Observation – You are given 30 seconds to memorize a bunch of random drawings of items on a page. You are then told to flip the page and alert the instructor as to what is different. Each page, something changes. This tests ability to observe. A home inspector would use this in his or her career.

Color Discrimination – This tests whether you can see small variations in colors. You are given 30 or so beads each slightly varying in color and ask to order them from darkest to lightest.

Structure of the Brain

The brain is composed of the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem.

Cerebrum: is the largest part of the brain and is composed of right and left hemispheres. It performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement. Cerebellum: is located under the cerebrum. Its function is to coordinate muscle movements, maintain posture, and balance. Brainstem: acts as a relay center connecting the cerebrum and cerebellum to the spinal cord. It performs many automatic functions such as breathing, heart rate, body temperature, wake and sleep cycles, digestion, sneezing, coughing, vomiting, and swallowing.

Right brain & left brain

The cerebrum is divided into two halves: the right and left hemispheres. They are joined by a bundle of fibers called the corpus callosum that transmits messages from one side to the other. Each hemisphere controls the opposite side of the body. If a stroke occurs on the right side of the brain, your left arm or leg may be weak or paralyzed. Not all functions of the hemispheres are shared. In general, the left hemisphere controls speech, comprehension, arithmetic, and writing. Precious Lord Jesus, in humility and with our hearts we come before You today, truly desiring to see these promises fulfilled in us as we repent and turn to You with our whole hearts, casting down every idol!  We desire for You to be as the dew to us, drenching us in Your favor and presence

morning by morning.  We pray You would make us to blossom like the lilly for the display of Your splendor, breaking forth from our closed hard hearts into wide open places of true intimacy with You.  As we sit and cultivate intimacy with You, waiting on You for each step, would You make us to soar on wings like eagles in Your presence?   Lord please let our roots go down so deep in You, firmly and permanently grounded in the depths and wonder of Your love.  It's Your presence and Your love that make us shiny and beautiful!  We ask to be so consumed and drenched in Your love that it would make us stand out beautifully for Your glory Lord.  Lord we desire that You would manifest through us the sweet aroma of a true knowledge of You in every place we go!  Lord for our children and those you have placed under our sphere of influence, we ask that they would know what it means to truly live by our example.  We ask that they would not learn from us how to be white washed tombs!  LIVE through us please Lord!  Let Your Spirit break every chain in our hearts of idolatry and harlotry and religion so that we can leave a legacy of what it means to truly abide in Your sacrificial, undeserved, forgiving, faithful, kind, intimate, omnipotent, accepting, more than enough, agape love.  We ask to live in such a way that the ripple effects of Your love through us would continue for generations after us!  In Jesus' most Precious and Holy Name, amen.
