The main altar of the Parish Church of Estômbar, also know of Church of Saint James (Igreja de São Tiago).
This is the Portuguese Baroque at its best: an (rather intelligent) mix of gilded woodcarving with azulejo - the cromatic elegance of the gold and the blue.

A Calvary scene in one of the side altars of the Parish Church of Estômbar.
Usually, the Calvary is composed by Jesus crucified, Mary (usually, as Our Lady of Pain or Our Lady of Anguishes), and Saint John The Evangelist - the exact figures you see in this altar. However, it should be noted that some Calvary scenes also include Mary Magdalene.
