Unquestionably, the Kumana National Park is an ornithologist's paradise. It is one of the best bird sanctuaries in the nation and is located on the southeast coast of the country, 391 kilometers from Colombo. Kumana and Yala National Park are adjacent. Yala East National Park was once known as Kumana until it adopted its current name on September 5, 2006. The largest bird refuge in Sri Lanka is the reputed Kumana Wildlife Sanctuary. The Kudumbigala sanctuary serves as the park's entry, and it is reachable through Beragala and Koslanda as well as the Uduwalawe - Tanamalvilla road.

Introducing The Budapest Gorilla Troop by SloggerVlogger Today starts a new series and I'm back to the Budapest Gorilla troop for some up-to-date footage. This is a quick video, an introduction as I wanted to update my previous introduction. Also, I've done a #shorts video of the gorilla family. The group consists of five gorillas. Silverback Golo was born at the Zoologisch-botanischer Garten Wilhelma, near Stuttgard Germany. He was born on the 27th of September 1980 and stayed until the 7th of April 1981 when he moved to Zoo Zürich. He's been at the Budapest Zoo since the 2nd of May 1989. He has four offspring, but only his daughter Indigo is still with him. Female Gorilla Liesel was born on the 15th of April 1977 making it the oldest gorilla in the troop. She was born in Zoo Frankfurt and stayed there until her move to Budapest on the 20th of April 1989. Her offspring are Dango, Gorka and Ebobo. Female Gorilla Iringa also from Germany was born at the Münchener Tierpark Hellabrunn on the 31st of January 1998. From there she was moved to Zoologisch-botanischer Garten Wilhelma on the 3rd of April 2002. On the 3rd of April 2002, she was moved to Zoo de la Boissiere du Doré and to Budapest Zoo on the 14th of April 2003. You might remember her mother from the Munich footage I filmed in 2020. She's called Neema and kept the blackbacks in check, including Ozala's and Oumbie's son Okanda. You can catch up with them here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXC1aShJSBiViApL3h3GqE3i1nmX62v5t Iringa hasn't got any offspring, but she's always playing with Indigo. She also loves sitting by the window watching the people. Something most Gorillas don't do. Female gorilla N'yaounda the mum of Indigo was born on the 5th of February 2001 at Burgers' Zoo in the Netherlands. She was moved to Budapest Zoo on the 31st of October 2008. Her offspring are Bongo and Indigó. Female Gorilla Indigó, daughter of N'yaounda was born at the Budapest Zoo on the 23rd of December 2017. You will also find the footage of her here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXC1aShJSBiWXPrMcLLaEsHmfA_RCHZ-f via YouTube https://youtu.be/kYaxFTdXR8s

Africa
Unusual request, but I’m looking for anyone who has first-hand info on
Kruger National Park, South Africa
Lopé-Okanda Park in Gabon
Amboseli National Park in Kenya
This is for a school project for my daughter. Of course, any info from citizens of those nations who live near or are connected to the parks would be the most useful. She is researching the founding of the parks, but current-day info is also helpful. Pointing us to any English-language news articles about them might also help.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to contribute OR REBLOG.

Arugam Bay in Sri lanka
Arugam Bay sometimes referred to as "Arugam Kudah" locally, is a historic hamlet of the former Batticaloa Territory and is located on the Indian Ocean in the dry zone of Sri Lanka's southeast coast (Mattakallappu Desam). The bay is around 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) south of the market town of Pottuvil and 117 kilometers (73 km) south of Batticaloa. It is also 320 kilometers (200 mi) due east of Colombo. The area's primary community, Ullae, is primarily Muslim[1], but to the south of the village, there are sizable Sri Lankan Tamil and Sinhala populations as well as a handful of foreign ex-pats, mainly from Europe and Australia. Although historically fishing has been the main industry in the region, tourism has developed significantly in recent years. Bay of Cynodon dactylon is the exact Tamil translation of Arugam Kudah. Several good surf breaks make Arugam Bay a popular destination for surfers, but the area's beaches, lagoons, historic temples, and adjacent Kumana National Park all draw visitors.
The ideal time of year to visit Arugam Bay is often from April to October. The beach extends for about 400 meters and is roughly 6 feet wide. Crocodile Rock, Panama, Okanda, and Whiskey Point are some of its points. This season's waves are well-known worldwide. Evenings are spent having parties. The weather is still fantastic outside of this season, but there are no waves and no parties. You should go whenever you like. Shops and restaurants are open from February through October.

