I'm fed up with people who bring out this scene to make people believe that they are right to be neutral...
To an extent this is true, the sides ravaged the land during the war....and then you see that the greens began this war just for their own gain, most of them were responsible for most of the disasters (the riverlands burnings, Strong extermination, Bitterbridge; invitation to Dalton Greyjoy [yes Daemon later invites him, Otto did first and the blacks anticipated so this is "both" kind-sorta]). And later the greens stole the treasury so Rhaenyra couldn't properly feed or "restore" KL as much as you can during an active war.
I think that it's important to remember that Shireen is talking to her father/the man trying to gain the throne thru his maledom and blood relation to the last king AND her entire life has been relatively in the shadows. She's a kid dependent on him raised by both him and her mom to be more or less obedient to authority figures and keep most of her thoughts to herself as to not stir shit, from what I remember. Finally, in Westerosi history, it's been taught ever since the Danc ended that the war was more a tragic travesty that decimated the kingdoms and not that Rhaenyra was a usurper, as Stannis thinks. Yes, there would be some who cite her gender as reason enough for her not to be queen AND by and large women are seen as incapable of fully ruling, the other thing is that the Targs and Robert by extension (bc some have used his Targ grandma to legitimize his rule) derive their claims through Rhaenyra's bloodline. Not Aegon's. And still, she had more supporters based on a head-of-house' right to choose and others to mind their business about it. Aegon was thought of as "grasping" by the respected Grandmaester Kaeth. So again, an unfortunate and catastrophic event where siblings fight each other and the realm (ironic, bc those lords chose to fight 🙄) suffers for it.
Even if she thought, genuinely, that Rhaenyra was the rightful ruler, she's not gonna tell her dad that (likely). Finally, I don't know if she ever said something similar in the books, I always count down the pages when I read through Davos. Not conducive to fair understanding of characters.
Still, Books > show adaptations. Esp when it's GoT and HotD, both which have adapted the orig characters form not well to horrifically ands way off base. You're just reinforcing Condal's ego thrashing that's already been shown to mirror D&D's.

had the good witch on repeat yesterday!!!! miss maisie went offff 🤌🏼
feel free to ignore the rest of this if u don’t wanna get into it lmaooo
ok so I heard this part of body better and I was like. this is buckcoded:
Do you love her? When you're twisting up all her sheets, do you suffer? Do I sit there and watch you sleep? If you love her Was I just an idea you liked? A convenient use of time With obedient blue eyes
aside from the “obedient blue eyes” thing as an obvious buck connection lol, the vibes are like. between s4 and s5 buddie fwb with secret pining on both sides, and then eddie decides to save himself some heartache and tries to move on from buck cuz he thinks buck doesn’t want more than sex so he puts an end to the benefits. starts dating ana shortly after and is forcing himself to act like it’s what he wants (so basically what happens in canon fjsk) and the song is from buck’s pov thinking eddie is actually in love with ana and he was just using buck for his body (which buck can’t fully be mad at cuz it’s what he signed up for—sidenote: shoutout to you signed up for this, also a collection of bangers)
idk just the whole body/insecurity theme made me think of buck and his complicated relationship to his body, seeking validation thru sex, sacrificing his body for others, etc…
thoughts?? are u seeing the vision or am I delusional? 💕
no bc she saw what she had to do and she did it
also oh my god ??? your brain is so big i'm so obsessed with this ?? also do i now absolutely 100000% need an au of this ?? if you wont write i will because i will. ohhh my god the pining potential is soooooo

