❝ “That,” she says carefully, stealing a peck, “is a very good point.” “I make those quite often, you know.” “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves there,” she teases, but the tone isn’t quite right, there’s too much of the affection she feels seeping into it. Behind her, the vibrating sound dies out with the call going unanswered. “Anyway. Whatever she wanted, I think there’s a better alternative way of spending my time.” He gets a ridiculously pleased look on his face at that. “Dear me,” he tuts, grin wide and bright and open, “I wonder what that might be.” Caroline curves a brow. “Breakfast, of course.” “You must think you’re so funny,” Klaus drawls, pulling her closer. “Hilarious,” Caroline assures him, and pecks his lips. ❞

NDA Written + SSB: How to Balance Your Preparation Effectively
Preparing for the NDA (National Defence Academy) examination is one of the most ambitious goals for young aspirants who dream of serving the nation as officers in the Indian Armed Forces. However, the challenge does not end with clearing the NDA written exam — the SSB interview, which follows, is equally crucial and requires dedicated and strategic preparation.
For aspirants aiming for success in both the NDA written exam and the SSB interview, striking the right balance between the two is essential. While both stages test different skills, preparing for them in harmony ensures you’re not just exam-ready, but officer-ready.
In this blog by Centurion Defence Academy — India’s best NDA coaching institute — we’ll discuss a comprehensive roadmap to help you balance NDA Written + SSB preparation effectively, boosting your chances of success in the first attempt.
Understanding the Two-Stage Process
Before we dive into the strategies, it’s important to understand the key differences between the NDA Written Exam and the SSB Interview.
1. NDA Written Exam
Conducted by: UPSC
Mode: Offline (pen and paper)
Subjects: Mathematics (300 marks) and GAT – General Ability Test (600 marks)
Duration: 2.5 hours for each paper
Focus Areas: Academic knowledge, problem-solving skills, English, current affairs, science, history, geography, and general mental ability.
2. SSB Interview
Duration: 5 Days
Conducted by: Services Selection Board
Stages:
Screening (Day 1)
Psychological Tests (Day 2)
GTO Tasks (Days 3-4)
Personal Interview
Conference (Day 5)
Focus Areas: Personality, leadership qualities, officer-like qualities (OLQs), psychology, communication, team spirit, confidence, problem-solving.
Key Takeaway: The NDA Written exam tests academic and mental aptitude, while the SSB evaluates your personality, attitude, and leadership potential.
Why Balancing Both is Important
Many aspirants make the mistake of focusing entirely on either the written exam or the SSB. However, this imbalance can cost you the final selection.
If you crack the written exam but are unprepared for SSB, you lose the opportunity.
If you focus only on SSB and fail the written exam, you don’t even get to the interview.
Hence, a balanced preparation strategy increases your chances of securing a final recommendation.
Phase-wise Balanced Preparation Strategy
Phase 1: Foundation Stage (8–12 Months Before Exam)
Focus Areas:
Strengthen your core academics — especially Mathematics and GAT.
Build general awareness and current affairs knowledge.
Start developing communication skills and basic personality grooming.
Action Plan:
Daily Study Routine: Dedicate 3–4 hours to written subjects (Maths, English, Science, GK).
SSB Foundation: Read newspapers, speak in English, join group discussions.
Join an Integrated Program: Enroll in a coaching institute like Centurion Defence Academy, where written + SSB training is provided together.
Psychological Preparation: Begin self-awareness exercises, writing stories (like TAT), and observing your behavior patterns.
Phase 2: Intermediate Stage (5–7 Months Before Exam)
Focus Areas:
Master written exam syllabus and mock test practice.
Begin structured preparation for SSB.
Attend mentorship programs and work on OLQs.
Action Plan:
Test Series & Revision: Take weekly mock tests for NDA Maths and GAT.
SSB Preparation Classes: Attend SSB training sessions regularly. Work on WAT, TAT, SRTs.
Join GTO Practice Sessions: Centurion’s SSB ground training helps you get real-time exposure to GTO tasks.
Develop Confidence: Practice public speaking, narrating stories, and giving PPDT explanations in groups.
Phase 3: Final Stage (1–3 Months Before Exam)
Focus Areas:
Intensive revision and exam strategy for NDA written.
