continuing from this post, i think i’ve figured out why i ship talisto and i blame it all on holly black: jude duarte and cardan greenbriar are talia and mephisto coded.

lemme try to explain the dynamics.

Jude & Talia

What’s there to say? They’re both badass strategists and natural-born leaders. They will make themselves heard and will not take nor tolerate bullshit. They are both clever with their plans and also don’t trust easily. Their guards are up constantly and they don’t tell their allies/friends everything (ie Jude’s coup and the whole Princess Brenda thing). They have also adapted to the rapid and traumatic changes in their lives — Jude with the murder of her parents and Talia with the fall of Xeris — and of course the adapting to a new world.

Sure, Jude takes things to an extreme by pursuing murder on occasion, but you can’t tell me that Talia wouldn’t do the same in her shoes (albeit with some hesitancy, but none the less will do so as a last resort). These two girls are a force to be reckoned with, and do all the research necessary to make sure they know all the facts and know all the plays to win.

Cardan & Mephisto

I don’t need to explain this. It’s so obvious that Holly went so far as to basically make Mephisto Cardan’s faceclaim.

Cardan and Mephisto are both younger siblings, so they are familiar with the shadow of their older — and better, in the eyes of their father figures or something — siblings. They also both have no shame in being the villain of their stories while also being sorta carefree and charismatic I MEAN LOOK AT THEM!! But they also, deep in the core of their soul, have goodness and love inside, and a strong urge to protect and sacrifice everything for those closest to them (Jude and Praxina respectively). They grow over the duration of their screentime/booktime into lovable and openly more caring characters.

Seriously guys the parallels between them are right fucking there.

Jurdan & Talisto

What else can I say? Enemies-to-lovers is the superior trope and if the Jurdan dynamic — while slightly questionable bc ✨bully romance✨ and just general canonical confusion — doesn’t give you tingles, imagine the applied to Talisto’s already current dynamic. I can already see Talia’s fuming face ready to absolutely destroy Mephisto and his obnoxious, degrading laughter as he walks away in Faerieland during their lessons. I can also see how the turns have tabled with Talia holding a knife to Mephisto’s neck and Talia’s grinning face as she pulls of the greatest coup in history…

I guess what I’m saying is that I would not be opposed to a Talisto Cruel Prince AU because it just makes sense.

No, it's been ten years!” Gramorr said in an awfully cheery tone, “Gramorr.” you said in a cold voice although you couldn’t see his face you could tell he was hurt by your cold tone of voice. “Now, now, what's with the cold voice? Are you still upset because I killed your mother and father?” Gramorr said to you, “Yes! You took my family’s land and kingdom!” You said in an angry voice, you were getting mad and madder as the time went by, but the anger and rage will be gone, your dear old father Gramorr will make sure of it.

Talisto Week Day 1:

Music Makes Us Better

I love that one of the first things Talia wants to tell her sister is that she's in a band. I think Izira loves music as well and would probably think Lolirock is very cool. So when Talia feels homesick, or misses her sister, she makes music. Mephisto doesn't know much about it, but his mother use to sing to him and Praxina so he finds himself listening to the girls play more often than he likes to admit. Izira's birthday gift to Talia is a piece from home, a Xerin piano small enough to fit in her room. The girls find him listening to Talia play it and convince her to give him lessons.

Her voice reminds me a lot of Tori Kelly's and @carmtoons helped me pick out a lovely piano unrehearsed performance she did with Jon Batiste of her song "Language."

I wanted them to be completely unaware of their feelings changing in this one. Perhaps it turned out right? Checking it out! ♡

One time she saw another women touching your elbow, and she could tell you were uncomfortable with it, but didn't want to be rude, so she did it for you

Lucky [or unlucky] Iris, Talia came and got her, telling you she needed Iris' help

Mephisto

He met you in one of his many disguises

He had seen you in the corner of his eye and chased you down

Praxina finds Mephisto's crush on you slightly annoying

Anytime he sees you when they're fighting the girls, he'll leave the battle to talk to you

Though she's not surprised by her brother's incompetence

When he realizes he really, Really, REALLY likes you, he gets blushy around you and his face goes bright red

He's quite protective over you and will catch you if you ever trip

He loves listening to you ramble

He'll make sure he's always the center of your attention

He's always ditching his sister in favor of you

If fact you didn't realize he had a sister, until they both ran into you one day

"Hi- uh Y/n," he awkwardly waved, his voice cracking, with Praxina glaring at you both

"Who's this brother?"

