x(.)com/jwoosworld/status/1866499015862526273?t=8ciz9eG8A7xH0Eu4-UykFw&s=19 How can he does all of this? Along with TMWL rehearsal, the momentum practice, SMtown practice, studying Korean history, preparing for 2nd album, and a bunch of filming for variety show contents. His time management skill is insane
Link
I would like to know as well. I fear, he has a Time-turner in his possession.
Great news, though. And I'm not even surprised, heh. Who if not Doyoung?.. I knew Doyoung would eventually secretly finish school (he can't go to a Uni without a high school diploma), but never imagined a special major like musical theatre.
So, Do and Woo both attended and participated in the graduation performance, their classmates are posting pictures now.

First of all, what this OP said.
One of the reasons people dream of being famous or becoming this or that and never achieving it is that they don't really want that. Their brain is happy just sitting on a sofa with beer in hand and a tv in front. A burrow to hide, a blanket to keep warm, food in the stomack, entertainment - what else to want? All basic needs are covered. Even sex is substituted with wifus/husbandos for most.
Those people who desperately want something have the will to do it by all means. Even if it means practicing choreos till 5 a.m. and going to school afterwards (Jae's case) or learning 2 new languages (Ten's case). Read about explorers of the past deciding to go and freeze to death in pursue of the dream to be the first in human history to reach the North or the South pole.
Doyoung is also an exeption to the rule. He is a workaholic and needs to do as much as possible, he is hungry for more achievements. He has both mental energy for that and will to push himself. Maybe sometimes to unhealthy lengths, but so far he seems to balance it well and shows improvement on the mental front actually. He also has great memory, which allows him to quickly learn (in shorter time and on the go, with less concentration) and memorise lots of faces (social connections). Do evidently also is very good at shifting his focus, doing lots of tasks in parallel (the way we saw him thinking over his solo album direction during commute). Others would be overwhelmed, it requires a trained brain.
Doyoung is assisted with the time management a lot by the agency. He doesn't need to cook, to plan the route, to order tickets and work on visas, to submit documents, to wait at the bus stops, even to choose clothes. He goes from place to place in the most convenient manner, in a personal van or first class flights. All of this both saves him time (he can learn Japanese words or a musical script in the van, for example, he is not the one driving) and mental energy (he is not making mini-choices, everyday decisions (the act of choosing eats up mental energy a lot), as well as he is not fighting "I don't want to" as much).
Doyoung also gets rewarded on a regular basis. He is given his energy back, he gets confirmation that he is moving in the right direction, that the effort is worth it, the goal is within his reach.
Lastly. Doyoung smartly unites a lot of things. For example, this musical theatre programme thing. Surely, him doing Marie gave him points on multiple subjects without attending any lectures or practices in the school. Maybe the public history exam he took way back also was counted. He will get a diploma that will both work for him as a mucial actor and for any future Uni he will go into.
He wanted to strengthen his friendship with Johnathan. He is doing it while shooting programmes (MukChu and I live alone). He went to Japan for a tv-programme, visited Disney land to unwind a bit, and did a vlog at the same time.
Still, as I said already, he is an exeption. Very few people are capable of pushing themselves this much and being able to shift from one task to a very different one (school->BA duties->musical->concert practice->history channel->meeting withJeno->2nd album) so productively.
That's why we stan!

Sega Mega CD - Earthworm Jim Special Edition (European Version)
Title: Earthworm Jim Special Edition / アースワーム・ジム
Developer: Shiny Entertainment
Publisher: Interplay Productions
Release Month: June 1995
Catalogue No.: T-125045-50
Genre: Platform Action
All too often, especially in the west, a Mega CD game would be the same as the Mega Drive cartridge edition, with a few editions. Part of this was because of the severe hardware (even for its day) limitations of the Sega CD, and (I suspect) plain, old-fashioned laziness. Now that is not to say that Japanese developers are immune to this. Even Wolf Team was getting to grips with the first few Mega CD games like Sol Feace and Earnest Evans though they got better at harnessing that potential. Anyway. Earthworm Jim Special Edition is one of the (few) Mega CD games that is NOT just a carbon copy of its cartridge-based cousins. New to the Mega CD edition is a CD audio soundtrack, bigger levels, more secrets, more weapons, reworked animations and additional enemies. Oh, and an exclusive level called Big Bruty.