Simultaneous readiness for immediate SSB call after results.
Action Plan:
Revision Plan: Solve previous year papers, improve time management, focus on weak areas.
Interview Prep: Work on your PIQ form details, background knowledge, and mock interviews.
Mental Conditioning: Practice meditation, physical fitness, and time-bound psychological tests.
Centurion’s NDA Mock Interview Panel: Take real interview simulations to boost confidence.
Daily Time Management Plan (Sample)
6:00 AM – 7:00 AM Engage in physical training and fitness exercises to improve stamina, discipline, and endurance.
7:00 AM – 8:00 AM Have a healthy breakfast and read the newspaper to stay updated on current affairs and improve reading habits.
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM Focus on NDA written exam subjects such as Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Practice SSB psychology tests including WAT (Word Association Test), TAT (Thematic Apperception Test), PPDT (Picture Perception and Discussion Test), and SRT (Situation Reaction Test).
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Take a lunch break and rest to refresh your mind and body.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Revise important topics and attempt mock tests to build speed and accuracy for the written exam.
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Participate in personality development activities like group discussions, lecturette practice, and public speaking.
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Perform GTO (Group Testing Officer) tasks or engage in outdoor team-based physical activities.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Review the day’s progress, self-assess, and take feedback from mentors to improve.
After 7:00 PM Do light reading or relaxing activities, have dinner, and sleep early to ensure proper rest and mental recovery.
Tips for Maintaining Balance in Preparation
1. Avoid Over-Specialization
Don’t focus solely on the written exam or SSB. Both are equally important. Keep a parallel focus.
2. Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Identify where you lag — whether it’s written skills or personality traits. Work smartly to improve them.
3. Take Guidance from Experts
Enroll in a comprehensive coaching program like Centurion Defence Academy, where expert mentors provide both written and SSB guidance under one roof.
4. Don’t Wait for Results to Start SSB Prep
Begin your SSB preparation along with your NDA written exam. Don’t wait till you clear the written test — that’s too late.
5. Stay Consistent
Balanced preparation isn’t about doing everything in one day. It’s about consistency over weeks and months.

1. Name, Year, Major, and Hometown
Alyssa Contreras, 4th year Sustainable Environment Design Major Hometown: Hayward, CA
2. What’s your roman empire?
My roman empire is that all major cities in California rank within the top 10 of major cities in the U.S. with the most car-dependent infrastructure 🧍‍♂️ I jus wanna be a walking city girl 😿
3. What is the best compliment you have ever received?
One of my mentors in life once told me that I have a good way of comforting people because I can usually empathize with others while still respecting differences in judgment and opinion. Made me feel kinda smart ig
4. If your life was a movie what genre would it be (comedy, horror, drama, etc.) and what actor would play you?
If my life were a movie, it would be a combination of all the genres listed; the comedy aspect would come from the unreasonable amount of confidence I (as the main character) have. The drama scenes would revolve around getting prosecuted in court for “accidentally” stealing from Target, and the horror aspect would come from the feelings of anxiety one would get while watching this movie because of how awful it ends up being 😇
5. What is something on your college bucket list?
I would like to be able to go into a bar and not have to pay for a drink the entire night cause that'd be kinda slay. But I guess if It were something within my own control it would be to make 4 packets of Jin ramen at once, one for all my besties :-)
6. What’s your guilty pleasure? (song, movie, food etc.)
My guilty pleasure is the strawberry guava celsius or spicy jin ramen with soft-boiled egg, kimchi & soft tofu.
7. What are your bad habits?
I usually have pretty strong opinions, so to avoid getting myself in trouble in any given situation, I usually just walk away. srrynotsrry
8. What are your favorite song lyrics?
"DJ, turn me up, ladies, this your jam (Come on) I'ma sip Moscato, and you gon' lose them pants (Ooh) Then I'ma throw this money while you do it with no hands (L'eggo) Girl, drop it to the floor (Yeah) I love the way your booty go "
9. Defend your unpopular opinion/ hot take
10. Describe a time where you had to step up and be a leader?
Y'all gon have me in here writing some responses like my PIQs for my college application
With the values of community inclusivity and a personal desire to build character, I find that whenever I enter a new place, I am immediately drawn to analyze the way systems of a community group work and how it serves its people.
