With such a God-focused season, one day, once Junior Year is finished and I have both the time and energy to do it, I want to make a Fantasy High God AU zine. It'd be from the pov of a mythologist/theologian in Spyre who's found strange links between minor deities throughout different regions' pantheons.

Half-Elves have a God of Dance and Flames who has been said to have defeated a Tiefling vagabond (and tamed his Hellhound mount) and charmed Fire itself with only a dance and his silk battle sheet. And if you look deep enough into his history there are rare depictions of him wearing an oddly shaped pendant and riding into battle with a sling-wielding Goblin peeking out of his rucksack. Interestingly enough, there's a minor Goblin God of Justice and Mysteries, the son of a Goblin Folk Hero and the Goblin Goddess of Knowledge, Laws, and Justice, who famously wields his father's enchanted sling. Though he and his father are often shown with angelic wings. So, why would he dally with a God so closely associated with Fiends?

Tieflings have a trickster Goddess of Music, Rebellion, and Devotion. The daughter of an Archdevil and a Wood Elven Goddess of Archery & the Wilderness. She's said to be a paramour of a Half-Phoenix Pirate Goddess of Wizardry and Knowledge and once toured the lands, performing with a Half-Orc companion. A lot of artistic recreations of that tour depict the Half-Orc companion with flower motifs that correspond with a Gnomish/Half-Orcish God of Tinkering and Rage. One that once outwitted a Sphynx and regained his spurned Saytr paramour's love by speaking to/reaching the stars with the help of a band of Tinkerer Gnomes.

There are tales of a Twice Risen Goddess who was once the chosen one of the Demigod Helio, but took one look at him and thought she could do better. With the wisdom to raise Gods from the dead and remove unholy rites without any divine power other than her own, this God-Saint of Doubt travels across Spyre not to spread her own religion but to inquire about others. This deep curiosity is probably how she ended up in some Fallinel depictions of the First Elven Oracle, who upon death ascended to becoming the Goddess of Sight, Intelligence and Righteous Fury. There are even short hymns written about the Oracle foreseeing the God-Saint's rise (against the Elven Moon Goddess' wishes) and of the God-Saint banishing some dark entity from possessing the Oracle with only a profane curse of its name.

And even more stuff connecting them all. Like the fact that all of them have tales of them defeating an Ancient Red Dragon. Or the tales of The Festival of the Crab King: a strange, delirious story of mortals witnessing a euphoric revelry of the deific kind that involved all these Gods from different pantheons.

The queen, enchanted by the worship of the earthen creatures, presented the mortals with the divine gift of fire, contained in the fruit of a simple apple tree…

Duo AU; Pro Gamer Iso x Violinist!Reader (Part 1)

I check the iso x reader tag EVERYDAY. FOR ISO CONTENT. Sadly, Iso isn't that popular. Sigh. Guess I'll do it myself.

AU inspired by those public pianist trends on yt and my Iso x OC ship as always. Along with that one toxic pro gamer Iso x reader on here, i fking love that au sm. (Hes not toxic in this one tho lol)

Pro Valorant player Zhao Yu, better known by his internet name "Dead Lilac" is a mechanically gifted one-trick main whose name is famous all over the gaming community.

Professional Violinist "Reader", famous for their musical talent and prodigal like abilities, having climbed up the ranks and becoming renowed in the music community and on social media.

Iso finishes up a stream with a sigh, the ratio of wins to losses was bad today, how disappointing. Zhao Yu lays in bed, taking a brief moment of rest before he continued on with his day.

His roommate Omen is playing with the cat when he goes to the kitchen to get something to eat, they talk for a bit, and the cat starts purring at his feet. He picks it up and just does a stare off with the thing while it paws at his face (without claws), and blows a rasberry. Omen chuckles.

Omen brings up the fact that his friends are going out for an outting later, Zhao Yu decides to get ready. He wears his signature hoodie ofc.

Jamie, Sunwoo, Tala, Tayane, and Mateo come along. Sadly, Ryo couldn't come. He was too busy with his drift practice or whatever. Tala says her brother was just too lazy to come.

They all meet up at the mall where they go shopping and do whatever, discussing random whatnots and getting up to antics. And then they find a piano in public and Jamie tells Zhao Yu to play something, they'll record it and post it online because why not? He's really good at playing it too.