The game offers some of the best platforming-style animation, music and graphics you will find on the Mega CD. Clearly, the programmers at Shiny Entertainment (the same guys behind Enter the Matrix) wanted to push the capabilities of the Mega CD hardware and offer consumers an Earthworm Jim game that could stand on its own two feet when compared to the Mega Drive version and especially the Takara-published Super Famicom version (only the Super Famicom version made it to Japan).
There are really no glaring flaws with Earthworm Jim: Special Edition. Granted, the game could not, totally, escape from the hardware limitations of the Mega CD hardware itself. The MCD had the same graphics capabilities as the Mega Drive console itself. It also had less internal memory than the Mega Drive, which did not help with the loading time. The large CD-ROM storage capacity, hardware scaling effects and music abilities were certainly nice, but they were not enough to constitute an actual upgrade and could not compete (in terms of graphics) with standard Super Famicom and even low-end PC capabilities, though four or five games managed to prove that point wrong instantly.
Do not get me wrong; Earthworm Jim: Special Edition is a great MCD title. It is probably one of the best Mega CD games released and, I would argue, one of the best games in the Earthworm Jim series. I personally liked it better than Earthworm Jim 2 on the Saturn, but it's a case of "love it or hate it" really.

FLASH REPORT: 'Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt (Season 2)' drops new teaser trailer, expected to air in 2025 [#K5NewsFMExclusive]
(Written by Anne Savisa Boonchuy / Chief Regional Correspondent of Disney XD News and Herpetologist of the AotP)
TOKYO, JAPAN -- After nearly 15 years, fans of the show pleasantly surprise as unexpected when a new teaser trailer video recently released on YouTube last Tuesday on December 24th (a corporate video-sharing company of Google's Alphabet) as Christmas Eve comes to an end last night in Japan for only this year in 2024. But earlier this afternoon, a thrilling announcement was a perfect festive surprise for not just the viewers locally, leading up to its global attention, including the Philippines for example, where it was made just hours before the holiday ended by tomorrow on Christmas Day on Wednesday early morning on December 25th.
Because of the worst cliffhanger end, where it previously recalled from last season when 'Stocking Anarchy' officially declared in hell after killing her sibling sister 'Panty', the eagerly anticipated of the show is slated to premiere for Season 2 in 2025. This return is very exciting for fans, excludes negativity of criticism by force as the show has been quiet since it was canceled in the late-December 2010, like a dead air on radio transistor sets.
A press release shared by the 'Anime News Network' (ANN) highlighted that the teaser trailer video, per exclusively obtained by DWFH-FM 97.7mhz's K5 News FM in Dumaguete City, showcased the renowned anime duo "Panty" and "Stocking", also referred to as the Anarchy sisters -- embarking on their quest in Daten City to battle sinister forces in a domain, straddling the lines of heaven and hell. Admirers of the series known for its mature-based content are in for a treat as the same witty and defiant chemistry that made the first series a hit remains intact between these sibling duos.
The new season of PSG was produced by the new animation studio 'TRIGGER', the same group that created this said original series at the now-defunct 'Gainax'. While we are taking some daring chances in the industry of anime, they hope to preserve the essential elements of the originality with series creator 'Geek Fleet' is at the helm. The teaser presents viewers, including us, with an enriched integration of humor and action, furthered by outstanding animation and breathtaking visuals.
Regarding the voice casts, the Season 2 teaser hints at a blend of both old and new voices. Along with the return of the Anarchy sisters' familiar voices, the cast will also include new members who will bring some exciting energy to the programme. Moreover, new music soundtracks from artists like Taku Inoue, TeddyLoid and m-flo are taken part of them, which should significantly improve the new season's overall experience in history.
New episodes of 'Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt' (Season 2) will be aired LIVE over 'OneNETtv Channel', the only Negrosanon entertainment and news leader station in the area, so people who get to stay up late eagerly await it. Details with the Japanese commercial TV broadcaster are still being negotiated, along with the official air date.