He blushed, quickly answer, "That's Y/n!"

She rolls her eyes, before grabbing his arm and dragging him it off

She reprimands him for gaining feelings for someone

When she realizes that he really likes you, she says that he could potentially be putting you at risk

Doug didn't believe that Nathanial really knew when you were near, so Doug sent you on a goose chase, to make you late and caught wind you were late really quick, but right when you were around the corner he got started on your drink

Doug was jaw dropped when he saw you enter and Nathaniel handed you your drink

"I couldn't find a 'Flashing Hammer.' When I asked some employees they laughed at me?"

"He sent you on a goose chase Y/n. All that for me to be right"

Now that that's out of the way let's get to it! PS: I'm really new to Tumblr so please bare with me

Sooooo Lolirock season 2 hmmmm? So many episodes are my favourites but I gotta say, I was SO not ready for Crown Glory part 1 ( even more for part 2 ;^;)

First off, I absolutely love it when the evil twins are in disguise and this episode is no exception. Mephisto went all out, even changed his voice! Also Iristo Gloryyyy

And can we just appreciate all these precious moments

Fanboy Mephisto is best boi (I mean he even tried to dance with them please BXJSJSJSSBSJDNDJDBDJDNDDJD)

We finally see Mephisto watching Lolirock's concert (for 5seconds) but still it was something I've always wanted to see in an episode👏

That brings us to my ABSOLUTE favourite part! After Iris has her little kiss with Nathaniel, he gets cristalised while Iris gets blasted in the air.

At first she stares at Nathaniel, who's still trapped in the green cristal, but then OhHohO there is Alan "crying" all over the place.

Iris is obviously like "wtf is Alan doing here?" and then we have this moment *drumrolls*

"Fooled you big time princess. It's me your BEST BUDDY."

Is my Iristo side showing? Cause I'm wheezing at this scene.

Day 2: Gender Swap

Trevyn would never admit to himself but he was regretting coming to this charity event. Sure, donating to a good cause was important to him and this would be great P.R. for the band but it really wasn’t the scholar’s scene. He would much rather be home with his books. Amber colored eyes wandered to the woman on his right chattering up a storm, he quickly got the idea that she wasn’t really looking to hear his option on anything in particular but rather her own voice. “ Ah huh” He said politely praying someone would put him out of his misery, relief came in the form of a pixie hair burgundy colored woman in an emerald dress.

“Oh! Hey, sorry to interrupt but I got to ask, are you Trevyn from Star☆Rise, could I get a selfie for my sister?” the young woman asked politely looking between him and the woman. The woman was going to dismiss her but Trevyn didn’t hesitate in taking the escape.

“I am, I'm sorry miss, I don't want to disappoint my fans. It was nice meeting you” He politely excused himself from the conversation offering his arm to the young lady as they walked away  making a comment about better lighting over there. She coyly glanced back after they were a good distance away “ And you’re in the clear, sorry about that you looked like you were having a really tough time there.” She whispers patting his shoulder. “ You don’t come to these things often huh?” He looks down at her genuinely surprised but smiles softly in thanks “ That obvious?” She grins “ Yes, but that’s okay handsome. Stick with me. I'll give you Myra's party survival guide. I'm Myra by the way." "Myra, it's a lovely name" he chuckles. "Thanks, so can I call you Trev?" He grins and gives a soft shrug "After that save, I suppose so" he smiles "so what's the first step of this survival guide?" " First off, grab a drink.” She took two glasses of champagne and handed one to him “ Secondly cheers, you’ll need it.” Trevyn taps their glasses together and takes a sip “ Cheers.” As the evening continued he found himself delighted by the company of the charming young woman. They spend their time talking about each other’s lives and interests, from his books to her love of theater. His music and lastly how she was invited to this party. Her Mother was the politician running for Mayor Moria Gray, Myra was acting as her mother's plus one. "I'm hoping to convince her to donate to save the reptile house in the Sunny Bay. I work there every summer. I'm hoping that my pitch of “Ma, it will be good for your image, everyone loves snakes” will sell her on it. So far no luck" “The reptile house in the park, no way. We used to perform in the open theater in the park.” He smile “ Back when we were just starting out” “I know” She grins as she hums a familiar tune. “So meet me in the dark, Kiss me in the shadows of every spark~” She winks singing one of their first songs. He doubts those songs ever made it onto albums. He couldn’t help but smile and blush “ You really are a fan?” “You can definitely say that, not as much as the blonde chick who runs your fan blog but You guys are catchy and cute. It's no surprise you got big.” Trevyn walked with her to his table pulling out her chair for her. “Thanks” She smiles “ You know you are surprisingly easy to talk to for a pop star” “I’m normally the antisocial one, you’re kinda making it easy to socialize by being so easy to talk to.” She blushes and laughs “Aw, dork. I like you. Come over to the reptile house if I manage to save it. I’ll give you the free tour” she noticed her mother calling her from across the room “ Oh boy, mom’s on a schmoozing spree, I gotta run. Later Handsome” “Bye Myra” He smiled as the thought entered his head. Arin was hoping to donate to an animal charity and Iain loves nostalgia. Perhaps he would also do it for himself, his heart did seem to speed up a bit when Myra’s eyes light up and smile at him. He blushes a bit writing down his donation and in the bonus space he added a Fundraiser concert hosted by Star☆Rise. He deposited the slip of paper in the donation box and took a seat slyly stealing a glance at Myra. Trying to convince himself that he wasn’t smitten and failing greatly when his blush spread to his ears.

