Me: I need something crazy to happen to tire me out so I can fall asleep in time to wake up well-rested at 6AM
Spider in my bed: say no more :)
#i literally JUST showered and now i’m covered in sweat from waving a vacuum around and yelling. great!#i would’ve put it outside but it was huge and i didn’t want to touch it and also it was NOT cooperating#it was like ‘i am sleeping in this bed tonight’ and i was like ‘no the fuck you’re not. i need to be up at 6am’#let it be known that i will kill in cold blood any creature that tries to interfere with my sleep. including spiders which i actually like#most of the time anyway#and well. now i think i’ve given up on trying to sleep well. because i know i won’t#it is going to be 19 fucking degrees all night and i need to drink iced water to cool down#and also so i don’t wake up with a dehydration headache#so this means i am going to need to pee about 8 times tonight#and i brought my writing notebook to bed with me so i can go to sleep without screentime#(ignore the fact that this post is coming to you live from a screen)#so that’s pretty much going to mean i either end up staying up til 2am having amazing ideas#or writer’s block hits HARD and i read the odyssey instead#OMG did i mention i bought emily wilson’s translation!! i haven’t yet finished the introduction but i’m so excited about it#it’s such a gorgeous edition as well. i look at it and i’m like ‘yeah. this is how this ancient epic poem was supposed to be presented’#apparently she’s going to translate the iliad as well and i cannot wait#so that’s where i’m at right now. i also think i’ve pulled something in my knee. so uhhhh#i am going to have an absolutely miserable day tomorrow but it’s fine. they’re not even going to give me the job probably. but it’s FINE#i’m FINE#personal