For those who are unfamiliar with the series before, or to relive some of the most significant moments in Daten City, 'Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt' can be streamed online at 'ABEMA TV' in Japan, and also streaming on 'Apple TV+' & 'Amazon Prime Video' in the United States of America (U.S.A.). In addition to expletive language, there are various expectations in erotic components scattered through the season that may not be suitable for viewers with overly sensitive or easily offended nerves.
The teaser trailer sets the tone for a tumultuous and unapologetic ride for the series, which us audiences are expecting for the new season that is set to drop in 2025. Fans can expect a thrilling ride back to this said city of Daten, as the adventures of the Anarchy sisters continue with community involvement and an assurance of chaos, high-explosive action, romantic influence and general entertainment.

Mega Man, known as Rockman in Japan, is a 1987 action-platform video game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was directed by Akira Kitamura, with Nobuyuki Matsushima as lead programmer, and is the first game of the Mega Man franchise and the original video game series. Mega Man was produced by a small team specifically for the home console market, a first for Capcom, who previously focused on arcade titles.
The game begins the struggle of the humanoid robot and player-character Mega Man against the mad scientist Dr. Wily and the six "Robot Masters" under his control. Mega Man's nonlinear gameplay lets the player choose the order in which to complete its initial six stages. Each culminates in a boss battle against one of the Robot Masters that awards the player-character a unique weapon. Part of the strategy of the game is that the player must carefully choose the order in which to tackle the stages so that they can earn the weapons that will be most useful for future stages.
Critics praised Mega Man for its overall design. Mega Man established many of the gameplay, story, and graphical conventions that would define the ensuing sequels, subseries, and spin-offs in the Mega Man franchise. The game has since been featured in game compilations, including Mega Man Legacy Collection for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch, rereleased on mobile phones, and become a part of console emulation services. It received a full 3D remake titled Mega Man Powered Up in 2006.
In the year 20XX, robots developed to assist mankind are commonplace thanks to the efforts of renowned robot designer Dr. Light. However, one day, these robots go out of control and start attacking humans, among them six advanced humanoid robots created by Dr. Light for industrial purposes. Known as the "Robot Masters", they consist of Cut Man, Guts Man, Ice Man, Bomb Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man. Dr. Light realizes that the culprit responsible for these attacks is his old rival Dr. Wily, but is unsure of what to do. His helper robot, Rock, having a strong sense of justice, offers to be converted into a fighting robot to stop Dr. Wily's plans, dubbing himself Mega Man. In time, he defeats the six Robot Masters and recovers their central cores, then confronts Dr. Wily within his Pacific-based robot factory, where he is manufacturing copies of Light's robots. After defeating replicas of the Robot Masters, as well as several robots designed specifically by Wily to defeat him, Mega Man confronts Wily in a final showdown and defeats him before returning home to his family.
The initial Western release of the game, while keeping the same basic plot, significantly changed some details from the original Japanese manual. In this version, Dr. Light and Dr. Wily (who is portrayed as Dr. Light's former assistant) co-create the humanoid robot Mega Man alongside the six Robot Masters, each of whom were designed for the benefit of Monsteropolis's citizens (no such place existed in the original plot). Dr. Wily, angered by Light taking credit for their work and desiring to use his creations for criminal purposes, steals the Robot Masters and reprograms them, then creates his own army of robots to seize control of Monsteropolis and declare it his own personal empire. Dr. Light, horrified by Wily's betrayal, sends Mega Man to destroy the Robot Masters and free Monsteropolis from Wily's machines.
Mega Man consists of six side-scrolling platformer levels freely chosen by the player. In each level, the player-character, Mega Man, fights through various enemies and obstacles before facing a "Robot Master" boss at the level's end. Upon defeating the boss, the player assimilates the Robot Master's signature attack, or "Special Weapon", into Mega Man's arsenal for the rest of the game. Unlike the standard Mega Buster (Rock Buster in Japan), the Robot Master powers have limited ammunition replenished by collecting ammunition cells dropped by defeated enemies at random.

