literally HOW the fuck do so many cis people get SO upset when a family member comes out as trans?? I just can't even fathom the sheer stupidity it takes to equate "My family member has a different gender than I thought they did" with "I've lost this family member forever and will never be able to speak to them or laugh with them or exist in their presence ever again"
What the fuck is so hard about your family member being trans?? And don't give me that "It's a SIN!" bullshit, because we all know that's been proven wrong like a thousand times.
Like, the only somewhat valid reason I can come up with is being worried for your family member's safety, for example; worrying about them being bullied, hurt, denied medical care, etc. But even so, that's not the time for cis grief. You need to allow your family member to have trans joy. Be happy that they've found an identity they're comfortable with.
I will just never be capable of understanding when a cis person's first response to transness is distress.

Can you imagine starscream bumping into bayverse jetfire and making fun of him for being so old and jetfire bumping into TF one starscream only to hear him complain about losing his leadership position to a bot shorter than him.
