— mai lived the first seven years of her life in london before her family moved back to japan. when she was in japan, she saw tvxq's performance on tv. it was a defining moment in her life as she wanted to become an idol after watching that performance.

— as she had lived in london in her early years, she acquired a british accent. you can still hear hints of that british accent whenever she speaks english but it isn't as thick as it used to be.