It's Always Been You...
(Fujima x Hanagata fanfic. "Slam Dunk" is by Inoue Takehiko)
(slight "mention" of the Neo Egoist League. "Blue Lock" is by Kaneshiro Muneyuki, and illustrated by Nomura Yusuke)
It has been years since Fujima last saw his dear Hanagata. As the responsibilities of adulthood weighed down on them, their roads are drawn apart. Will they still find their way back to each other?
Rated M for implied sex.
****
Fujima sighed as he sat on his couch. He was finally home in his apartment after eating out for dinner.
Today was a really rough day, as there were lots of bugs he had to search in his codes. The website that his team was working on had problems running, so he had to go through each code to see where the problem was.
As a programmer, Fujima had to upgrade his knowledge every now and then. He was already 45 years old, and technology keeps evolving even as his cells divide each day. So his younger counterparts were now more well-equipped with the know-how of the latest in the field, and Fujima had to keep abreast as well. But his wisdom was also sought for by his younger peers. The manager in their department wanted to promote him to take his place, but Fujima was already tired of leading the team. After five years of being a team leader, he let a younger subordinate take over so he could take a break.
He had his share of leading a team both as a captain and a coach back in Shoyo High, but it was not easy. He wondered how he could have managed all that, but just thought it was because he was younger. Besides, his vice captain took over his role as captain in court.
Within the comforts of his apartment and with a can of beer, he watched a livestream of a soccer game of Japanese high school boys playing with their foreign counterparts on his phone. In the final match, it was a game between two of Europe's big leagues, and Fujima found himself smirking while looking at the Japanese striker from the French team. Yep, the boy acted like Rukawa. How could Fujima forget how Rukawa played on the basketball court? He was a beast who played selfishly.
It was rumored that the striker was Rukawa's nephew from his mother's side. They both have dark hair, a sullen mood, prominent lower lashes, and that drive of never wanting to pass. Fujima greatly remembered that Rukawa pretended not to be a show-off when he played, but he was lowkey being arrogant when he had the ball. And back in the game on his screen, a teammate passed the ball to the Japanese striker, but he did not score.
Also, Fujima, who was not really into football, did not know the striker's name.
"Dammit, you ahou!" Fujima cursed at the player on his phone screen. "Your teammate just lost a chance to get an assist!"
He was engrossed in watching the football game when his doorbell rang. He looked up, wondering who would visit him at this time of the day since he was not expecting anyone. He was also not expecting any delivery because he did not have any transactions going on.
He put his phone on the couch and got up immediately without problems at all. Despite his age, he was still fit. After quitting basketball in university, he still made it a point to keep himself fit. He knew he was handsome and vain, and he knew people turn around for his looks, so he took really good care of himself. That's why until now, he was still slim, and younger women in the company asked him if he was still single. Knowing he was, he kept on getting invitations for dates. Yet, he kept turning them down.
Deep in his heart, he was still pining for someone who he had not talked to for years.
He was still pining for, and very still much in love with Hanagata Toru. Hanagata was the sole reason why he chose to remain single.
He opened the door of his apartment to entertain whoever might have rang the doorbell. To his surprise, his visitor for tonight was the person he had wanted to see the most.
"Long time no see, Kenji."
The voice. The voice never faded. Hanagata had aged harder than he did, but he still looked handsome. Fujima knew that Hanagata took a medical course and proceeded to be a surgeon, and he knew that being a surgeon was hard. And it showed on Hanagata's face.
"Toru!" Kenji said in a half-whisper.
He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around the man that he loved. He found himself melting when Hanagata hugged him back. The time it took them hugging felt long, but it was worth the wait.
Hanagata gently pushed Fujima so he could look into his face. And from Hanagata's eyes, Fujima saw longing.
"I miss you, Kenji," Hanagata said. "Sorry, it took me a very long time to visit you."
Fujima replied. "Took you long enough. Took you more than a decade to hang out with me."
"Well, life had other plans for us," Hanagata sighed. "I know, SNS is not enough..."