A time in my life that I feel was best reflected during my involvement in UC Davis’ Housing and Urbanism Program in Spain. I worked with a team of five other students to analyze the Urban Landscape and Housing typologies of the PobleNou area of Barcelona we spent 8 weeks evaluating the developing area and engaging with various community members and stakeholders currently involved in the development. We were asked to step up and be leaders using our educational background to get current community members of the PobleNou area more involved in Civic Engagement.
Facing the challenge of encouraging community members to voice their opinions on the impact of the development, I employed a creative approach rooted in my love for music. Though not conventional, I initiated a collaborative Spotify playlist for the neighborhood. Participants were invited to add songs accompanied by personal stories linking the music to memories of their time in PobleNou. Surpassing my expectations, the playlist sparked meaningful engagement, offering fresh insights through the lens of music.
As diverse perspectives emerged from the residents, I gained an understanding of how the development affected community members and their families. Using this unconventional tool of a curated playlist, I sought to recreate the emotional essence of moments spent in these locations by tourists and residents. Through the power of music, a vivid image began to take shape, highlighting various underrepresented aspects of the Poble Nou neighborhood. This experience showed me how the potential for unconventional yet welcoming approaches to leadership often yields profound insights and fosters meaningful connections within a community. With this casual yet meaningful connection made, community members allowed their reflections to drive them to become increasingly involved in helping developers with the goal of reclamation works in this industrial area of the city.
Goodbye I cannot believe I explained this elaborate story to y'all, if you have read this far, know that my willingness to write this out came from 1. I had copy-pasted most of it from another doc 2. It was something I was really passionate abt and had fun doing so I would talk abt it a million times 3. ma xpressions was already late anyway...

7 Tips for Answering the University of California (UC) Personal Insight Questions (PIQs)
Tumblr media
The University of California (UC) campuses receive more than 221,000 undergraduate applications. From all of those, they could admit only 71,000.
To make such tough decisions, the admissions staff will strive to get to know you, but since none of the UCs conduct student interviews and none accept letters of recommendation, your application will be the only way they get to “meet” you. As you can imagine, grades, test scores, and descriptions of activities and awards can only communicate so much about your dynamic, unique personality—so this is where your personal statement comes in.
To assess whether you will be a good fit for the university and excel once you get there, the admissions staff wants to know who you are: your interests, challenges, thoughts, perspectives, experiences. And they want to understand your background and life circumstances so that they can better interpret the rest of your application.
Through the UC Personal Insight Questions, you have the opportunity to fill them in. As the name suggests, these are not your typical “college essays.” You will be asked to choose four out of eight given prompts and respond to each in 350 words or fewer. The UCs are primarily looking to learn more information about you, so unlike many college essays, these questions are best answered in straightforward, rather than poetic or stylistic, prose.
The UC Personal Insight Questions
Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.
Every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how you express your creative side.
What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?
Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
Think about an academic subject that inspires you. Describe how you have furthered this interest inside and/or outside of the classroom.
What have you done to make your school or your community a better place?
Beyond what has already been shared in your application, what do you believe makes you stand out as a strong candidate for admissions to the University of California?
Tumblr media
📋 HOW TO APPROACH THE UC QUESTIONS
1. Read Through All 8 Prompts
Note any that stand out as topics you might want to write about, and jot down any ideas that come to mind.
2. Brainstorm
You have had innumerable experiences over the years, but perhaps have not spent much time reflecting on how they have affected you or what you have learned. So now’s the time to do some deeper-level thinking.
A good place to start is to write down all of your high school activities and awards. Think about what you’ve spent most of your time doing, what’s most important to you, and what you think someone who has never met you might want to hear more about.
Then try writing down five of each of the following:
Personality traits (e.g., optimistic, analytical, humorous)
Interests/passions/talents (e.g., soccer, painting, tutoring)
Values (ideas that are important to you, e.g., honesty, reliability, efficiency)
Objects (items that capture an essence of you, e.g., journal, necklace, green tea)
Challenges (most difficult times of your life)
Times you have felt really excited or lost track of time doing something
Experiences that have defined you or caused you to change
Attributes that make you overall great
From your list, choose three to five of the most important aspects of yourself, and write down specific stories, examples, or details that illustrate each one.