Gorilla Lope, Asante and Oumbi's Enrichment Exploration by SloggerVlogger *Lope comes charging down the slope and beats his chest at Asante.* He quickly turns around though and leaves his aunt in peace to get some breakfast. Asante gets some as well and even has a peaceful snack next to the rascal Lope. He looks so big there next to her. His chest is really developing. Look at Lope's eyes as he throws a quick glance at her. When Lope makes a move, Asante thinks he's about to have a go at her, but nope Lope just moved and Asante got back to eating, while Lope is looking through the gap of the hut. The gaps in made some interesting interactions between the gorillas. Who could forget the time when he was annoying his dad, still one of the most watched videos ( https://youtu.be/ISKysW2XYac). A bit later Asante is on top of the climbing frame pouting her lips. She does love to be higher up, it seems to make her feel safe and she can watch what's going on down beneath her, but all is quiet there. Biddy eating in front of her, and Ozala is at the far end. At lunch, they get some enrichment. Wooden disks with what I believe are oats in between them. Gorilla Lope is approaching and gets to it straight away, but he can't quite figure out how to get to the oat easily. He's hitting the disk and then biting hard on it. He can obviously smell it. They did have these before a few times, so you'll think he knows by now what to do, but he hasn't got much patience. His younger brother Shufai is on the platform with another wooden disk enrichment, swinging it around. He also got himself an aubergine (eggplant), which they love a hell of a lot more than red cabbage lol. Down below Lope got himself an aubergine as well and while he's eating it he hits the disks against the pole. Silverback Oumbi is eating his aubergine and then has a go at the discs himself, using his finger to get some spilt-over oats sticking on the outside. Shufai came down from the platform when Ozala, his mum climbs up to take his place. Oumbi turns the disc around some more. Ozala had gone from the platform when Shufai and Asante took her place, sitting together and both having a look at the discs to see if there is anything left. Don't forget to subscribe and hit that notification bell for more! #Gorillas #gorillalope The current gorilla family at Twycross consists of 6 members, which are Oumbi, Ozala, Biddy, Asante, Lope and Shufai Oumbi ( 30 June 1992) Sons : Okanda 17 Apr 2011 born at Twycross Zoo, Hand raised and now at München Hellabrunn Germany. ( Videos of the family in Munich: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXC1aShJSBiViApL3h3GqE3i1nmX62v5t) Lope ( 3rd Jan 2013) and Shufai (24th Sep 2016) were both born at Twycross Zoo in England and they are still at the Zoo. Ozala (19 Mar 1994), had four sons and one daughter. Ozala's first mate was Ti. Ozala and Ti had Matadi on the 25th of May 2003 at Twycross Zoo. Then they had their daughter Ndoki on the 3rd of May 2007, but she sadly died on the 29th Aug 2007, unknown cause. Matadi is at the Antwerp Zoo in Belgium with his mate Mayani and they had a baby girl called Thandie. ( Don't miss the footage from Antwerp on this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXC1aShJSBiWoP6Dq9WJ9iSyKrLU2C89_) Matadi had another baby girl in June 2020 this time with Mambele and she's called Vizazi. Ti died in 26 Feb 2007, the cause of it was a stroke. Oumbi got moved to Twycross Zoo in 2009 to mate with the females. Ozala was Oumbi chosen mate. Asante (6th Jun 1985) is Ozalas half-sister. She hasn’t got any offspring. Biddy is Ozala's Mum as she was born in the wild in 1973, there is no record of siblings or parents. Her offspring are Mambie and Ozala. via YouTube https://youtu.be/6xDueXaO5oU