But this was what Fujima had been waiting for his whole life. He pulled Hanagata closer and smashed his lips against his. He let the surgeon feel his want of him by passionately kissing him, not giving Hanagata the air that he needed.
Finally, Fujima released Hanagata from his kisses and ushered him inside and had him seated next to him. Hanagata said that since he was so busy (with many trainings and surgeries going back to back), he was not able to get a vacation for many years.
"Have you eaten?" Fujima asked his beloved lovingly.
"Yeah. I took a bite before coming here. I thought that I should visit you more often," Hanagata said.
The tone of his voice made Fujima cock his head to the side. "Is something wrong, Toru?"
"No... it's just... I met Itou the other day," Hanagata shared. "And he... told me about you."
Fujima bit his lips. Though he and Itou worked for the same company, they were in different departments and handled different projects. They also did not have the same schedule, so they also saw each other less often.
But Itou had been here in Fujima's apartment exactly six months ago, when Itou was sick and got locked out of his apartment, so Fujima rushed to him and took him home. That was the least he could do for a kohai in high school.
"We seldom talk in the office," Fujima admitted. "Is he well?"
Hanagata smiled. "Sorry, I uphold patient's confidentiality. If you want to know, just ask him."
Fujima nodded.
Their conversation soon went into dating. Fujima asked Hanagata if he dated someone after him, and Hanagata nodded. He said that right after breaking up with Kenji on good terms (during their third year in university), Hanagata made it a point to strictly pursue his studies. He did so, and resumed dating during his first year of residency. It was the first time he had fallen in love with a woman, but he realized after dating her for seven months that he was gay and was not into women. The times he spent with Fujima (including their first tryst two weeks before the winter games during their third year in high school) were strongly imprinted in his mind and heart that he thought he could never loved someone as deeply and tenderly as he had loved Kenji. After breaking up with his girlfriend, he had spent countless times asking friends and acquaintances about Fujima, but some gave vague answers. When he finally found Fujima on SNS, it took him some time to gain the courage to add him, knowing that the reason why they broke up in the first place was achieving their individual goals rather than fighting over jealousy or whatnot.
The decision was mutual, but Hanagata never thought it would hurt this bad. What was so bad about staying together while achieving their dreams? What could have happened if their relationship continued since their high school days?
Fujima, it turned out, felt the same way too. As they were younger and chasing their dreams, they thought breaking up was the best thing to do, but all the while, they were keeping their real feelings away. He told Hanagata that regret was eating him up every single day for not being honest with himself. Yet, he hushed the voice inside of him by going on dates until he was involved in a polyamorous relationship with a man and a woman for four years. The three of them went so far as to have a threesome, and he was enjoying it for a while. And yet, he broke up with his lovers, knowing deep inside that this was not what he wanted. So, he stayed single for many years, rejecting many potential lovers, both men and women.
Not only was Hanagata busy with his profession, he also chose to remain single because he felt that dating other men was not going to appease his soul. He, too, rejected other doctors and nurses who tried to hit on him, mostly men.
Hanagata inched closer and held Fujima's hand. The warm touch made Fujima freeze on his seat, but the moment he looked into Hanagata's eyes, his heart melted, he felt his cheeks burning, and his eyes began to get glossy. As if he wanted to cry.
"Shall we start again, Kenji?" Hanagata proposed.
"Yes," Fujima whispered as he cupped Hanagata's face with one hand, and he inched closer to kiss his lover.
And inside Fujima's room, with clothes all over the floor, Hanagata looked down on him with a mix of tenderness and lust in his eyes. Fujima bit his lower lip and shut his eyes the moment Hanagata's fingers lightly traced the contours of his abs.
"Don't hold yourself back, Kenji," Hanagata said as he inched closer, his lips near Fujima's ears. "Go wild for me tonight."
Fujima whispered back, "I love you, Toru."
And with that confession, Hanagata kissed Fujima with so much passion before they went all the way that night. Their lovemaking was not as feral as it was when they were in high school, but it was still just as sweet and warm. It was now unhurried and deliberate.
