Did you enjoy this fic? Consider joining my TAGLIST -- You didn't want to end your relationship with Mitch. The two of you knew you were not meant to be together. Your lives were completely different, he lived the hockey lifestyle and you planned to travel the world. Those two careers are not compatible with each other. 

Thus, you made the decision you least wanted to make. It was sad that you broke up, but it seemed that you two were on the same page. As a result, you committed to keeping in touch whenever possible.

You continued to show up to a few of his hockey games to show your support. You normally buy it by the glass so he can see you. Of course, that wasn't always the case. That's because it set you back a lot of money.

However whenever you did purchase a ticket to sit directly in front of the glass. Habitually, you could count on him to give you a kind nod or wave as he passed by.

It was a Saturday, which meant it was game night for the Maple Leafs. You already had a ticket because this was going to be your last game. Before going on and traveling the world. You made the decision to get a glass ticket so that you could watch him play and then say your goodbyes.

As 6:00 hit. You were able to enter the gates and pass through the security system. You made the decision to get some popcorn before returning to your seat to wait for the warmup to begin.

Eventually, after a long wait. One by one, they stepped onto the ice. Marner was the last one to step on the ice. The thought that he had previously been yours caused your heart to race. 

As a lot of time went by, you noticed that he didn't even look at you or smile like he used to. He didn't even stop and lean his back against the glass like he usually did – when you had a glass ticket.

When the warmup was over, you were left in a state of confusion. Was he trying to avoid you? If so, why? You obviously didn't do anything. You went to most of his games, and he didn't seem to mind at all. He always tried looking for you, even when there were a lot of people in the stands. It wasn't as if he couldn't see you because he definitely did - he skated right by you a few times.

The game ended 5-2 with Mitch getting 3 points and the #1 star. Once again during that whole game, he didn’t even look at you. As you packed up the stuff that you took to that game and threw your uneaten food in the garbage. You decided to leave and hang outside the arena to shoot him a message. 

As soon as you sent that text, the delivery indicator did not appear. You let out a long, drawn-out sigh. It was as straightforward as that; he blocked you. You called him in an effort to perhaps debunk it, but the call went directly to voice mail.

He blocked you and that’s why he didn’t look at you at all at the game. You knew it was for the best. Your paths were never supposed to cross anyways. He was a hockey player and you were going on to explore the world. It was never meant to be, but it still sent a sting to your heart.
