Blayke J Morris, Florida inmate B71117, born 2003, incarceration intake July 2021 at age 18, scheduled for release May 2040
Attempted Murder, Poessision of an Illeagal Weapon
In May 2020, a teenage couple from Florida were arrested on attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting the young woman's former boyfriend in the face.
Kayla Rittenhouse, 18, and Blayke Morris, 17, both were taken into custody.
Besides the attempted murder charge, Morris also faces additional counts of possession of a short barrel shotgun and possession of a firearm by a minor.
According to a statement from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home at around 6.30am after receiving reports of a shooting.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Rittenhouse’s ex-boyfriend, aged 21, arrived at her home that morning to reconcile with her and ‘settle some personal differences’ with her new boyfriend, Morris.
The victim was standing in the driveway of Rittenhouse’s home and speaking to her from 20 feet away when Morris, who was said to be 'laying in wait' behind a wheeled trash can, emerged from his hiding place brandishing a sawed-off shotgun and opened fire on his romantic rival.
The round struck the victim in the face, inflicting a serous injury. He was rushed to a area hospital.
According to an arrest report, the victim's father was sitting in his car parked outside Rittenhouse's home and witnessed his son getting shot.
The woman's relatives, including her grandmother and sister, were also present at the scene at the time of the confrontation.
When interviewed by investigators, Morris claimed that the victim had made threats prior to the incident.
Morris also told the cops that Rittenhouse knew that he had bought the sawed-off shotgun, and that she told him if her ex-boyfriend came onto the property 'to shoot him.'
Video recorded on Rittenhouse's cellphone captured a portion of her exchange with her ex-boyfriend leading up to the shooting. In it, the victim told the teen that he wanted to reconcile with her and 'did not wish to harm her.'
According to the police report, when Morris emerged from his hiding place armed with the shotgun, the victim told him, 'Oh, you're gonna shoot me?' and took his hands out of his pockets. He had nothing in his hands.
When the gunshot went off, striking the victim in the face, he was standing 25 feet away from Morris and 20 feet away from Rittenhouse.
The arrest report stated that the 18-year-old girl was 'not being threatened by the victim...', meaning that 'there was no legitimate claim of self-defense' by either Rittenhouse or Morris.
After more than a year of proceedings, Morris was convicted in June 2021. No charges were filed against Rittenhouse.

US AMERICANS!
I know you don't normally care, but PLEASE be excited about the cricket!
Your team just beat Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. They are one of the top teams in the world and runners up of the last World Cup.
This is a huge deal.
youtube
The tournament is also being co-hosted in the States. This match was played in Texas. They also have matches happening in Nassau County and Florida.
USA have won both their matches so far. They still have to play India in the group stage which will be a big challenge, but if they play like they have been I don't see why they can't beat Ireland, the other team in their group.
Please be excited about this! This could be such an important moment for cricket in the US. I am genuinely excited about it and what it means for the upcoming Major League Cricket tournament.
(I am saying this as an England fan who has never once supported the USA in anything, so you know it must be a big deal 😂)

A 20-year-old New Jersey man has been arrested for allegedly flying to Florida to attack a fellow gamer with a hammer following an "online altercation" that the pair had gotten into after meeting in the virtual fantasy world of ArcheAge, police say.
Edward Kang is now facing an attempted second-degree murder charge after the assault that unfolded early Sunday in Fernandina Beach, which left the victim with severe but non-life-threatening head injuries, according to Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper.
"I just want to let you know that this is a weird one," Leeper said during a press conference. "Some things make you say ‘hmm’. Some things you just can’t make up. There are some things that make you say ‘what in the world was he thinking’? And there are some things that make you say ‘you’re not going to believe this.’ Well, this case makes you say all four of those."
Leeper said Kang and the victim had never met in person but were "acquainted through an online video game called ArcheAge," which he described as a "fantasy-based, massively multiplayer online game, or an MMO, where players interact in an immersive, virtual world, similar to World of Warcraft."
"This video game is something where you can name characters, you can fight other characters and kill them – I don’t know what transpired between the victim and the suspect, but something made the suspect want to come down to Florida and injure that other individual," Leeper said.
The sheriff said his deputies were first called to a home in Fernandina Beach early Sunday to respond to a physical altercation and "upon arrival, they discovered a significant amount of blood in the entryway of the home and in the victim’s bedroom."
Police say the victim’s stepfather reported being awoken in the middle of the night by screams for help, and he went to investigate, he allegedly found his stepson on the ground in a physical struggle with Kang.
Leeper says Kang – who was wearing all black clothing, gloves and a mask – entered the unlocked home and waited in a hallway to attack the victim when he took a bathroom break during a late-night gaming session.
An investigation revealed that days earlier, Kang took a Delta flight from Newark, New Jersey to Jacksonville, Florida, before purchasing a hammer and flashlight at a hardware store – which deputies found receipts for in the hotel room that Kang had been staying at in Fernandina Beach, according to Leeper. Kang reportedly told his family he was heading to Florida to visit a friend of around the same age that he had met years ago on an online video game.
"When the suspect was asked why he did what he did, the suspect stated that he is a bad person online, talking about the victim," Leeper said. "In addition, the suspect asked our deputy how much time in jail do you get for breaking and entering and assault? And I would say Mr. Kang, it’s going to be a long time before you play video games again."