history —

your mother used her chaos magic one day to give birth to twin boys in leonia, new jersey. she used slivers of mephisto’s life essence to give you and your brother souls. you’re born first, making you older by a few minutes. your mother wanda maximoff and father vision couldn’t be happier to have you and your twin in their lives. everyone shared in the excitement, even steve rogers gave your mother blankets with an america flag design on them. she tried telling him that you were too young to use it still, but you eventually grew into it.

you were given the name thomas maximoff.

your twin would be named william maximoff.

you had a happy life, surrounded by nothing except love from everyone in your family. agatha herkness would watch you when your parents had to leave for duties with the avengers.  one of your last memories would be your mother wrapping you and your brother up in her cape while you slept at the avengers headquarters.

mephisto comes back to reclaim the slivers of his soul that was used to give you life. you’re only a few years old, not much older than five when you cease to exist. agatha cast a spell so your mother would forget all about you and your brother thinking it would ease her pain. she would eventually recall the loss, but suppresses those memories.

you and your twin are reincarnated, but would be born into separate families.

you’re the only child frank and mary shepherd would have. you would still be raised in new jersey, but you’re in springfield now. your name is thomas shepherd, but you call yourself tommy.

your parents love you for the first few years of your life, but when you’re still young they get a divorce. everything changes after that and you never felt love from them again. since you were still a toddler when they separated you don’t remember what it's like to feel that warmth from either of them. they don’t pay attention to you and treat you like a burden.

you start acting out in hopes that will get them to listen, but it doesn’t since they don’t even notice when you’re gone. you’ll end up sending your entire childhood in and out of juvenile halls.

when you happen to not be in a detention center you’re sent to high school so they stop bothering your parents about all the classes you’ve missed. one of those days you discover that you’re a mutant! however when your mutant abilities appear this causes you to accidentally vaporize your entire school.

they imprison you under a court order. you think your mother and father are happy to have you taken out of their hands. you’re sent to a high-powered prison which was equipped with advanced offensive and defensive technology. you’re placed in a power dampening cell. when necessary they would even put you in an inhibitor collar. you were locked up for a long time and there was scientists at the prison who ran tests on you and did experiments too. this makes you angry. you want revenge.

you’re freed by the young avengers because they want you to join the team. this is the moment you’re reunited with your twin brother, william. you finally found your way back to each other. you join the team and take on the alias speed.

the present —

your team has been hopping between various alternate universes for the missions you go on together. something goes wrong with the last portal you step through and you’re the only one who comes out on the other side. you’re separated from the universe you were born in. now you’re stuck in this new world with no belongings except your speed suit that you’re wearing. you have to settle into a world that looks similar to yours, but also very different. you weren’t even a thought yet here, but now your existence is part of this universe too. it’s time to make the best out of a situation and so you steal backpack and some civilian clothes. your speed suit is kept in the backpack for when you need it. you’re homeless right now, but you’ve lived in worse conditions.

powers —

SUPERHUMAN SPEED:  can run, move and react at speeds far greater than the average human. his top running speed is unrecorded, but it is demonstrated that he can at least achieve MACH 4.

MOLECULAR ACCELERATION: can also generate hyper-kinetic vibrations that accelerate the molecules in matter, causing any solid object he directs his vibrations at to explode.

INTANGIBILITY: He also can use molecular destabilization to walk through solid objects.