Zhao Yu decides to humor them and gets on the piano, trying to think of a piece to play before he starts.

His fingers cross the keys with grace and practiced ease, playing a romantic classical version of a popular song. Zhao Yu finds himself lost in the music piece as strangers began turning heads and pausing in their step. He can feel his friends' eyes on him as Phoenix' camera records him, and he finds himself becoming more confident with each note he plays.

Unbeknowst to him, as he was nearing the chorus, one stranger came up and opened a peculiar shaped bag, pulling out a violin out of it. The moment Zhao Yu plays the chorus note, a new instrument joined him.

He almost paused, but his fingers kept playing. Somehow, he and the violinist were perfectly in sync. He turned his head without lifting his fingers, and he see's the stranger playing the instrument, and he's awed by their ability.

More people crowd around as they watch the duet, enchanted by the melody and harmony while Jamie continues recording. Zhao Yu and the stranger play until the end of the song. When they finished, the whole crowd applauded and cheered. It sort of reminded Zhao Yu of the music recitals he did when he was younger.

He gets off the piano and approaches his duet, complimenting them on their skill and giving his name, which the stranger responded with their own.

Reader and Zhao Yu chat about the piece they just played, and Jamie and Mateo run in with the video, showing it to both of them. It's then that Zhao Yu saw Reader passing by before they decided to play, and he's amazed at how easily they synced up to him without missing a note.

Mateo then says that he was a fan of Reader which promptly confused Zhao Yu. Was Reader someone famous? Jamie asked for permission to post the video which Reader granted without issue.

They continued talking for a moment up until Reader said that they had an appointment to get to and excused themself.

By the time that was over, Zhao Yu's friend group went nuts. Apparently having held themselves back from "ruining his chances", whatever that meant. Jamie and Mateo however couldn't hold themselves which is why they approached. Sunwoo proceeded to shake him uncontrollably for not getting Reader's number. When he asked why he needed it, Tala called him a "lonely bastard".

He asks if they knew her since Mateo did, and he was told that Reader was a social media influencer known for their violin talent.

Jamie sent the video to Zhao Yu's editor and they continued on with their hangout. Though, the duet still played on the back of his mind throughtout.

Timeskip to later that night, Zhao Yu realized that maybe he should have gotten Reader's number, and also why Tala called him lonely. Omen watched the video too and acknowledged Reader's social media presence which made Zhao Yu wonder just how popular they were if even his roommate knew about them.

The next day, Iso's editor had the video ready and posted. And it was doing numbers.

As it turns out, a duet between a pro gramer and a famous violinist was bound to go viral and become so popular that it was trending on every platform.

Both to his confusion and surprise, his fans went crazy with the shipping. He knew what it was only because his online group and team engaged in such antics. Although he wasn't sure how Reader would react. He only just recently followed them on their socials and was surprised to find out that they were already a follower.

His twitch chat wouldn't shut up about the duet and he recounted the story of how that moment came to be. And they went haywire. Zhao Yu found ship edits of him and Reader from the duet video and things were getting out of hand. He was worried of how this would affect them considering they weren't part of this side of the community, much less even in this community.

He found a response from Reader regarding the duet, and to his relief it was mostly positive. They even addressed a part of the response directly to him, asking if they should record an official one if he wanted to.

Now, Zhao Yu was open to collabs. But for some reason, this one had him staring at his screen for minutes as the type bar blinked in the chat box, it was Reader's instagram.

He decided that it wouldn't hurt to add some music content into his gaming content and wanted to reach out to Reader to inquire about that collab idea they proposed. Except... he was nervous.

Why was he though? It made no sense. Zhao Yu didn't get nervous, so why was he? He's done this dozens of times, so why was it any different now?

Mustering up all the courage he could, he typed a few letters and sent the message without leaving room to think it over.

On Reader's phone, a notification popped up from instagram messages. They opened it up, it was from Iso?!

"Hey" they read.

There's something just beneath the surface, just at the periphery of Harry's mind. They've been here before — they've done this before. If only he could remember it.

And Embers at Your Lips by @nametheshadows (T, 15k) - sequel to one of my all-time favorite 8th year fics with insomniac roommates just as soft and healing as LLAYF. Gorgeous prose and all the kissing. Highly rec this series for A+ comfort food!

