No Hard Feelings

The ball is everything you imagined and more. The crowds of trolls, highblood and lowblood, chosen and unchosen, all dressed to the nines and beyond. Although there is also a vampiric influence on the theme, you're more concerned with the clown-centric aspects. You aren't one for extravagance, but tonight is the exception. You're dressed the most lavishly you've ever been in your life, and you find yourself a bit saddened that you'll never have reason to dress like this again once the ball ends.

Your ringleader is a stern man of staunch simplicity, and he expects the same of his congregation. He discourages the over indulgence of frivolities and grand displays of impracticality, and as such attending the annual twelfth perigee ball is a notion constantly met with his strong disapproval. However, as this sweep pays honor to the dark carnival, he is willing to make an exception.

With his permission gained, you are excited to be here with your fellow worshipper and laughsassin Noodle Eitlig. The two of you take part in food and drink, and you dance alongside the other attendees on the floor. Your inexperience makes your moves timid and clumsy, but Noodle is more than capable of picking up your slack. The two of you take a moment to rest between songs.

And then you see her. Her statuesque form is one of intimate familiarity to you, and you can't help but stare.

Maeron stands with champagne flute in hand as she effortlessly mingles and converses with another troll. Your heart aches faintly as you remember the former intensity of your feelings for her and the utter devastation you felt when those feelings were brutalized and cast aside. You want to forget you ever felt anything for her, but she was your first true object of affection.

She's so close, only ten or so feet away. She doesn't seem to notice you yet.

Suddenly your view is cut off, and the unexpectedness of the interruption causes you to jolt. Noodle stands in front of you like a wall. He takes your hands in his and tells you he wishes to resume dancing on the other side of the room. You look up at him pathetically before nodding and agreeing to relocate.

You look back at her one last time. She looks over and finally sees you. With a roll of her eyes and the ugliest grimace you've ever seen on a person, she turns her back to you and continues her conversation.

And it hurts.

It hurts more than you expect, but a squeeze of your hand from your date reminds you that there are others more deserving of your affections. There are people for you to love who will love you as well.

You'll never have Maeron.

But you don't need her, do you.

Are they a cuddler?

Casually I guess. He won't usually instigate a cuddle session, but he will invite his quads in for a hug and let them cuddle as much as they want from there.

Do they believe in soul mates?

Absolutely. Some things are just fated by the messiahs, and quadmates are one of them.

Are they protective of their partner?

His two current quads are his mate Sibbyl and his rail Takimi, and he would totally protect either of them if needed. Then again, his honor as a laughsassin would be on the line if he didn't, even beside his personal feelings.

Noodle tends to be more the quietly confident sort than the type to show off. Tho he'd probably do something fun with his juggling clubs if Takimi wanted a show.

when he comes back to his carnival, he and Sibbyl always have nights to pamper each other. Noodle brings back souvenirs and then they both get face masks and have a long soak and the stuff. Pretty much doing anything that takes a long time more than washing up and reapplying paint. He'd probably extend an offer to Takimi as well though he knows how her congregation views vanity and the like.

When he graduated from an apprentice to a full laughsassin, that was a pretty big occasion.

Proxus brought over cookies for the three of them to decorate and eat.

Noodle got Takimi a religious study guide by a famous clown both their circuses respect, a subtle drama-comedy mask ring, and a blanket big enough for both of them for when he comes by for feelings jams.

What's your favorite thing about noodle? 👁️

I'm not a big clown person (no problem with them just not my thing) but Noodle is this fun mix of things you'd expect from clowns and the assassin side of his job. He's a quiet, understated guy, pretty intelligent, but he has a side to him that is definitely whimsical (see his Ball outfit).

He'd be a funny lil guy if he weren't McFuck Huge.

You'd been happy for Takimi to stay with you. She was the main reason you'd stayed as long as you had instead of heading back to your own carnival already.

You sit up to stretch your legs and see her stir on the chair next to you.

Maybe you'll stay just a bit longer. You don't want to wake her.
