Will update with more, but it looks like we're in for a mix of writers with a lot of experience in kids' shows. Not sure who the paleontology expert is going to be without Josie, or if the writing is going to be as strong as the first three seasons of Camp Cretaceous.

Paul-Mikel Williams is almost guaranteed to return as Darius, and I heard rumors of Ryan Potter being attached (Kenji may just be a cameo, though, anchored to the show by his fraternal bond to our current possible-MC, probably-mentor).

I don't believe Zack Stentz has any attachment, but Spielberg and Treverrow ARE executive producers, which obviously could mean Nothing or could mean that they will surprise us.

1. my first impression of them

DORKIEST MOST PRECIOUS BOY EVER!!!!! was endeared right off the bat and my love for him only grew as the series progressed. i can't remember when exactly he was cemented as my Absolute favorite character but he's always been at the top of the rung for me, even before he got all his Layers :) 7. a quote of them that you remember

UGH there's so many ... most notably is his "pick up the pieces and keep going" speech though. i know that's probably a cop out because it's The defacto quote but it represents so much about his character. his backstory his role in the story his mentality ... dare i say his best And worst traits, even. i could write a whole essay about how the way darius internalizes this motto is as damaging as it is productive but A) i'm eepy, and B) i worry the meaning would get lost in translation (read: i maybe wouldn't express myself perfectly).

26. when do you think they were being "themselves" the most?

first scene that comes to mind is when yaz goes with darius on the discovery walk in s2e01, after he wakes up from his nightmare. this is probably the first time since things went to shit that we get to see darius unabashedly express his interests and have fun. yaz being there as a mentee (his pseudo cool older cousin in my eyes, but really just a peer with more life experience than him) really brings attention to the fact that ... darius is just a kid. he always has been. he's smart, and he's resourceful, and without him the group probably wouldn't have made it as far as escaping the indominus rex when it cornered them at the zipline tower, but none of that negates that he's still the youngest out of all them. and i like how this scene exemplifies that aspect of his character in a positive light ^-^

30. the funniest scene they had?

HARD TO SAY ... it's a tie between "that's an herbivore" (s2e01 circa brooklander vlog montage) and "you said you'll be fine, which means you're not fine—right now" (s3e01, darius asking ben what's wrong and ben repeatedly failing to shrug him off). darius is So done in the first scene that it's palpable, but paul-mikel williams absolutely nails the voice delivery on the second one, i couldn't choose between these two moments if my life depended on it → character ask game! 🦖✨

Creepypasta

The IMDb description of various directors’ CREEPYPASTA (2023, Tubi) says that a man trapped in a house searches for clues to why he’s there in a series of viral videos that infect his mind. Would it were so coherent. The man trapped in the house searching videos part is there, but they don’t infect him in any specific way. There’s no wrap up a la DEAD OF NIGHT (1945) to make it more than a random collection of short horror films inspired by the on-line creepypasta phenomenon (and made during quarantine). Fortunately, some of them are very good. What’s most notable about the successful ones is that they’re mostly visual. There may be a few lines to set up a situation, but Daniel Garcia and Tony Morales’ separate tales of children with imaginary friends who turn out to be all too real, Morales’ surrealistic story of a woman on oxygen haunted by a demon child and Paul Stamper’s pieces about a man who never follows the rules and an online date that turns out to be a trap are all wonderful to look at. Unfortunately, Mikel Cravatta’s framing story is the weakest, and since that’s the one we spend the most time with, it’s a downer. Most of the vignettes are low-tech, but this one is no-tech. It feels like amateur hour gone wrong. And you can tell where it’s going long before it drags you there. The framing section is narrated by a child, which would be unsettling in a better film, and her final warning that her next story will be about the viewer is so obvious you want to laugh. William Castle did that kind of thing better.

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Teaser

Netflix has dropped the first teaser for the upcoming series Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous. How is this place still open?

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, Frank Marshall, and showrunners Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley. The series was developed by Zack Stentz, who also serves as consulting producer. The eight episode series follows six teens chosen for a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. Naturally, things go awry and when the dinos attack the campers will go from strangers to friends as they band together to survive.

The series, from Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, and Amblin Entertainment, stars the voice talents of Paul-Mikél Williams (Darius), Jenna Ortega (Brooklynn), Ryan Potter (Kenji), Raini Rodriguez (Sammy), Sean Giambrone (Ben), Kausar Mohammed (Yaz), Jameela Jamil (camp counselor), and Glen Powell (camp counselor).