OKAY. so, first: thank you so much i love you. Second! Lazarus! Here’s a thingy I made for him somewhere else ^^
Character’s full name: Lazarus
Reason or meaning of name: Stole it from Lazarus (of the bible) who was a jesus type and died 4 like 3 days b4 jesus came n got him.
Character’s nickname(s): Laz, The Monster (as like. A title)
Birth date: I honestly didn’t think abt it cos it made my brain hurt
Gender: he/they dude! He’s fine w/ it/its but not 4 gender reasons.
Music for the mood: creature - half-alive, the nowhere king frm centaurworld, me and my husband - mitski
Basic rundown is he was made at a time where belos rlly wanted his curse *gone*, and had been researching ways to get rid of it. He came across that thing (the thing eda and Lilith did) to share the curse, and he’s like. Might as well try it. So he creates lazarus, and laz is a pretty loyal guy, like. Belos raises him w/ traits of selflessness and obedience, and ofc plays up the curse so when he finally tells him to do the curse sharey thing, Laz is all for it. It works well! Fortunately for belos and unfortunately for Laz. Laz is suffering, he nearly dies but the curse doesn’t let him, despite the fact that belos refuses to share palismen, and when he does (which is once) laz refuses for morality reasons. This is how he realizes “oh shit i was only made to die wasn’t i”, confronts belos, belos tries to kill him. But Lazarus is goopy. And we all know that belos being goopy means he’s still alive. And uhhh yeah he nearly dies, makes it out narrowly, and he lives in the woods on the isles, fuckin belos shit up, and experiencing a weird love-hate relationship w/ the bat queen and the locals!
Another thing that contributes to that is when he finds a scout afraid after they didn't do too well in training, and he decides to help, and he ends up having a mentor- like relationship w/ them-and one day they see his face. And at this point he's already got the rot creeping up his face, and. And they look terrified. They ask what happened. And he. He realizes. He scares them. He says it's okay, nothing's wrong- and even when they return to 'normal' he can't help but notice the glances they cast at the right side of his face, at the growing pink glow behind the mask he never takes off anvmore. <- He's so nice to the scouts bc he went thru it too. But younger. With higher expectations. And he doesn't quite get that not everyone has to deal w/ that. So he's just. Yeah. He mother hens them be he doesn't quite understand that many of them are the age he is now rather than the age he was. And they don't know he's their age physically. Like. Based on actual years he's like fuckin. He's like 5 or 6. And so basically that stress and emotional abandonment coupled with his experiences with the Curse and Belos leads to the Confrontation.
Palisman: His palisman is a jackalope named buck <333
On the topic of backstory n shit! I think that he’d have a frenemy relationship w/ Lorelei, in which she sees that he was also a victim but still resents him for her husband’s death, so its a very fragile relationship, mostly transactional in the beginning. Alas, she is a compassionate person, and over time they become…. Friends? Its an odd thing really. Also! Eda and Laz have a tentative friendship based on shitty curses and learning to deal with them. Laz helps protect the Owl House when he can, befriends Hooty (he finds Hooty So Interesting), and Eda takes the fall sometimes when Laz makes an oopsie. Also teaches him magic sometimes. ALSO. on the Eda x Laz thing, he’s around before Eda, but he ages slower and spends a lot of time regenerating after. Events. So yeah. He also ends up being the Fun Uncle of the HexSquad! Sad but funny thing is that Laz is so used to being called mean things that he hears Any Derogatory Term and his ears twitch like heh? Me? Poor guy. He does get a happy ending though! He is forever changed but he gets better.
Really wanna write smth for him at sm point -.- ANYWAY yeah that’s Laz!!! Sorry this is so long ahdgshdhddh. Here! Are some images (couldn’t find others i didnt feel like scrolling forever sorry <333)

Update #7
It’s our 5th day at the ICU.
The big blessing is that Mom’s awake. She woke up the dawn after she was intubated and admitted in the ICU. She was a bit confused at first as to why she lost her voice, among other discomforts that come with intubation and NGT.
Another blessing is that she’s being given the medical attention that she needs here. Her 6 doctors are able to check on her, together with the ICU staff. Recently, an Infectious Disease specialist was onboarded because of Mom’s recurrent Pneumonia and to manage the strong antibiotics she received in the past 4-5 months. We just found out that she is actually suffering from Sepsis and she’s taking aggressive medication for it. We’re pushed against the wall and are doing the best we could.
Tumblr media
When awake, Mom is able to communicate thru writing or using the iPad. During the daytime, I stay with her at the ICU. It’s a blessing that the Head Nurse allowed my Mom to have a watcher 24/7 because she could also get agitated sometimes. At nighttime, the caregiver comes to take care of Mom, while I go to take a quick shower, a short nap at the nearby hostel and come back to wait outside the ICU where Mom can see me thru a mirror.
Tumblr media
Mom wrote this in the paper around 2AM when she couldn’t find me. (Translation for non-Bisaya speakers: “Yana! Where are you?”)The caregiver called me immediately and I arrived in like 7 mins after. She doesn’t like me gone for too long and that’s why I haven’t gone home since. 🙃
Tumblr media
Visiting friends and family could see Mom thru the mirror as well. We usually call them if Mom is awake or if they want to say something to her. Only myself and the caretaker usually comes inside. We usually get food packs daily still from our Iligan community brothers and sisters (The Light of the World), everyday, three times a day, sending us delicious food we are so grateful for! A helper keeps me company at night and is able to buy the meds in the morning, and generous friends and family come by in the afternoon. We do get by with help from our friends!! Thank you so much!
Tumblr media
As of the moment, she is still in need of the intubation as a support for her breathing. At the ventilator’s max capacity, she still has labored breathing. Her Blood Pressure also still drops a bit lower than normal once her IV medication is over. But is doing a tad better. It looks like we’ll need to stay here a bit more until she drastically improves. As ever, she’s obedient and cooperative when she’s not agitated but also she expressed that she’s tired.
There’s so much to do and think of by the day but even more so much grace as well.
We don’t know what tomorrow holds but today Mama Minnie still fights, and we will too! ❤️