They thought that their roads may never intersect again. But there they were, getting back to each other. For Toru, it had always been Kenji. And for Kenji, it will always be Toru.

THE JAPAN FOUNDATION TOURING FILM PROGRAMME 2025 announces full programme of films - Running 7 February to 31 March 2025
The UK’s biggest festival of Japanese cinema, the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme (JFTFP25), is back for its latest entertaining and thought-provoking instalment, presenting a packed programme on the theme of ‘Justice, Justification and Judgement in Japanese Cinema’. In a world where injustice runs rampant, cinematic expressions of justice seem inexhaustible: time and time again, heroic…

I started getting into Wish after some reluctance but now I enjoy them thoroughly to the point where I watch all of their content. Their content is still at the point where they are getting use to the camera? In a sense that they have a bit of difficulty coming up with topics all the time but I am fine with that because I enjoy their personalities. The Japanese members feel very chic(?) in a way that the Korean members are more softer. As for performing, they are pretty engaging, but my only main issue is Yushi’s facials? Now I am coming from the view of a Yushi and Riku biased person, but i don’t know if its only me but Yushi has inconsistent facials when performing, which at a base is alright but you can kind of tell if hes in a good mood that day? Wish is a song with lots of smiling or energetic facials and sometimes he doesn’t perform to that standard. Other than that I can see why he is the center, he has a charm to him that draws your eyes to him but I feel like he would need to be more consistent in other areas to reach his full potential. My favourite member to watch is Riku, he’s always high energy and fun while performing. I don’t know if you watch all their performances but if you do, do you think theres a stark difference?
I recently realised how Weekly Idol and similar programmes with funny games are essential to idol groups. They allow idols to show themselves and interest a potential fan into paying more attention. Even if a song or a face hooks in an MV or on a music show, the resistance to get into a new group is still big afterall.
Wish are quickly gathering fans, albeit Japanese and Korean for now. I've translated some comments under their YT videos, they get many people in their 20-s and 30-s who watch them to get a dose of cuteness and relax after work, heh. The fans also like the editing, they praise NCT Wish media content team all the time for speed and amount of work they do.
I do watch content and performances, however, I don't pay close attention to Yushi. I only notice he is a good dancer for the team's level. I will look into his facials now that you brought the topic up. Yushi was chosen as the centre because he is the main dancer, and was introduced early. He seems to progress in singing, if he puts energy into learning how to sing properly, he may become a very strong neo.
The issue of inconsistency is probably due to his introverted nature. He is more of a "go with the mood" person like Yuta, so he seems unpredictable. One minute he is shy and quite, another minute he is bold and mischiveious. Riku, on the other hand, has relatives who work in showbusiness. Seems like he was taught how to behave in public. He pays a lot of attention to working for the camera and delivering during performances. He wants to be a maknae, but he is mature mentally, he fits his age.
Wishies are getting the hang of producing content very quickly, their easiness with fanservice helps them. I hope they will continue with their tv-mini-dramas, it's good entertainment.
The members seem at the stage of being awkward with each other still. Particularly with Jaehee, who was added as the last one. Their web of friendships is in the process of being formed. I think it adds to the "difficulty" you've mentioned.
Riku is the mother of the group, but he is different from Doyoung. Doyoung gravitates towards the role, Riku is pushed into it instead, it's like he feels the need to fill in the role because someone has to. I wonder if he has younger siblings.
For now it is: Yushi and everyone (Yushi and Sakuya are roommates), Shion and Yushi (trained together), Shion and Riku (roommates, similar age), Riku and Ryo (seems to click), Riku and Jaehee (Riku is the most welcoming, they gravitate towards hyung-dongsaeng, probably are language pals). Sakuya and Ryo are bound together by age and training period, but there is some mismatch of characters they have to navigate around.
The Japanese are cheeky. Maybe because they moved abroad at a young age. Most Japanese never leave the country (only around 15% travel). In general, foreigners who you can meet outside of tourist groups don't represent the norm for their respective country. With a few exceptions of those countries where taking a leap year and travelling is in the culture. And border cities. In addition, SM selects the bright ones, those who stand out during evaluations.
