wolf’s show without interruption.  Letting a paid hack go off the rails mirrors the CNN position on Trump, clearly showing what the May 19 Harvard media bias study found that CNN reported negatively on Trump 93% of the time.  Navarro went off on Trump for his tweets on MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.  Navarro showed utmost contempt for Trump, certainly for the presidency.
Let there be no mistake, Navarro represents the opinions of CNN management, allowing her to go off on Trump, giving CNN’s audience everything they want and more.  Liberal print and broadcast news outlets have had a field day attacking Trump, increasing ratings since Trump beat former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton Nov. 8, 2016.  Navarro’s comments were so over-the-top, disgraceful, out-of-control, the network made no attempt to tone her down.  “We have a president who is mean.  We have a president who is nasty.  We have a president who is immature, who is unstable, and who just acts like a crazy person with anybody who attacks him because he has thin skin, and he is never going to pivot,” speaking volumes about Navarro not Trump.  Navarro backed former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in the primaries, watching her candidate eviscerated by Trump before dropping out after South Carolina.
Letting Navarro go off on Trump should remind viewers that CNN has deteriorated into a public relations arm of the Democratic Party. When CNN was forced to fire three journalists June 26 for fabricating a story about Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci, they were caught red handed doing fake news.  Their retraction didn’t stop CNN’s normal programming that’s 100% opposed to Trump.  Letting Navarro rant was Wolf’s way to giving the CNN’s party line about Trump. Navarro couldn’t stomach Trump’s tweet against Mika, calling her out for having some face-work last December.  “I hear poorly rated @Morming Joe speak badly about me [don’t watch anymore]” tweeted Trump.  “Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Pscyho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a facelift. I said no!.”
Navarro’s over-reaction to Trump shows she speaks for CNN, ranting at Trump for defending himself against daily attacks by Joe and Mika. Why the two stayed at Mar-a-Lago shows the stunning hypocrisy of the celebrity crowd, often hobnobbing with their enemies.  When you consider the amount of vitriol toward Trump, it’s hard to believe they’d stay at Trump’s resort. “Journalism in America is dead,” said Fox New host Sean Hannity, showing how political parties have infiltrated the newsrooms of major newspapers and broadcast outlets.  Only Fox News presents positive news on Trump.  Virtually every other broadcast and print outlet makes a field day of attacking Trump and his associates.  As long as the mainstream media continues to attack Trump, expect Trump to counter-attack with biting tweets, something he refined over years hosting NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Since taking office Jan. 20, Trump’s been under constant attack by what Hannity calls the “destroy Trump media,” reserving front-page space and airtime to any concocted story implicating Trump in a Russian conspiracy to win the Nov. 8 presidential election.  Running with every spurious story stemming from Democratic operatives, the media has tried-and-convicted Trump for high-crimes-and-misdemeanors, calling for his impeachment, without any evidence of wrongdoing.  When Trump fired FBI Director James Comey May 9, the media completely ignored Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein’s thre-page letter explaining in great detail why Comey was fired.  Instead the “destroy Trump” media focused exclusively on “obstruction of justice,” again without any proof.  Citing the same polls that had Hillary winning by a landslide Nov. 8, 2016, the media reports only on Trump’s abysmal approval ratings.
CNN CEO Jeff Zucker gave his blessing to Navarro letting her go off on Trump for tweeting about Mika and Joe.  When you consider the barrage of negative reporting by CNN and other liberal news networks, it’s no wonder Trump feels inclined to respond to Navarro calling Trump a lunatic.  Narvarro’s description of Trump says much more about CNN and her views.   When I first saw the tweet this morning, I was frankly disgusted.  I thought to myself, this dude has got a fixation with women and blood.  What’s wrong with him?” asked Navarro, referring to former Fox New host Megyn Kelly’s attacking Trump Aug. 6, 2015 at the first GOP debate.  Letting Navarro go off on Trump gives free X-Ray into CNN’s true corporate view of Trump.  Navarro expressed without restraint exactly what CNN hosts and executives really think about Trump, confirming the network’s egregious anti-Trump bias.

This episode made me cry. Also, the man seated in front of Barry and Robin is Jayden's older brother Dylan! (He deserved a cameo).
Also, Megyn will still be tagged as "Megyn Rodham" for consistency's sake.

Doctor (after leading Molly and Megyn to a secluded area): I'm so sorry to tell you this, but... Nick's brain hasn't shown any activity in the last six hours.
Doctor: After conducting several tests, we've concluded that he is brain dead.
Molly: What? Wh-What does that mean?
Doctor: It means that despite being placed on life support, all functions of the brain have stopped. There is no hope for recovery and the person is legally and clinically dead. I'm afraid Nick's brain injury was too severe for him to recover.
Doctor: I'm so sorry... Please allow me to escort you to his room where you may both have time to say goodbye.

Realistically they would have moved out of that apartment a long time ago, but I didn't want to move them to an entirely new place only for them to move again, so that's why they ended up living in that San Myshuno apartment for ~10 years (consistency/less confusion that way).

Megyn (narrating): He even decided to get a better job so we could sustain ourselves better. He ended up getting a job as a car mechanic.
Megyn (narrating): However, there was still a more pressing problem: we still lived in a one-bedroom apartment.
Megyn (narrating): Since we were gonna have a baby, that meant we needed a new place to live.
Megyn (narrating): While Jayden was feeling stuck on where we could live, I knew exactly where I wanted to go.
Megyn (narrating): Anywhere in Windenburg would have been nice, but... there was one specific place I had in mind: that empty lot in Eva's neighborhood that I spent so much time living on, albeit illegally.
Megyn (narrating): Even after all these years, it was still empty and owned by the state.
Megyn (narrating): So, after pulling some strings, Jayden and I managed to purchase it.
Megyn (narrating): The lot I used to survive and get up onto my feet was going to be the place I would permanently call home...
