Some new manga I got a couple of months ago.

A lot of it is for series I'm already reading, but I did pick up a couple of new series to try. I had heard a lot about Demon Slayer lately, so I decided to get a few volumes and see what all the fuss is about.

I also picked up a couple volumes of Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction, after discovering Inio Asano through watching Manben and perusing his YouTube channel.

First Impressions - Summer 2017

I’m sorry for not managing to do first impression during spring. In fact, I was planning on skipping this one too and making a come back during fall, but maybe I’ll just let you catch the ball this time. It seems that I have forgotten pictures of a few series, but you’ll forgive me, right? It’s the impression that matters after all! A few weeks later, I’ll hopefully be back with the Fall Impressions.  Kakegurui   To tell the truth, I was starting this series in hope for some romance, but the plot caught me off guard. I mean, who doesn’t like to watch gambling? I seriously have no idea what they are doing and how they are doing it, but I love the suspence and thrill. It’s been a while since I’ve watched any fendom (female dominance) animes, but this one seems great! Especially since I know I would never be able to survive in this kind of enviroment. Nanamaru Sanbatsu Japan, what is the next type of anime you will bring to us? We have rice as human, swords as human, plushies as human, anime about postman, anime about jail and now... Quiz! I seriously love to see what this story brings to us, because while I’m so bad at this, I like quizzes. I even have a book that has this same main theme! I heard a lot of people complaining about the main females voice not being suitable and being rough and out of the place because she’s rookie. And while I do admit that she doesn’t sound professional, I’d like see what she’ll become in the future.    Tsuredure Children  There is no good season, if there’s no romance in cluded. And when comedy is added to this, you have a perfect series! I have so far seen only one episode, but now that the series is completed, I’ll surely start watching this! Given the videos I’ve seen, I’m up to some fun rollercoaster ride. OwO  Dive!!  Who wouldn’t like some skinship and nakes teenagers? I admit that I do like them. Sport is life and so I find myself watching a new one. We had Free with typical swimming and freestyle and now, this story tells us about diving! Oh so fun. During the olympics I have so much fun watching diving (though, female one) I’m sure this will be fun. Konbini Kareshi Not a strong series, but I’m for some good romance. I hope I get to see something out of ordinary shoujo love-romance. Seriously, be kind to me! I’m having expectations here!  Made In Abyss I think this will be the dark horse of this season. Originally, I wasn’t expecting much of it and even had second thoughts whether or not to have this in my watchlist, but I have heard so much good responce from this series that I just had to watch it. I still don’t have much information on it, so I wonder what kind of story this anime, that has the same art style as Otogi Jushin Akazukin, has! Ballroom e Youkoso Definitely a series I’ve been waiting for! I’ve been reading this manga for a few years now and I got super excited the moment I found out that it’s getting anime adaption. And more over, we’re going to have 24 episodes! Of course, there’s no much dance in the series - as they’re mainly focusing on the stances and holds and everyone is creeped out by how long necks these people have, but I’m enjoying it to the fullest. Tatara’s seiyuu is doing a great job for being a rookie!  Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou...  Mostly started this because of the romance genre, which I have yet to see in the anime, though. On the other hand, the plot has me completely wrapped around in it’s finger. I kinda feel like watching a korean drama, where the poor and weak are rebelling against the rich and the whole school is corrupted. I’m definitely going to start reading the light novel once I’ve completed this series!  Gamers!  This is a series I was going to drop out from the watchlist because I didn’t find it so fascinating, but surprisingly, this was actually quite well received. I thought about giving it a second chance and we’ll see what will happen. Maybe I manage to complete this series... maybe not(?)  Hitorijime My Hero  I’m up for some good shounen-ai, if I can have the opportunity. It’s as simple as that! Lololo!

Since the spring season has just started this is my what I’ll be watching list. As always I’m gonna drop half of this list lol.

A few notes- The Reflection- I heard this was written by Stan Lee so it better be awesome. Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni- this better be a parody because if it’s just some generic isekai story I’m out. Koi to uso- I like the art, the premise, and the opening song so this can be my next favorite romance. Fate/apocrypha- I’m currently watching the fate series but I heard it’s okay to watch this because it’s a new story with new characters. Netsuzou TRap- I’m worried because I heard the manga was great but the studio behind the anime has only made shitty shorts. Vatican Kiseki- I’m just hoping it isn’t going to be boring and slow. Kakegurui- I’m so hyped for this because I read the manga before and a it’s fucking amazing. 18if- we still have no info on what this is about but the pv was trippy and the opening is great because it’s by TeddyLoid . Tenshi no 3P- I’m worried this will become a pedo anime. Mahoujin guru guru- their is a revamp of an old anime that was apparently really good so I’m looking forward to it and oresama is doing the op.

hey also i’m going to be annoying and make a summary post of my feelings towards nana maru san batsu though legitimately no one cares.

i mean, in reading the manga after watching only the first episode, and then going into the anime from there, i feel vaguely disappointed? i feel like, admittedly, they could have skipped some of the filler in the middle episodes and either added in more of the asagaoka tournament (though admittedly i feel like some of it went too long- namely, mari’s 2nd round and sort of shiki+chisato’s third round?) or dedicated an episode to the next part of the manga, where mari confronts her brother about quiz bowl, and then ended with mari cutting her hair and the beginning of the whole summer camp arc.

i mean, they rarely varied from the anime besides skipping some parts of the tournaments, so any complaints i have about the plot itself apply to the anime as well- though, admittedly, I don’t have many plot related complaints.

in terms of va’s, mari’s va really grew on me after a while- the one i really didn’t enjoy was gakuto’s. i mean, i know that he’s older than the rest of the group, but it made him sound like puberty hit him like a fucking truck. i mean he’s only like 17 at most and he sounds like a man. let him sound less cool and suave and more like a teenager (though i guess iqura could have intended it that way- he always makes gakuto seem much more mature than the rest of the group, and that’s a characterization issue that has upset me since day one- gakuto seems unable to be just a regular kid, and he deserves to be able to be one.)

the op and ed were both fucking jams and y’all can never stop me from listening to them i love those!!!

overall, i feel like this deserved like one or two more episodes. or a ova. i hope it gets an ova.

do i think this is gonna get a season two? probably not. it wasn’t popular- tsurezure children overshadowed it and the ballroom anime did a similar concept better. but i’ll be damned if i don’t continue to read the manga for this. it’s a good show, it just suffered from certain issues. 

anyway, it’s weird for it to be over. i’ve been watching this once a week since july, and it’s so surreal to have a show i honestly really like end, especially when, noah fence, the final episode doesn’t feel like it should be the final episode.
