To 'Pray For Our Enemies' is often taken as a call to extend the love of God and grace to our enemies, and while that is true there’s another application of this — but it all depends on how you interpret the word FOR.

'For' can be used several ways like 'the car is out for repair', 'she runs for her health' - and in today’s verse we commonly interpret it like 'we are praying FOR her healing.' But consider this example of: “I am going FOR broke!” as in, Seeking To OBTAIN Something That I Do Not Have DESPITE THE RISK.”

This last case can have a tremendous benefit because when we pray to 'obtain' an enemy, we are praying for God to actually bring that enemy CLOSER TO US! While that may sound crazy, here are two examples when drawing our enemies close can HELP us more than HARM us.

David would never have been King of Israel unless he chose to draw close to Goliath, but what if he never left his flock?! You see, when he prayed FOR his enemy (i.e. to DRAW HIM CLOSER) then and only then could he have had the victory! And in the classic movie 'Top Gun,' Maverick knew that if he could DRAW HIS ENEMY CLOSER, then and only then could he obtain the victory!

In both cases victory was only possible when drawing their enemy closer.

The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzche aptly summarized this saying “What does not kill me makes me stronger” but that requires being willing to “Fly Into The DANGER ZONE.”

Friend, when trials come, and your enemy comes closer, consider it a God-given opportunity to both test and strengthen you, because in order to be “More than a conqueror” (Romans 8:37) means being willing to boldly stepping into that place of opportunity.

Foundation in Christ: A Christ-Centered life is fully anchored in the teachings and example of Jesus. Christ isn’t merely an influence but the cornerstone that shapes every aspect of life. Reflecting His Love: This emphasizes that the believer’s daily actions, whether in relationships, service, or decision-making, are aligned with the mission of spreading Christ’s love. 2. Courageous:

Bold in Faith: Courage, rooted in faith, means standing firm in the face of adversity, drawing strength from the assurance that Christ is interceding on their behalf. This boldness comes not from personal resolve but from confidence in God’s presence and promises, allowing them to endure hardship while holding fast to their faith.

Advancing God’s Kingdom: This aspect of courage goes beyond resilience and speaks to active engagement in the world. A C-4 believer boldly advances God’s mission, undeterred by personal cost or opposition, knowing that they are backed by divine strength. Their courage fuels their commitment to furthering God’s kingdom, reflecting the confidence that they can accomplish great things through Christ.

3. Conqueror:

More Than Victorious: As conquerors, C-4 believers embody the truth of Romans 8:37: "we are more than conquerors through Christ." Their victory isn’t just ordinary but overwhelming, transcending their own abilities. This victory encompasses both spiritual and practical realms, grounded in the certainty that God’s power is at work within them.

Empowered by Christ: The believer’s source of triumph is Christ, not their own efforts. By relying on divine empowerment, they live in the reality that Christ’s victory over sin and death ensures their ultimate success. As conquerors, they understand that apart from Christ, they can do nothing (John 15:5), but with Him, they can overcome all obstacles.

Mission:

Glorifying God: The mission of a C-4 is to live a life that continually seeks to glorify God in every word and action. They recognize that every victory is a testament to God’s grace and power, approaching life with humility and acknowledging that their strength and success come from Him. Their ultimate aim is to reflect God’s glory, confronting challenges with the confidence that Christ’s love sustains them.

Emulating Christ: The mission is also a call to embody Christ’s love, humility, and strength in all areas of life. A C-4 actively reflects Christ’s character in relationships, decisions, and challenges, relying on unwavering faith and grace. They are not passive but fully engaged in the fight of faith, drawing strength from Christ’s example and knowing that His victory assures their own.

In all, a Christ-Centered Courageous Conqueror lives a life that points to the transforming power of God’s love, inspiring others to pursue a deeper relationship with Christ.

Here are 7 practical steps to live out the identity of a Christ-Centered Courageous Conqueror (C-4) in daily life:

1. Start Your Day with Prayer and Scripture

Prioritize time with God each morning through prayer and reading Scripture. This keeps Christ at the center of your life and strengthens your relationship with Him. Pray for guidance, courage, and wisdom to face the day’s challenges, and meditate on key Bible passages like Romans 8:31-39 to remind yourself of God’s promises.

2. Reflect Christ’s Love in Relationships

Intentionally practice kindness, patience, and forgiveness in your interactions with others, modeling Christ’s love. Whether at work, home, or with friends, aim to reflect His grace in all your relationships. This includes being slow to anger, quick to listen, and eager to help those in need.

Day 19: We are more than conquerors Our country, Philippines, had been conquered Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese. But their conquest takes hundred years to be ended before we claim our independence. How does it relate to the spiritual life? Well, we’re in the battles everyday, both seen and unseen battles, and we’re sometimes defeated by the problems and worries. The love of God has never been subjected to the earthly limits, it conquers all no matter what we’re doing and what we’re experiencing right now. If we know and claim His love on us, undoubtedly we can do everything through Him. If we can’t handle those problems and situations, including temptations and our sins, we can come to the Lord and surrender everything to Him. Because, the more we repented and surrendered to Him, the more the grace and His that we can experience from Him, and the more of His strength that we can gain that causes us to do everything. Don’t lose hope in these situations like the ones we know today, as well as don’t quit in the middle of our battles. Give everything to the Lord. For those who believe in Him, think that this is not our battles but to Him (2 Chronicles 20:15). Therefore, not even constraints and everything that can separare us from the love of God. Believe that He can do, and He will bring us into the state of more than conquerors.