Speaking of Jaehee. Once he gets over the stage of "wow, I can't believe it is happening", he will be noisy and entertaining. He is afraid to let loose currently, but he is funny, there is an actor in him.

Turning to substitutes part three
The loss of America as a superpower would have interesting implications for the entertainment and publishing industries of other countries, given it’s also a major supplier of soft power as well. You may know its imports as DC, Marvel, Overwatch, The Sims, Mortal Kombat and so on, but the loss of America as a superpower would mean these brands would decline in popularity. Maybe not immediately but where these brands would lose mass appeal over time, I feel if Russia were to step it for western countries or China for eastern and African countries then their brands will be popular in those places. It’s already happening to some extent, maybe not immediately in larger numbers but it’s there.
I think it’s going to get more common and deeply entrenched in the future, especially when America does decline as a superpower. So alternatives would inevitably and necessarily take place in people’s hearts, minds and wallets, it’s not something they’ll immediately like but something they turn to out of necessity. From a business stand point, this means having to serve markets where there’s a void left by another. Bumilangit would be best poised to satiate the Philippine diet for superheroes, especially should DC and Marvel go away for good. It needn’t to just be Bumilangit, since some other company would do. But without DC and Marvel that we’re going to get our hero fix from something else altogether.
We could even get our hero fix from somewhere else altogether too, since America’s decline would necessitate substitutes to take its place. While there were likely some Filipinos who’ve watched Japanese hero programmes before, these will be inevitable and necessary substitutes if DC and Marvel ever decline in popularity once America stops being this powerful. Both DC and Marvel’s disappearances will leave a void in the Philippine superhero market, so substitutes would have to take their place instead. So it would take both Super Sentai and Bumilangit to satiate the Philippine market for superheroes, even if some of them aren’t superheroes in the DC and Marvel school of thinking.
But they are adequate substitutes that satiate a consumer’s taste for flashy fights in bizarre outfits, there could be many more on the way. Some of these brands and stories may not even revolve around superheroes at all, but without American entertainment brands and stories around to supply it then something else will have to scratch that itch. Whatever those are, whatever they may be. I guess if Russia were to become a superpower again and have its media companies create brands that are very popular with westerners, they may not exactly or may even be nothing like DC and Marvel but would satiate people’s taste for entertainment just the same.
It would be no different if Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India and China did this to the Philippines but the gist is the same: without America to endlessly supply us with the likes of Dungeons and Dragons, DC, Marvel, Game of Thrones, Overwatch, Mortal Kombat and World of Warcraft, some nation’s own brands and properties will do. It’s already happening to some extent these days, though it remains if we’re even willing to let go of American brands or not. But the loss of America as a superpower necessitates alternatives in its place.

Sega Saturn - DOOM
Title: DOOM / ドゥーム
Developer: id Software / Williams Entertainment Inc. (Midway Home Entertainment) / Rage Software
Publisher: Soft Bank
Release date: 11 July 1997
Catalogue No.: T-18610G
Genre: Compilation / First Person Shooter
Ooh, Saturn Doom. A game that had every Saturn owner dropping their head in shame. Even the 32X version is better than this Saturn version thanks to bloody Rage and their piss-poor programming but wait! I'll have to explain how it turned out the way it did in the end. There is also a 3DO version of Doom as well, but that one is even worse, and has a development story for the ages! Anyway, back to Saturn Doom.
Saturn Doom in NTSC doesn't seem as bad as the PAL version but it's still windowed and quite slow with a poor frame rate. However, it does include both 'The Ultimate Doom' and 'Doom 2: Hell on Earth'. Not that that's going to save it though. There's quite a funny and very sneaky quote on the cover from the creator of Doom that says, “THE BEST DOOM EVER” Of course we all know he wasn't talking about this version. I wonder if that's legal.
Why does it sound like I'm taking damage when I walk down the steps? What really hurts the game however is the lousy frame rate. After a few levels the slow, jerky visuals can give you a massive headache. And when the frame rate slows, the controls become sluggish and inexact. Even opening a door looks choppy.
