This week I tried to take a step back from my work and analyse a bit the steps that I've been taking so far. This was also determined by the fact that we( Anete, Romain and I) decided to collaborate and see how we can learn from eachother by combining our subjects. I needed to know what my interest is in and what I want to explore through my subject before working together.
In the beginning I started by learning a lot of netmaking techniques/ I wanted to make my own nets, get into this world and see from there what I find insteresting about them. Meanwhile, I was finding a lot of inspiration from different photographs and books, but having an overview of them now made me see that they were mostly related to nets in relationship to human bodies.
Through the threads that I used I explored different tactilities that nets can have and by integrating the foam I exagerated even more this feelig, and turned it into an actual experience. Allard asked me last time if I thought about it ( the foam net) as something that I would wear, but actually while working on it I was thinking about how it would feel if I stepped on it, or if I sqweazed it, or pressed it with my hands; it was more about my interraction with the net, that I would make an action and the net would respond in different ways.
So after thinking and revising everything that I made so far I think that the direction that I would like to focus on is the interraction between body and nets and how I can enhance this by focusing on specific directions such as : tactility, movement, sound, weight and visual impact.