3. Write a Stream-of-Consciousness
Pick your favorite UC prompt and spend 15 minutes writing anything that comes to mind. IMPORTANT: It does not have to sound good. Feel free to write like a third-grader or even make no sense. If it’s easier, record yourself telling a story out loud and then transcribe. And definitely don’t worry about the word limit yet.
4. Choose Your Other Three UC Prompts
As you consider which topics to write about, make sure all four responses will fit together to showcase your character as a whole, without overlapping ideas. Be sure to include aspects of yourself that admissions officers would not learn about in other parts of your application. If you are applying to a professional college (such as the College of Engineering or Biological Sciences), somewhere in your writings discuss your intended field of study and any school or work-related experience you’ve had by answering prompt #6 about an academic subject that inspires you.
5. Structure Your Responses
As you edit your drafts, it often works well to tell a story. Offering a glimpse into your life, you in action, can be the most compelling and effective way to make an impression on your readers. You can recount a single experience or a narrative that spans a few years. Keep in mind that you want to focus on who you currently are, so mostly discuss examples from your high school years. You can certainly mention important events from your childhood but then explain how they’ve contributed to who you are today. For some prompts, tying together a series of examples may work better than one story. In all cases, the more specific details you can include, the better. You’re the only one who has lived your life, so add enough specifics to show them your unique way of interacting with the world.
6. Add Personal Insight
Each answer should also include some insight and reflection. Think about why what you are writing matters, to you and to others, and what you learned from each experience. Expressing uncommon ways of seeing things will help your individuality stand out among the other 200,000 or so applicants.
7. Revise and Proofread
As you read over your writing, consider the following questions that admissions officers are hoping to answer about you:
Who is this person?
Will this person contribute to our campus?
Will this person be successful at our school?
Can this person write ( with proper grammar and mechanics)?
And you will want to be able to answer “yes” to the following questions:
Do you sound like yourself?
Are you speaking genuinely?
Do you answer the prompt?
Despite all these guidelines, remember that there is not a “right” way to answer the UC Personal Insight Questions, per se. Above all, try to have fun and be yourself without judging your answers too much, and you’ll be good to go.

SSB Interview: Cracking the SSB Code, all you need to know - education
Tumblr media
The Indian armed forces are one of the most elite and premium military organizations in the world, promising a lively and extraordinary career path. It’s a boundless reservoir of meaningful opportunities, where the sky is indeed the limit.Proffering the most amazing and momentous vocational prospects to the vibrant and purposeful youth, joining the Armed Forces as a ranked officer mandates you to clear the SSB interview a compulsory phase which is held within a span of 5 days. It consists chiefly of two stages. The first stage comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR test) and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT). After clearing stage 1, the candidate appears in Stage 2. This stage is spread across a series of personality tests such as the MANSA (Psychology), VACHA (Personal Interview) and KARMNA (GTO). Acing these two rounds requires an optimum strategy and groundwork regarding the selection parameters and your personality orientation as potential defence personnel. Stage 1 The Day one of the SSB screening begins with the OIR test, i.e., the Officer Intelligence Rating test. The OIR value scale hovers between 1 and 5, which marks the candidate’s intelligence quotient before the selection committee. The candidates are advised to practice their verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills to improve their performance. The PP&DT comprises of story drafting, Individual narration within 1 minute and group discussion .The candidate, while drafting the story, should be careful in choosing a theme that is not only socially relevant and fruitful but also reflective of the protagonist’s problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, the richness of values and positive thinking. The group discussion round would require you to work on your oratory and listening skills to win the consensus of the group. Performing well in this round requires you to be well-articulate and maintain a calm demeanour with the appropriate facial expressions and the right body language.Scoring better in psychological testing: Essential Tips Using the scientific techniques of psychoanalytical and projective prognosis, a candidate’s personality and moralistic traits are ascertained by fielding them under highly stressful conditions of duress. The candidate’s cumulative response under the myriad of simulated scenarios warrants the selection board’s verdict report through various tests, namely TAT, WAT, SRT and SD.The primary objective of this round is to assess the candidate’s subconscious and unconscious state of mind to forge hobbies that usher creativity and fruitfulness while simultaneously also attaining valuable experience through extracurricular