Ramo flat out refusing to believe his Sibel is dead and demanding a DNA test!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part of it is intuition and part of it is he simply cannot believe in a world without he. I did cheer when he went for the orderly’s throat. Ramo sees thru you, dude!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a caged beast...
Tumblr media
His brother brings DNA test that shows it’s Sibel and Ramo’s response is basically fuck it, it’s not her. GUUUUH
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s basically lost his mind screaming it’s not her and punching the wall. Man!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I swear it’s like coming down from a panic attack for him...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So much blood is gonna be spilled...
Tumblr media
When he gets out, he’s all “I am not going to the funeral, I have something more important” and part of it is his wild hope she’s still alive and a way to find her but part is total inability to be around the burial because it means admittance
Tumblr media
When he hallucinates her...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He finds the orderly who was the actual hitman and starts beating the shit outof him for information and the man is “she suffered and pleaded.” Dude, that car hitting you during your attempted your escape was the luckiest thing that happened to you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s accepted she’s dead...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is not a look of a man who will grieve quietly.
Tumblr media
He shows up to her grave telling her “don’t you dare to forgive me, I failed to protect you” and “save me a place underground, I will come to you soon and put a blanket under us.” Get you a man who loves you the way Ramo loves Sibel (minus all the illegal activities, of course.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile Sibel is alive - her fake death is both a test for Ramo from the senior psychos (they want to break him and to either execute him for betraying them or turn him into someone so broken and obedient he will move on past the death of his woman and serve them) and a treat to Mahsar (that is why she’s alive not just killed - he wants to torture her for Taner’s death.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then she calms down, caresses the empty place on her finger where Ramo’s ring used to be and comes up with a plan...

Live Report: CROWBAR -Show on October 4th at The Cobra in East Nashville, Tennessee
Report and Photos by Erik Hernandez When CROWBAR first hit the metal scene in 1991 with their debut, Obedience thru Suffering, the metal world was going through significant change. The arrival of grunge had been eating away like a cancer in genres both Metal and the L.A. scene dubbed “Hair Band”. It seemed that all things Metal would disappear. Fast forward 22 years and CROWBAR are still touring…

