It's in moments like this when Y/N see’s the real Tommy, her Tommy. A day spent inside, no work, no phones just each other. 

Tommy in his most relaxed state, she wasn’t sure if anyone had ever seen him dressed in a sweatshirt and a pair of grey joggers, but she was so glad she was privileged enough to experience it. 

He was almost softer on days like these, as if the weekend spent away from his busy life had worn down the edges of him. 

She looks up as he enters the lounge, a bottle of champagne and the takeaway pizzas in hand, a smile on his face as she got up to help him “Pizza and Champagne like our first date” she hums, pressing a kiss to his cheek. 

“I know how to treat a lady” he jokes, placing the boxes on the coffee table, she passes him the champagne “Tom, we’d had a late night in the office even though we were meant to be going for a nice dinner” she giggles, as he skillfully popped the bottle open. 

“Like I said I know how to treat the ladies” he winked, handing her a glass, she took a sip letting the bubbles pop on her tongue “Well you got me so it must have worked” she smiled, curling her legs underneath herself on the sofa, settling back as Tommy dished up slices of pizza.

Dating Tommy Shelby certainly makes life interesting, you can never prepare yourself for the next surprise. Sometimes you forget you’ve only met him a few months ago but standing in his home, ready to move in, youare about to be reminded how little you know him.

“What was that?” You ask, referring to the noise from upstairs.

“Alfie.” A tired sigh follows his irritated answer, rolling his eyes at the ceiling.

Your mind runs around with countless questions but you can only manage to ask one. “You have a roommate?” 

“Nah, don’t mind him. He’s just my husband.”

“Your what?!”

In which modern!Tommy is drunk and lonely in his office during a storm and he can't deal with it alone.

She swore she'd block his number and move on. She swore she'd never give in to his sad blue eyes and husky voice again.

Thomas swore he'd never step on his pride again. He swore he'd never need anyone again.

Both of them were sick of Thomas' drunk calls, sick of the heartwarming proximity they had only for the night and then having to pretend they didn't have anything the next day.

Things between them were much simpler in his office after all the employees left, the nights they spent tangled in each other wouldn't be forgotten, but they couldn't spend forever hidden in an office, they'd either have to grow up and assume a relationship or they'd have to split.

And they decided to split.

Thomas' world was too complex for her, too risky, he could have given her everything except for security and peace. There was no space for her in his empire.

At the same time, her simple routine was an aching bore to him, study, work, party, rarely she had time to engage in other activities. At this pace, she'd never conquer anything, she would born and die the same, Thomas couldn't stand it.

Although, tonight's pouring rain seemed to come only to change both of their minds.

Thomas stared at her phone number on the screen with a cigarette between his lips, it once had a red heart beside it, added by her as a joke, now it's only her first and last name, a cold, formal way of treatment, blurring the story they unintentionally wrote together.

His mind slips to the bag of white powder in his drawer, if he put it in his system and drive to a nightclub, he could get a girl and forget the woman who's only a call away. All the progress of eight months he made without it would be ruined in a moment of weakness, but his pride would be intact.

Blowing some smoke away, Thomas forced his finger to the calling icon. In a few seconds, she picked up, they heard each other's breath and hesitated in being the first to break the silence.

"... Thomas?" she was the first to give in.

"Hello." he drawled, not actually ready to make a conversation.

"What do you want?" her choice of words was rude, but her voice was soft.

"Where are you?"

"At midnight during a storm? I'm at home." Thomas didn't answer, so she continued, "And I think you should be too."

"Yeah, I- I'll go when the rain is gone."

"I don't think it'll be soon, didn't you watch the weather forecast?"

"No."

"... Are you alright, Thomas?" she worried.

"Yeah."

"You didn't relapse, did you?"

"No, I didn't relapse."

"Good, I'm glad you're alright."

As the mood between them got awkward, Thomas got ready to spit the question.

"Can I see you?"

"I won't drive under this storm." she immediately answered.

"Right," he sighed, "so good ni-"

"Doesn't mean you can't come over though."

Modern Tommy Shelby x reader

This is pure fluff 🥰

Taking off the jacket of his suit, Tommy discarded it over the bed, his eyes roaming across the bedroom finding you looking outside, leaning on the window frame. His eyes stopped for a moment in the dandelion he bought for one of your anniversaries.

It was beautifully captured in a resin crystal ball, the smile you gave him when you opened his present was priceless.

In silence, he wrapped his arms around your midsection, earning a little jump of surprise to feel him suddenly.

