The fact that we allow phone companies to get away with just straight up not including an essential bit of hardware needed to make the phone work and now has to be brought separately is completely atrocious

my contract ran out on phone, so i had to upgrade and like usually i have time to think about this beforehand |D This time i had 0 time to think about this because it never occurred to me. Because usually, my phone breaks wellll before my contract ends and I have to start researching for months. This time. My phone LIVED to the end of its contract, and i never had to research, and suddenly ‘oh shit my contracts about to end i need to upgrade or w/e.’ Panicked researching. So i picked a phone that costs the same as the last one so my bill wouldnt rise, and one with great camera reviews cause snazzy photos are best. But omg i’ve been setting it up allllll day ; A ; im so over having to adjust so many things. And i need to pick a protective case but there’s too many choices jsdghjkdgh Past!Me is used to having phones that DIE before her contract ends at all. I’m not used to having a functioning phone that lasted beyond the contract. I woulda kept it too... but these things tend to have ‘planned obsolescence’ and I aint risking that. I have too many war stories of my phones dying to trust like that qwq;;;  but jesus christ, this is taking 10 yrs to organise things the way i want them. Welp, I got 2 years with this phone. Let’s see if it lasts till 2020. I hope this Hauwei can live up to the high fuckin bar my S7 Edge created. Never been treated so right by a phone before. Sob. ......... Also still waiting for EE to confirm my insurance........ e A e It’s on my details. But I also got a text saying my insurance was cancelled (presumably on the S7), but still waiting for the confirmation that the new insurance has STARTED on this new phone.