activities. It’s all about coming to terms with your strengths and weaknesses, failures and fears, and developing a valiant spirit in your everyday life. The candidate should also practise their writing speed to draft responses with the time-period. It is equally essential to widen your mental and storytelling skills under the prescribed structure. One should also practise their visual skills and highlight within themselves wherever there remains scope for further improvement. The participants are strictly briefed to refrain from providing bogus, pre-determined, and unconvincing ideas that lack in authenticity, as the SSB is full-proof and purely scientific testing method. Their response must project integrity, accountability, swift decision-making, leadership qualities, and their ability to be socially adaptable.Nailing the interview It is pertinent to prepare your introduction well in advance. Introduce yourself cheerfully with enthusiasm and positivity to create a nice rapport with the interviewer. Make sure you lend careful attention and focus on the rapid-fire round as they test your cognition, mental aptitude, endurance and poise. Be well-prepared as around 95% of the questions arise from the candidate’s PIQ. General awareness is considered a grey zone area. It is important to stay abreast of the current national and international affairs, defence knowhow and the latest trending issues and impacts. To add weight and give your candidature a beneficial edge, maintain optimal eye contact, an assuring seating position, an affirmative facial index, and effectual communicative skills. Be graceful enough to identify your shortcomings whenever required, as they can be easily dealt with proper training and conduct. All-Rounded alertness and aware disposition are as important as being passionate and well-spirited.How to be a team player in GTO?Your social adaptability and ability to adjust in any situation is the fundamental parameter that promotes approval from the selection board. It is important to mend and adjust your skills towards achieving the collective objectives of the group rather than focusing on the individual self-goals. Be ready to take an initiative stand and exhibit your ideas and critical faculty with implicit tact and sharpness. Avoid wasting time by staying ahead of your mind as it tends to get caught in neurotic thought loops. The quality that the armed forces desires and seeks the most in every candidate is the courage to stand in the face of adversity. Being resourceful and analytical of the risk quotient is reflective of the right decision-making abilities. It is important to inculcate the spirit of co-operation at every level in the armed forces, so make sure you come across as a well-rounded team player. Listening skills are of the utmost importance in the group discussion rounds as they give you a precious insight into the thought processes and understanding of those around you. This helps you in tackling every problem posed in the selection rounds with innate logic and creativity. Lastly, the importance of physical fitness and agility of being cannot be stressed enough. The selection board’s criteria seek candidates who are mentally, physically, emotionally and psychologically well-tuned. Equally pertinent is the weight that is allotted to the results of the IO, the GTO, and the psychology test. The strength and splendour of the selection system is quite evident from the fact that no amount of fake credentials or bogus attributes can get you past the selection screening. In a nutshell, despite the fact that the Indian armed forces suffer from a serious dearth of officers in its cadres, the selection procedure does not commit to even an inch of compromise. After all, as an Indian Army Officer, it is the matter of national security and the countless lives that are at stake. Pursue this path only if you are ready to rise and commit the self to an idea of eternal glory through service.(Author Shishir Dixit is Founder Director, Centurion Education. This study sought to determine the predictive influence of parental involvement on academic self confidence and academic engagement among junior secondary school students in Awka. Two research questions and two null hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance guided the study. The study adopted a correlational research design. The population comprised of 560 JS2 students in 5 co educational public schools in Awka from which a sample of 200 JS2 students were drawn to participate in the study. The instruments used for data collection were three, namely Parental Involvement Questionnaire PIQ , Academic Self Confidence Questionnaire ASCQ , both structured by the researchers and also Academic Engagement Questionnaire AEQ adopted from Hughes et. al's Academic Engagement Questionnaire. Both validity and reliability of the instruments were determined. After a test retest of the instruments, reliability coefficient of 0.70 was obtained for PIQ, 0.81 for AEQ and 0.72 for ASCQ using Cronbach Alpha method. Findings indicated that parental involvement has a high and positive relationship for both academic self confidence and academic engagement of junior secondary school students in Awka. Based on the findings, it was recommended that government and school authorities should take advantage of the media and other enlightenment programmes to educate parents on the importance of getting involved in their children's academic lives. Parents also should make out quality time for their ward's learning activities and through motivation boost their academic self confidence.