I'm sorry but if The Spot was from any other state than NY, he'd be from Florida.
I can and will make a detailed post explaining to y'all why that man would be a pure gator country boy from Polk or Nassau. He wouldn't be from Leon or any of the nice counties either. God forbid he's from Duval or Miami-Dade.
Mother fucker would set up a contraption during a hurricane and cackle as it fucking ran off of cat 3 wind gusts. He'd eat at a waffle house on a constant

The wage increase and yet it still more work for us to do as a city it's not much but it is a start I know most of aspire to be millionaires and billionaires so the minimum wage is nothing to them but it say a lot about a city when they can pay the correct salary to employees and people like myself that deserve the better salary the tax cuts the better job environment and happier people to work around and yes I need the more money on my paycheck for a better quality of life , for myself and in the neighborhoods I got to live in and it is only going to get better with more restrictive things in our life getting put away and passing away to a much better and brighter days in full prosperity for all of us with our elected officials in the driver's seat of our leadership .
Tax cuts to help the everyday person keep more of their check in their pockets cut the tax rates in New York City by 4 percent I see it as New York State taxes % 8.82 to % 4 percent and business tax cuts to create more jobs the wages did increase which is very good but with the taxes on my check and how much they take out of my earnings it is like I'm still making that $ 11 dollars or in some case it is like we still making $ 6 . 25 dollars an hour in an expensive city like New York City so technically it is like we are as employees are still making $ 10 dollars an hour instead of that $ 6 dollar increase that was implemented by me I proposed it and it went through the wage increase

School Board Of Nassau County Florida Must Put Back In Libraries Three Dozen Books As Part Of A Settlement Reached Thursday With Students And Parents Who Sued Over What They Said Was An Unlawful Decision To Limit Access To Dozens Of Titles Containing LGBTQ+ content – Miami Florida reporting
Under the agreement the School Board of Nassau County must restore access to three dozen titles including “And Tango Makes Three,” a children's picture book based on a true story about two male penguins that raised a chick together at New York's Central Park Zoo.
Authors Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson were plaintiffs in the lawsuit against the district, which is about 35 miles (about 60 kilometers) northeast of Jacksonville along the Georgia border.
The suit was one of several challenges to so-called book bans since Republican state lawmakers last year passed, and Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law, legislation making it easier to challenge educational materials that Republicans consider pornographic and obscene.
Last month six major publishers and several well-known authors filed a federal lawsuit in Orlando arguing that some provisions of the law violate the First Amendment rights of publishers, authors and students.
“Fighting unconstitutional legislation in Florida and across the country is an urgent priority,” Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins Publishers, Macmillan Publishers, Simon & Schuster and Sourcebooks said in a statement.
Among the books removed in Nassau County were titles by Toni Morrison, Khaled Hosseini, Jonathan Safran Foer, Jodi Picoult and Alice Sebold.
Under the settlement the school district agreed that “And Tango Makes Three” is not obscene, is appropriate for students of all ages and has value related to teaching.

The brother responsible for killing his three siblings and a niece before turning the gun on himself may "panicked" over the family's plan to sell the Long Island home he had lived in his entire life, police said a day after all five family members were found shot to death.
Police spent 10 hours Sunday combing the quiet Syosset cul-de-sac where Joseph DeLucia Jr., is believed to have killed the four victims in the rear of the home before stepping out into the front lawn and shooting himself in the chest, Det. Capt. Stephen Fitzpatrick explained Monday.
The victims were identified as Joanne Kearns, 69, of Tampa, Florida; Frank DeLucia, 64, of Durham, North Carolina; Tina Hammond, 64, of East Patchogue, New York; and her daughter, Victoria Hammond, 30, also of East Patchogue.
The family home on Wyoming Court was one of the most "horrific" scenes ever seen by Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, who spent a press briefing Monday pleading with the public to come forward when concerned about someone's mental well-being.
Neighbors, he explained, shared accounts after Sunday's murder-suicide of the man allegedly warning of a shooting. The commissioner said DeLucia had told neighbors, "If you hear gunshots, don't bother calling 911 it'll be too late." Ryder stressed that police had not yet been able to verify those accounts.
A neighbor called 911 around 12 p.m. after the 59-year-old had already fired the lethal rounds in what police believe was a perceived dispute over the home. DeLucia had lived in the home his entire life and did not wish to leave.
"The perception of Joseph Jr. is that he was being cut out of the will," said Fitzpatrick, who also confirmed the man had "past mental issues."
According to police, there was a documented welfare check on the address back in 2022, but the man "was not displaying any signs of anything that we would take action." He also had a prior arrest in 1983 for impaired driving.
Neighbors and police have confirmed that one week ago, the siblings' mother, 95-year-old Theresa DeLucia, had passed away. Several of her children had flown in from out of state to attend services and attend to her will.
Police officials said the siblings had gathered Sunday at the home to meet with a realtor to discuss plans to sell the property. They believe DeLucia Jr., upset about the idea of moving, was driven to fatal measures. According to Ryder, surviving family members assured police that the man was not being cut out of the will, but he was going to be moved out of the home and relocated.
A 12-gauge pump action shotgun was recovered at the residence, police said. The firearm was legally purchased by the gunman, they explained.
Wendy Paisner lives across the street and saw the woman's children at the house the past few days, including one that traveled in from North Carolina.
"I just saw that they pulled in and they were there to be there for the mother's funeral, and then to pay respects and then to sell the house," she told News 4.
Paisner said DeLucia lived at the home with one of her adult sons who had mental health issues.
"I think the mother looked after him," she said. "He really needed support, emotional support."