To those with eyes that see and ears that hear, see and hear;
Isaiah 42:9 KJV 9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
If you would but allow me just a few moments of your time, I will reveal to you some truth.
- If we look back to Exodus 1:13-14, we will see that the Isrealites are in bondage to Egypt.
Just as we wereto sin:
Romans 6:6-7 KJV 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
John 8:31-34 KJV 31 Then said Yeshua to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Yeshua answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
- Then in Exodus 2:23, The Isrealites cry comes up to God.
As did ours:
Romans 10:13 KJV 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
- And in Exodus 6:5-6 God responds and promises to get them out of bondage.
Just as He promises us:
2 Peter 3:9 KJV 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- then in Exodus 13:3, God brings the Isrealites out of bondage.
Just as He did for us:
Galatians 3:14 KJV 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Yeshua the Messiah; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Romans 6:16-17 KJV 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
1 Corinthians 15:3 KJV 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures;
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
- After that, in Exodus 14:19-31, God brings the Isrealites through the waters of the red sea.
Just as we are to be baptized after we believe, just as the "New" testament practiced:
Mark 16:16 KJV 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Matthew 3:13-15 KJV 13 Then cometh Yeshua from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Yeshua answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
John 3:5 KJV 5 Yeshua answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
- then in Exodus 20:2, God gives the Isrealites the Commandments and the laws, and they are commanded to obey them and agree to be obedient.
Just as we too are given and agree to:
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Corinthians 2:9 KJV 9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
- and after that in Exodus 32 thru Deuteronomy 34, God through Moses leads the Isrealites to the promised land as He teaches them and proves them, He refuses and casts away those who do not believe and keep the commandments and laws.
Just as He does with us:
Hebrews 3 KJV 3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Yeshua; 2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honor than the house. 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. 5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 6 But the Messiah as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. 7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of the Messiah, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness. 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
- bringing us to Deuteronomy 3:28, 31:23, where Joshua continues what God started with Moses and leads the Isrealites into the promised land.
Just as the Messiah does for us ( by the way, if you did not know this, the name of the Messiah as He walked the earth is Yeshua, and Yeshua interpreted into English, is Joshua, imagine that )
Titus 1:2 KJV In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
So it was Moses with the Commandments and the law that got the Isrealites to Joshua, who led them into the promised land, just as Joshua the Messiah leads us into the promise of Salvation, and it is the commandments and the law that lead us to Him.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Yeshua the Messiah our Lord.
*** know this truth*** when that which was written in the "New" testament was written, there was no "New" testament, only the law and the prophets, so when it references the scriptures in the "New" Testament, it is referring to the "Old" Testament.
And how about this, the Red Sea, blood is red, Revelation 1:5 And from Yeshua the Messiah, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
And check this out: 1 Corinthians 10:1-12 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was the Messiah.
- Sccrrratch, what did that say? It said that the Spiritual Rock that the Isrealites drank from in the days of Moses was the Messiah, that's what it said, let's continue,
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 Neither let us tempt the Messiah, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
"...lest he fall", that does not sound like once saved always saved to me.
- And know this, that after they entered the Promised land, they still had to keep the law:
Joshua 8:35 KJV 35 There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.
As do we:
Romans 2:14 KJV For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Romans 3:31 KJV Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
When they begin to try and discredit this which i have showed you, remember this truth, Scripture does not void scripture, and all scriptures must be reckoned together to know the truth, and i showed you scriptures.
God showed the way of Salvation through the Isrealites long before the Messiah came, further proving that He is God, and reinforcing the truth. He chose the Isrealites as an example and used them to reveal Himself to the world, therefore if one wants to know God and His character, one must know the "Old" testament.
By the way, The Messiah, Yeshua, came in the flesh.
There, I showed you what I know, is that not God's way of Salvation?
It is.
How great is Our God, praise the Lord on high, Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.

Philippians 2:12-13  |  ¹² Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear & trembling. ¹³ For it is GOD who works in you to will & to act on behalf of HIS good purpose.
Charles John Ellicott, Theologian [1749-1905] | Philippians 2:12-30
5. Exhortation & Commendation
[1] EXHORTATION TO WORK OUT THEIR SALVATION       through the in working of GOD, & so to be lights       in the world, & the glory of the Apostle, even in       the hour of martyrdom [v.12-18]
[2] PAUL’S INTENTION TO SEND TIMOTHY, AND HOPE       TO COME HIMSELF SHORTLY [v.19-24]
[3] PRESENT MISSION OF EPAPHRODITUS, now       recovered from his late sickness, & strong       commendation of his zeal [v.25-30]
[12-18] By the word “wherefore” Paul connects       this exhortation with the great passage above.
For the main idea is here of the presence of GOD in them, working glory thru a condition of humiliation, on condition of their fellow-working with HIM; so they shall appear as the “sons of GOD” & as “lights in the world.”
In all this there is clearly the imperfect but true like -ness of the indwelling of GODhead in our LORD’s humanity, exalting it thru the two-fold humiliation to the unspeakable glory.
[12] As ye have always obeyed—It is notable this        Epistle is the only one which contains no direct        rebuke.
The Philippian Church has the glory of having “always obeyed,” not [like Galatian Church] “as in HIS presence only, but now much more in HIS absence.”
This “obedience” was to the will of GOD as set forth by HIM; in referring to it, there is an allusion to the “obedience” of CHRIST [v.8]; hence their obedience includes also that willingness to suffer which HE HIMSELF has shown.
[Philippians 1:29-30]
To this, perhaps, there is a further allusion in the “fear & trembling” spoken of below.
[See 2 Corinthians 7:15; Ephesians 6:5]
Work out your own salvation—To “work out” is to carry out to completion what is begun [per Ephesians 6:13]
This is the function of man, as fellow-worker with GOD first in HIS OWN soul, & then among HIS brethren.
GOD is the “beginner & perfecter” of every “good work” [see Philippians 1:6]; man’s co-operation is secondary & intermediate.