Anyway, the bottom line is that Saturn Doom is crap. Get the far superior Quake, Exhumed, or even Hexen. All of those run as smooth as anything. Quake is especially impressive!! Easily the best home console version bar the Dreamcast home brew port.
There is a reason for this, though. Saturn programmer Jim Bagley originally wrote an engine more suited to the Sega Saturn, allowing VDP1 to handle the textured walls, floors, and ceilings. John Carmack reportedly vetoed the idea on behalf of id Software, as he did not like the affine texture warping inherent with 3D renderers that do not support texture perspective correction (like the VDP1). This means that wall rendering is done column by column by VDP1. Floor and ceiling rendering is handled by the dual SH-2 CPUs and transferred to VDP1 to be drawn line by line, sector by sector. Only the HUD and background sky texture are updated separately by VDP2.
To make matters worse, support for the Taisen Cable was stripped from the North American release despite the back of the US box claiming the game is "deathmatch-ready with two-player link capabilities".
There is an internet urban legend that the Japanese Sega Saturn version of Doom which was published by Soft Bank has better performance. I own the American and Japanese versions of it. The JP version still runs pretty bad - dropping frames in busier areas is the same as the US and PAL editions. The final result was one part of the struggles developers faced when trying to exert the most potential out of the complicated architecture that powered the Sega Saturn.

BALITANG INTERNASYONAL: Japanese Public Satellite Broadcaster 'NHK BS Premium' to be merged into 'NHK BS' by early Christmas 2023 and being axed out after 13 years on the air [#FirstOnOneNETnews]
(Originally published on July 8th, 2024 due to lack of news gathering.)
TOKYO, JAPAN -- For the first time in Japanese TV history, NHK BS Premium goes dark in the early hours of the morning on July 1st, 2024, which to be seeked to consolidate its broadcasting satellite services.
At first glance on November 30th, 2023… NHK, the leading national public television in Japan will broadcast a late-night special countdown programme and merge 'NHK BS Premium' into one 'NHK BS' on December 1st, that said year on Channel BS101 to improve operational efficiency and changing media response habits for the general public.
Before the BS goes dark, 'NHK BS Premium 4K' (on Channel BS103) will broadcast a special programme of the night featuring famous places and scenic spots in Japan. Effectively after that, the channel will be used as an empty emergency broadcast channel to provide important information, in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis across the country.
'NHK BS Premium' started in April 2011, and has been broadcasting a variety of content including culture, education, mostly anime & entertainment and has built up a big audience over the years.
The first classic aired the repeat from 2002, several weeks or months after April 2011 debut. A classic anime rerun can be called "The 12 Kingdoms". Fortunately, we independently cannot confirm this from our news team at OneNETnews since no one saw, or being witnessed the first broadcast on television in the 2010s.
The highlight of this channel was the anime series "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc" which aired on Sunday morning (January 7th, 2018) just a few years before the global scare of Coronavirus Disease-19 (CoViD-19) in China. Fans loved it so much that it became a staple of the BS Premium channel. But on April 1st, as reported by Comic Natalie, it was announced at "Sakura Fest 2023" last year that Season 2 is in production and will conclude the whole story. But it might be the last 2nd season of this said series in the future.
Back in the present from the final minutes after June 30th, 2024; NHK BS Premium is no longer available if you're watching on both traditional monthly Digital Cable boxes or converter sets in Japan and legal internet protocol television (IPTV) providers. On the plus side, NHK BS is still broadcasting its regular programs and will continue to deliver quality content to the local and regional communities. It still covers national news on the satellite channel and local news in your area on free-TV through NHK General TV that features your local news in Tokyo as an example.
The NHK family of networks will continue to serve you in Japan, even after "BS Premium" is history. Viewers will still have access to its various programs on NHK BS, from animes (sometimes commercial-free or not), culture insights and more.
So, the public broadcasting satellite service of "BS Premium" has ended for good and will have a temporary 4K channel branding alongside the "NHK BSP" designation until mid-2024. The media landscape is always changing and broadcasters need to adapt and evolve with the times, thus closing a chapter in Japan's digital broadcasting history that spanned over 13 years.