“Is everything alright?” He asked. His breath fanning over the skin of your neck.

“Yes… it’s just a bit overwhelming with the wedding, the guest list and I don’t have a dress yet.”

His lips stopped kissing your neck, a smile replacing.

“But why are you so worried, darling?” You found his eyes looking at you in the window reflection. “I’d still marry you if you show up wearing a potato sack.”

That made you chuckle before turning around in his arms. “I know you would.”

“Then it’s all set.” Tommy winked squeezing his hands on your hips slightly while you shook your head. “No? Fair enough… as I can’t and won’t be doing the wedding planner’s job, my only suggestion is forget about the wedding for one day, Charlie’s coming tomorrow to spend the weekend with us, so why don’t we have some fun?”

“Oh! You know how to?” You joked earning an eye roll from your fiancé.

“What kind of fun?”

“Family fun, I don’t know you’re the creative one from us.” He added playfully bumping his nose with yours before pulling you to the en-suite bathroom.

“Hi Y/N!” Charlie shouted you from the door, a big smile decorating his face as he saw you waiting in the queue.

You waved at him and immediately felt his positive energy bring you back to life, all other worries melted away.

But his teacher made you go through a hard time when she mentioned they didn’t get a call to notify that Tommy wouldn’t pick up Charlie from school. As if they were friends.

“Is alright, Y/N and my Dad had a sleepover and-” But you covered his mouth before Charlie could continue with his explanation, while a soft blush covered your cheeks.

“I understand, let me call my fiancé.” You stated taking out your phone, flashing your engagement ring at the teacher. Your Tommy asked last minute if you could pick up his son from school.

A few minutes later, you were giving Charlie a little speech of how important safety was, and how only Grace, Tommy and sometimes you were the only ones allowed to pick him up. Kids could get tricked so easily, get taken away in a blink, besides taking care of Tommy’s son was a huge responsibility.

But Charlie, being a kid, he quickly changed the topic.

“Y/N...”

“Yes sweetheart?”

“Can we make a water balloons war for my birthday?”

“But it will be in winter, it’s going to be cold...”

“Oh.” Charlie looked down, his happy bubble was deflated.

“Unless...”

Anthony, Tommy’s new driver looked at you through the review mirror, he suddenly felt concerned. “Mr. Shelby instructed to drive you straight home.”

“We’ll be quick, I promise.”

“If I get in trouble...”

“Don’t worry Anthony, I will tell Dad it was Y/N’s idea.”

“Hey!” You protested, but then went on to tell Anthony to stop at the shopping mall. You only needed a few things.

After all Tommy asked you to think of something fun, didn’t he?

“Mr. Shelby, you got back earlier.” Frances frowned, but took his suit jacket from his hands.

Frowning back, Tommy stopped to look at her. “Y/N texted me, said something important came up.”

“Oh...”

Squinting his eyes at her, Tommy tilted his head confused. Why was Frances acting like that?

In a reflection, he moved his hand to the holster, to take his gun.

“You might want me to keep that one away and use this instead.” Frances explained, offering him a piece of paper and a plastic gun.

But before he could react, Tommy got a shot of water straight in the back of his head.

Time seemed to stop right there. Frances was holding her breath.

Slowly, Tommy turned around to find you pointing your water gun at him.

Even Charlie stopped laughing.

His eyes were covered by his Raybans, but you had an idea of the dead look he was giving you.

“Pum pum!” You imitated the sound of a gun. But as a mischievous smile appeared on his face, you added: “Shit... run Charlie!”

Frances was worried about the decorations, terrified of a flower vase falling to the floor, but felt more relieved when you and Charlie took the water war outside.

Tommy was used to guns, all kinds. Apart from horses, he had a massive collection of weapons, yet he had never used a water gun.

“Charlie get down!” You advised, shooting Tommy again, failing this time.

Tommy laughed, a deep and contagious sound that took him by surprise.

Charlie rolled over the grass in a very dramatic motion, as if with that Tommy wouldn’t point his weapon and shoot Charlie straight in the forehead.

“Hey that's not fair, he’s only a child!” You scolded him coming from behind a tree.

But it was a mistake, because Tommy took the chance to shoot you straight at breasts-level. Now you had two wet circles that made your bra visible.

Making a face and giving him a dead stare, you asked him; “Are you kidding me?”

“You are the one who came up with the idea, love.” Tommy winked at you and for the first time in a very long time, you noticed he was having fun.

“Yes you need to relax.” Splash. “Urgently.” Splash.

