Ok, ok, ok, im brainstorming here rn and Inwanna make team BEST the four horsemen of the apocalypse (war, famine, death, pestilince (plague)) and death is taken by skizz no readjustments, but which would you assign bdubs? I said war, but you could sway me on that if you disagree

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure? War implies something either more tactical, with more strategizing, or something more hostile?

But I think it could work, something about the brutality of war and how some people can rationalize the acts of violence committed. Kind of like Bdubs does in Last Life and Limited Life, where he explained the difference between Tango's LL boogey death and Bdubs' LimLife boogey death being that "he was happy" with Last Life while in Limited Life he wasn't.

Was originally tempted to keep these and post them on the writing blog later but fuck it I love this fic.

There was that dulled purr in Skizz's chest as he held out his hand, a wide yet gentle smile on his face.

"What?" Cleo asks bluntly.

"I want to dance." It then quickly adds, "Actually dance, not like– not like last time when I tried to kill you."

They look at his outstretched hand, then to the clearing around them. The island still didn't have much, one lonely tree growing among other saplings, but she could easily see it becoming more.

"Do you–"

She takes its hand in her own, stitching running over calluses and scars. Decayed blue-green meeting a very, very pale tan.

The angels rests a hand on their side before pulling them closer to him as they take his other hand.

It's somewhat awkward, her partner has more than half a foot on her in height, making her crane her head up just to see its eyes.

There's an easy sort of silence as Skizz lets Cleo lead, following close behind as they step. The only music, since they don't have a jukebox let alone disks, are the noisy songs of cicadas and crickets as the night pours on.

She, for only a split second, sees Skizz grin almost cunningly before she's swiftly dipped. A broad, careful hand rests into her back as he hovers over, still smiling as he chuffs.

Then they're whisked back onto their feet, Skizz tilting its head to the side as it smiles.

"Skizz, if this is your way of flirting, at least tell me."

"What? Can't two friends dance?" He seems almost embarrassed, but there's something in his voice that betrays him.

Cleo rolls their eyes. "Why are you like this?"

"'cause I wanted to make up for last season, even if I did fail."

The zombie sighs, shaking her head. There's words at the tip of her tongue, a want to confess her feelings, but instead she steps back.

"Goodnight, Skizz."

His smile almost threatens to fall, but still it's there and gentle and comforting.

"Goodnight, Cleo."

And like they exist around peoples lives and near each other and its mostly shennagiangs but also the world is falling apaft because theyre irresposible.

they never really gave much though to how they existed. They never really cared. All that mattered was that they where alive and they existed to help.

But their version of help wasn't the version their host would think of.

Anti was the red-filter, black-out, wall-punching rage that came when you'd been so pissed off, you didn't think, you acted. There was no room for rationality, only pure, unfiltered, burning, white-hot rage thay sat deep in you chest and couldn't be contained.

Jackie was the overly positive toxicity that didn't let you show your pain to others. The kind that wanted only to focus on the good times and ignore the bad. Why focus on the negative when the happy times where right there?

Marvin was the willful ignorance. The refusal to admit you where wrong or to better yourself. You know what's going on, you know what happened, you know how it all went down, why on Earth would you need to better yourself? There was no such thing as "learning more" when Marvin was around.

Henrik was the naive trusting. The belief that everyone is good and that they wouldn't let you down. You trusted them not to hurt you and ignored it when they did. Henrik was the trust without bounds that would harm you time and time and time again.

Chase was the self-serving pity. The kind that wallowed and withered and chipped away at your confidence. The kind that refused to leave. It was the selfishness that demanded acknowledgment and refused to allow for anything else. You where hurt, why shouldn't you feel bad?

JJ was the people pleasing, the kind that wanted to help and give until there was nothing left for people to take. "Yes, I can do that for you. I can totally cover your shift. Please like me, I need you to like me," the kind of pleasing that destroyed you and others around you.

The toxicity that invaded everyone tool up physical form in Jack's mind. No one knew why, no one could understand why, but they weren't leaving.

And Jack wasn't really sure he wanted them to...