i am a ship taking on water
when i hear his name i burrow between my own
eyes like a rabbit. or a bullet. i shiver and shake
the shape of him lies like a snow angel
there, right there, in my organs
i dont remember what his voice sounds like
and when i try my bones turn to jello
and i die. and i die. and i die.
and i die. and i die.
this is my greatest secret:
i had to talk him out of letting me go
shaking against the dashboard, my head
hurting and my hair falling out,
the bruises around my eyes plum dark and sensitive when i blinked, he told me
he couldnt do it anymore
and that the stress was killing him. he told me
he wanted to drop me off at a police station
and asked me not to tell anyone.
the cogs in my head stopped and started
and malfunctioned. and rusted.
it stopped beating and went into hibernation.
i said no. i said no. i said no,
i said no, i said no, and i meant it.
the thought of a life without him terrified me
who would tell me when i was wrong?
who would grip my face and spit in my eyes,
who would let me be so holy as to suffer so?
who would fill me with the unholy and let me purge it?
who would stare thru the bars of my cage and feed me?
who would hurt me enough to be so close to angelic,
so close to empty, so close to dead?
who would hit me so hard i saw stars and make me thank them?
make me name them, make me build constellations,
who would rename me, build me from the ground,
fill me with these traitorous thoughts and
let me loose? why did you want to let me loose?
who else would make me a martyr, who else
would kill me?
who else would i belong to?
why didnt you kill me?
curled around myself like ribbon. i sat there
and i sat there.
and i sat there.
and i sat there
and i sat there
and i sat there
and i said no. and i meant it.
the sound of my own shame rattles like the chains he kept me in.
the fear of the outside world still grips me.
stockholm is kind of like having a elephant on your shoulder, perched like a bird.
the weight of it is pregnant and hungry.
i cant go to the park without hoping you'll be there
sitting on the bench with your hands between your thighs,
waiting for me to come waste myself away on you.
waiting for me to trip over pleasing you, place my hands out in prayer,
waiting for me to kneel in obedience and
give to you what you told me belonged to you
am i even allowed to belong to myself?
is there even a creature that exists as myself?
i am pottery thrown facefirst into the kiln
i am caved in and collapsed and cracked and
how can i be whole without someone to hurt me like that?
what kind of holiness am i able to attain, now?
why do i deserve smthn that the child in me
never got to see? i grew up like this. i know nothing else
emptiness is next to godliness and
god knows theres nothing truly inside me
without his fist stuffed down my throat
the stuffed animal i hold every night misses him.
the world ive built myself holds his ghost in every corner and
in every cabinet and behind every door
and on every street corner and every shadow. i dont
know how to exorcize something that hasnt been here
for half a decade. its only someone
who doesn't know how to move on. only someone
who cant let go of something so painful
because pain is the only thing i can still feel. only someone
who will always want the ache of devotion like that,
wet and messy and glossy and bloody and gritty
his teeth between my ribs and his fingers digging into my eye sockets.
why am i allowed to be a person now? i was supposed to be an angel.
i was supposed to be dead 6 years ago and im only on borrowed time.

EYEHATEGOD TAKE AS NEEDED FOR PAIN INSERT SERIES
“Will That Never Dies” drops things down for another soulful journey through the murk, mainman Kirk Windstein doing everything he does so well: mountain-crushing riffs, vocals pulled from the depths of despair, a love of rockin’ out hidden underneath it all. This song is memorable, moving, and crushes like a ton of bricks. When the breakdown drops at 1:53, forget it. I mean, check out ultra-classic “All I Had (I Gave)”: it’s uncharacteristically speedy but sacrifices little of the massive Crowbar power, and when things get slower in the chorus, it’s huge. But this album is.Īnd while this band has had several stellar lineups, it’s hard to find any fault with this one, these four guys absolutely locked in to each other here, musically and, if I may, vibe-wise. And that’s what Crowbar do best, and while their debut album-1991’s Obedience Thru Suffering-was massive and impressive, it wasn’t quite the actualization of what Crowbar was capable of. The opening riffs of lead cut and Crowbar classic “High Rate Extinction” set the mood right away here, the band managing to be outrageously heavy while also hitting all the feels. It’s not uncommon for a band to really develop their sound fully on their second record (buy me a beer and I can talk about this happening at length in the hair-metal scene), and that’s exactly what happened with Crowbar‘s self-titled record and Eyehategod‘s Take as Needed for Pain.īut which one is the ultimate early-NOLA sludge masterpiece? Find out in today’s misery-loving, feedback-drenched, swamp-dwelling sludge edition of Fight Fire With Fire. They’re both massive statements of intent that laid down the groundwork for what the groups would do over the ensuing decades. Both are from NOLA sludge legends, both are the bands’ second records, both are from 1993, both are when the band in question really came into their own. It wasn’t until I was pitching this to my editor that I really connected the dots between these two albums. Plus, we love these sorts of exercises, and also love watching you battle each other to the death in the comments, so how could this possibly end poorly? Yes, these albums are the best of the best.