In response you shot him straight in the face.

Taking his handkerchief from his pocket, Tommy stared into your eyes intensely.

“You know you’re going to pay for this later right?”

Biting your lower lip, you nodded. Excitement running to the spot between your legs.

Heart beating fast, happiness pouring, deep laughs was all could be seen right there in that moment. Even Cyril joined the outside fun at some point, but soon he preferred a quiet time and went to rest under a tree.

“All against Charlie!” You shouted directing the water gun to Charlie’s back.

The kid squealed in delight and ran off to hide behind his father’s car.

Tommy stared at the scene before him, how did he become so damn lucky?

Charlie would spend the entire weekend with the two of you, so you would be able to enjoy some time together, and with you hanging around, Charlie surely would be having a good time granted.

After calling for a truce because he was really tired, so the three of you went to sit on the picnic blanket Frances set up thinking Mr. Shelby would want some rest, she really thought of everything; setting a jar of cold lemonade, sandwiches and some cookies. She knew listening to Mr. Shelby laugh was one of those very rare moments that doesn’t happen everyday, so she thought of prolonging it as much as possible.

As spring started to blossom, the flowers around Arrow House got impossibly gorgeous, the clean fresh air from the country house combined to the incredible weather relaxed her.

You needed this, after so many days planning, worrying, you couldn’t take it anymore.

“I don’t know how you will be able to make me move from here.” Tommy joked too content resting his head on your lap.

“We can camp out!” Charlie proposed.

“I can get a snake bite here.” You made a terrified face to Charlie.

The kid chuckled, dimples showing just like his father’s. “There are no snakes around Y/N and if they are, Dad can defend you.”

You chuckled. Starting to run your fingers through Tommy’s hair, the longer parts at the top anyways.

Opening one of his eyes, Tommy found a dandelion right next to his body. Taking it into his hand carefully he placed it in front of your face.

“Make a wish.” Tommy requested.

“Do you remember?” Your face was full of surprise.

“Of course I do, that’s how I got you to accept be my woman. I wished for it.”

Closing your eyes momentarily, you remembered the afternoon when Tommy asked you to be his girlfriend, he showed a dandelion and said he made a wish, he wanted to get to spend the rest of his days with you.

“Should we make a wish?” Tommy proposed.

Wrapping a hand around the one in which he was holding the dandelion, you and Tommy blew watching the small piece flying away.

“Charlie I want to ask you something really important.”

That caught the Shelby’s attention. Both father and son looked at you intensely.

“You know how I don’t have anyone to walk me down the aisle… would you like to give me away to your father?” You tried to fight the lump that had created in your throat.

Tommy held his breath, he didn’t expect it, but deep down he knew how much it would mean to you.

As seconds passed by, Charlie’s smile grew bigger until he threw himself into your arms squealing a loud yes!

“This is the bestest day ever!” Charlie beamed, wrapping his arms around each other, bringing their heads together. “Do I get to wear a tux just like Dad?”

But he couldn’t wait for a answer and immediately took off running telling Cyril what you just asked him.

You looked at Tommy touched by his son’s words.

Knowing that Charlie was a happy kid was all your fiancé wanted.

“Can I ask what your wish was?” You asked resting your head on his shoulder.

“This.”

This is just some self indulgent fluff! taking the dogs inspiration from my own little shouty idoit.

Let me introduce Bug - who is a very tiny Chihuahua but thinks he's actually very much a fierce rottweiler. Bug is a rescue who had the worst start to his life, but now he's treated like the prince he is, loves his flat duck who we named Gus, likes a pile of blankets, will do anything for chicken but is so stubborn it drives me mad!

Bug LOVES the sound of his own voice, will bark at anyone/anything that he thinks needs to be told to gtfo - his usual enemies are the boots left in the hall, the tv control on his blanket and the click of the hall cupboard.

Anyway enough of Bug - I would ramble on about him all day if I could - I will post pictures of Bug at the bottom of this drabble!

Partners In Crime.

She's in the kitchen getting a drink when she hears the door close, seconds later right on queue the bark from the office fills the hall.

Followed by the voice that still sends butterflies erupting through her body "Maurice! It's me, what you barking for eh?"

She holds back a laugh, when she met her now husband she had never imagined he'd come with with a dog in tow, she was even more surprised by the fact the dog was a tiny but fierce Chihuahua.

Tommy Shelby feared Birmingham Gangster and his Chihuahua Maurice the feared Birmingham Chihuahua.