All The Shops You’ll Find at Hudson Yards, New York’s Newest Neighbourhood
The Hudson Yards, a $25 billion real estate development populating the westernmost stretch of Manhattan, is now open to the public. Located in region once so barren it was nicknamed Death Avenue (thanks to the frequency of which pedestrians were hit by oncoming trains), Hudson Yards stands to assume the position of New York’s newest neighbourhood. Though it contains five office towers, 4,000 residential units and the tallest outdoor observation deck in the Western hemisphere that’s likely to rival the High Line in terms of tourist attractions, the biggest draw to visit Hudson Yards is without a doubt, the retail. Boasting a cool million square feet of retail space, Hudson Yards has drawn Neiman Marcus to New York,  as well as the Dallas-based millennial-friendly department store Forty Five Ten. Here’s a guide to all the new shops that have opened in Hudson Yards so far.

Why It’s Never Too Early to Start Thinking About Your College Application Essays
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You should be thinking about your college application essays now. Like, right now.
No pressure—think of it more like an invitation.
Why start now? Because whether you know it or not, you’ve already started writing those essays.
That might seem like a strange idea. Let me explain:
Your college application essays will ask you to tell a story (or stories) about your life. Many students struggle to find an angle worth developing in their essays. I’ve heard a number of students say something to the effect of, “I don’t think there’s anything interesting about me, so what can I write about?”
But that’s never true: everyone has a compelling story to tell. The issue is not that high school students don’t have meaningful life experience, as many adults might think. It’s that most teenagers have not yet figured out how to view their experiences as meaningful.
So, when I say it’s never too early to begin thinking about your college application essays, what I really mean is: you should start thinking about how to tell a story out of your day-to-day life.
Or, better yet, you should start thinking about how to make your day-to-day life worthy of a story. In order to do that, you have to fill your days with meaning.
What are you doing right now, or tomorrow, or this weekend that will help you create a compelling story about yourself? Think about the next few months or the next few years as a chapter in a book. What actions can you take to create an inspiring beginning, middle, and end?
No matter what you think about your day-to-day life right now, you can do this. In fact, you can do it really, really well.
Consider how you would answer the third Personal Insight Question from the University of California:
What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?
I had one student a couple years ago who was really struggling to pick the right PIQs (if you’re applying to UC schools, you’ll need to complete 4 of the 8 options). Over the course of several weeks, we spoke for hours about his interests, hobbies, future goals, family life, extracurricular activities—nearly everything under the sun.
When we got to this question, I asked him if he had any special talents.
His answer? Blowing bubbles.
Not with bubble gum. Not with those bubble toys for kids. His talent was blowing bubbles with his very own saliva.
Yuck. Obviously, he couldn’t write about that—or so he thought.
We talked about how he started blowing bubbles, if there were patterns to when he blew bubbles, and how people in his life reacted to his bubbles. This is where a story started to emerge. He had real, convincing accounts of how this seemingly silly (and pretty gross) habit made people laugh and deflated conflicts.
His response to this PIQ was probably his best because it was filled with details about using this seemingly meaningless talent to help others. It was funny, it was relatable, it was detailed, and it was really, really compelling.
When this student blew bubbles, he was unwittingly writing his college application essays. It took time, creativity, and serious reflection to craft a narrative out of those bubbles, but he did it.
What will make your job easier is developing meaningful habits today. Start by reading some of these personal statements, which are filled with beautiful insights and turns of phrase that might help you when you sit down to write.
And then, get working toward—and thinking about—how to craft your own story.

Beatrix Character Design Revisit
Updated design for Beatrix Althea's eyes, proportions, and anatomy. Her original "dot eyes" did not fit in with the rest of the style of PIQ cast. In the future, I need to create a style guide for all my stories, including PIQ and World of Iohnovia, to avoid any weird inconsistencies in the style. A year ago, I originally designed Beatrix as a Storytime avatar for a character-driven storytime series. I since then changed my story for PIQ to be an adventure story. That change also inspired me to worldbuild a whole universe where PIQ and my other stories will take place.