SUPERHUMAN STAMINA: his physiology grants him greater stamina when compared to an ordinary human, allowing him to operate at peak capacity for at least several hours before he begins to grow tired.

SUPERHUMAN REFLEXES: capable of reacting fast, because he's moving at superhuman speeds everything moves slower for him.

SUPERHUMAN AGILITY: his physiology grants him superhuman agility being more flexible and having greater balance.

SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY: also provides him with limited protection against impact forces and the high levels of friction that are produced when he moves at superhuman speed.

SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH: possesses a limited degree of superhuman strength, allowing him to lift about 800 lbs with his arms and 1 ton with his legs.

ACCELERATED PERCEPTION: his brain processes information at an accelerated rate to match his bodily speed, enabling him to perceive his surroundings while traveling at high velocities. to him, this makes it seems as if the world is going in slow motion.

Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

Off the top of my head, the Mephriana and Iristo fandoms from LoliRock ruined their ships for me. I'd be on board with multishipping but they've actually gone out of their way to stalk and harass the Talisto shippers because Talia "gets in the way" of their ship. They've reposted Talisto art and roleplayed as Talia and Mephisto and kept bashing the ship, art, and artist of the said art. A friend of mine, the main person that actually created Talisto and is the backbone of the fandom, was harassed so badly by the Mephriana and Iristo shippers to the point where she actually wanted to stop making art completely several times. And yeah, I'mma be that person and say "WE KNOW WHY" Talia "can't" be shipped with Mephisto. If there aren't legit reasons as to why she's not a good match for him, then that's the sole reason why. They've even made ship weeks out of spite with made up dates that no one followed through on them. I already don't ship Mephisto and Iris because, well, Nathaniel. And I don't ship Mephisto with Auriana because they're literally the same person. Auriana is just the heroine while Mephisto is evil. But the fandoms of those two ships really turned me off as a whole when it comes to multishipping with Mephisto. I'll just stick to my little Talisto corner and stay there.

Not gonna lie, BlackCage from Mortal Kombat comes on the list. Now, I don't mind it at all. But I've seen folks in the fandom go up in arms about some of us shipping Jacqui with Erron and kept coming up with every shit excuse in the book. I've literally heard them excuse BlackCage and bash Jacqui with the excuses of Jacqui being asexual, a MINOR OF ALL THINGS, too sassy, doesn't have any humor, a boring character, or a waste of space. Like??? How is Jacqui a minor but Cassie isn't even though they're literally in their mid-twenties together??? Make it make sense. Plus, Erron actually flirts with Jacqui way more than Cassie (if you don't count his flirting with her in MK11 at first but he still flirts with Jacqui more anyway) so how could you not ship them? And honestly, I thought people would ship Erron and Sonya because he flirts with her WAY MORE than Cassie. Hell, he even said he'd take her away from the shit she's in in the last game (yes, that's an intro). Overall, the ships is a NOTP for me. The bashing isn't as bad as the LoliRock one, but it's still there. And tbh, in a sense, it's like Erron is dating himself considering how snarky he and Cassie are. But that's just me. Again, not hating on the ship but it's just a NOTP of mine due to how some of the loud shippers are when it comes to bashing at the thought of shipping Jacqui and Erron together.

I know I'm gonna get harassed for this but THE FUCKING LOVE-SQUARE OF MIRACULOUS LADYBUG OH MY FUCKING GOD. THEY'RE LITERALLY THE SAME PEOPLE. IN FUCKING MAGICAL COSTUMES. That's like saying that the Sailor Moon pairing of Usagi and Mamoru have a love square. There's four ships of the SAME FUCKING PEOPLE: Sailor Moon x Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Moon x Mamoru, Usagi x Tuxedo Mask, and Usagi x Mamoru. We don't count them as the different people do we? SO HOW ARE THEY ANY DIFFERENT IN MIRACULOUS LADYBUG??? It's just mind-boggling and frustrating. They're the same people. Just keep the ship with one or two names maximum. No need to make shit complicated.

Iris’s element is energy is energy which tends to be used in the form of song/sound. Her themes are music, hearts, positive emotions, and self-assurance. She’s now Cure Amity instead of Cure Heart. Her keys are the Amicable Key, Joy Key, Charm Key, Exuberance Key

Talia’s element is water which she can use in all of its forms. Her themes are water, diamonds, adaptability, and healing. She’s Cure Gem. Her keys are the Gemstone Key, Opal Key, Lazuli Key, and the Diamant Key