Both of them had a temper, both of them were shouty idiots but she loved them, really truth be told both of them were tiny but violent when the mood took them.

She loved dogs, her friend and old roommate, Mar had the most adorable Yorkshire Terrier, who was always available for cuddles.

Maurice had took to her right away, he was always in tune with Tommy, how he was feeling, Tommy was caring and loving towards her from day one, his partner in crime followed suit.

Tommy appeared in the kitchen, short sleeves rolled up, tie discarded and Maurice under his arm.

Bounding behind them was Maurice's new sister, their newest addition, Prue the Pomeranian, it was only fair you got your own partner in crime when the boys were away.

Type: pure domestic fluff

Summary: Tommy just cannot resist his teenage daughter's wishes.

Over his morning cup of tea, Tommy was observing his daughter intently. Her dark hair was pushed behind her ears, preventing it from falling into her face and blocking her view onto her phone. Tommy had been against letting thirteen-year-old Ruby get one for Christmas, but Lizzie had insisted.

“Everyone in her class has one. You can’t continue trying to keep her away from modern technology, just because you don’t like using it,” she had lectured him.

So, Tommy sighed and gave in. But he had one condition: “You’re paying for it. I refuse to be a part of this.”

Lizzie had shrugged uninterested. “Don’t need your money anyway.”

She indeed did not need his money.

“Dad! Come look at this Tiktok!”

Ruby’s call pulled him out of his thoughts.

“Sorry, what?”

“A TikTok video,” she repeated.

Tommy frowned, confused. “First of all, why don’t you come over here, if you want me to look at something.”

Ruby obeyed, sliding gracefully off the sofa, and shuffling over to her father.

“Rubes, lift your feet, please.”

Again, she obeyed.

“I want to do this with you! All my friends are doing it with one of their parents!”

She held up her device. On the screen, two people were performing a silly dance to an even sillier song.

Tommy sighed. “Sweetheart, I feel very honoured that you asked me first, but I’m sure your mother would love to be a part of this.”

A laugh escaped Ruby’s mouth. “She was the one I asked first, but she said she didn’t have time because of an appointment.”

Tommy gave his wristwatch a thorough glace, even though there was nothing to see there. “Unfortunately, daddy has a very important appointment to attend as well.”

Ruby shook her head violently. “Not true! Mummy told me your meeting was postponed yesterday evening!”

Lizzie. Unbelievable. What a tattletale.

She knew exactly that he would despise this.

“Fine. What do need to do?” Tommy asked, before letting out another sigh. He tried so hard to keep it in, but he failed miserably.

“Watch and follow, okay dad?”

So, Ruby started her choreography. The dumbest choreography Tommy had ever seen in his life. Though she looked so excited. Her adorable dimples showing up on her rosy cheeks.

He hated this dance. But he loved his daughter so very much.

“Come on, get up! You’re not going to learn it by sitting down!”

Bossy little thing.

Tommy heaved himself out of his chair and attempted to copy Ruby’s movements.

“You look incredibly tense, dad. Loosen up a bit, maybe shake your arms a little?”

“Excuse me?”

“Like this”, Ruby said and began shaking her relaxed arms.

Tommy did the same.

He didn’t feel any different at all. This exercise did nothing.

“I don’t think I’m getting anything better from you as of now,” Ruby remarked.

“So, I’m done here?” Tommy questioned, excited to get back to his tea and newspaper.

Ruby denied. “Not yet.”

Then, she grabbed her phone and placed it on the windowsill. “I need to record it first.”

“Why?”

“Shush, daddy! It’s recording in three, two, one …”

Tommy did his part of the dance. With the most dissatisfied face anyone could ever have. But he did it. To the delight of Ruby.

She skipped back to end the recording, thanking her father repeatedly. She kept on replaying the video, a wide smile placed on her face. “They will love it!”

Tommy was confused. “Who? Ruby, who will love it? Who is seeing this video?”

“People on TikTok, you know?”

“No, I don’t know! What is a TikTok?”

“Oh, daddy! Calm down, you look great!”

“What are you talking about? Give me that phone!”

Ruby giggled. “No way!”

Before Tommy could get a hold of her, she had run off to her bedroom.

Once again, he sighed, running his hand over his face.

“Did you have fun?”

Lizzie had poked her head around the corner.

“Do I look like it?” Tommy mumbled angrily.

She cackled in response.

“Wait–” Tommy’s head shot up, looking directly at his wife. “Don’t you have an appointment?”

“No,” she laughed.

“Then why did you tell Ruby–”