The sequel to Like Lightning at Your Fingertips: the kissing montage. And there’s that thing with Potter’s magic.

Rich Friend, Anon (E, 18k) - one of my faves from Wireless, pop star!Draco never gets old and both the pacing and the romance are perfectly developed! I live for Harry’s horny yearning and for their road trip together, kudos to casual Harry/Neville as a side ship!

As far as Harry can tell, Draco Malfoy is still rich as hell. He’s just not a wizard anymore. Featuring: Draco Malfoy trying to make it as a Muggle pop star, Harry Potter as our confused and horny hero, bad driving, good music, and the mysterious magic of falling for someone.

Waking Up Slow, Anon (E, 22k) - this ode to advent Drarry fics took my breath away with a charming Draco, fun dynamics, an enchanting Christmas shop and one of the sexiest smut scenes I’ve read this year, 10/10 recommend for hot & sweet magical vibes and lots of references as an homage to the classics!

We Are Legend by Vaysh (E, 38k) - happy to report to @romaine2424 that I have finally read this epic apocalypse AU and am shooketh with its originality and serious tone. One of the most creative takes I’ve seen on animagus Draco, a poignant and devastating war story.

Eighty years into the future, Voldemort won. Harry Potter is a renegade wizard, Portkeying Muggles out of London to Hogwarts, last sanctuary in a Britain ruled by the Dark Lord. On a mission he encounters a powerful phoenix Animagus fighting on the Death Eaters' side. He recognises Draco Malfoy whom he thought long dead. But the differences between them are perhaps even greater than before. Cw: MCD

LA, Who Am I To Love You?, Anon (E, 42k) - I cannot believe this beauty was written for my lil Wireless prompt ♥️ perfect LA vibes, gorgeous aesthetics, horny ust and a fascinating take on both down and out bi Harry and out and proud bi Draco, we love to see it! Couldn’t have asked for a better story to fill my prompt, ty anon!

Harry’s summer in LA is not going as expected. Pansy Parkinson keeps inviting him to parties in the Hollywood Hills and harassing him to finally go to the physical therapist, Blaise Zabini keeps slipping new strains of his company’s magical weed into Harry’s pockets in hopes of an endorsement, and Draco Malfoy keeps having sex with everyone but Harry.

A Different Tune by November Snowflake (M, 8k) - very nice Dron get together, short & sweet with an undercurrent melancholy that I love, just what I needed before bed

Working in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office has led Ron to many strange encounters--but none more unexpected than this one. Cw: Harry’s dead

The Years Between by brummell (M, 14k) - another rare pair fave, this Rarry fic told from Ron’s smitten and jealous pov as he helps Harry recover from a coma is so deliciously raw and angsty. Gorgeous slow burn, the feels!

For both Harry and Ron, a wake-up call is just the beginning.

Things Remembered by avioleta (E, 17k) - best Snarry fic I’ve read this year, I’m low key obsessed with this hitmen + amnesia concept and how the romance develops so organically while they’re on the run. Intriguing plot, sexy ust and super scorching smut that made me salivate jfc 🔥

Harry wakes up in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar hotel room, and with absolutely no idea who he is. The man he’s in bed with has no memories either. But they think, maybe, they’re assassins, because they seem to be very good at killing people.

A Dress with Pockets by PacificRimbaud (E, 25k) - a Panville classic recced by anon (ty!!), what a sexy and vibrant read! I LOVED Neville and their dynamics are brilliant and so funny, I just couldn’t get enough of these characters. 100% sold on this ship pls and thank

I’m trying not to make the whole Silmarillion superhero au about Fingon and Maedhros, but really, who is doing it like them.

They’re punchclock super-nemeses but they’re both chronic workaholics, and also genuinely Like This (Fingon reflexively rescues cats from trees in passing; Maedhros’s civilian hobby, aside from sometimes sketching, is engaging in vengeful internecine politics in first their apartment building’s Residents Association [despite owning the building], then their HOA and PTA).

Maedhros is arguably an antihero more than a villain, but the scale of his willingness to steal, kill, conquer, mind control, etc. in order to achieve his roughly benevolent goals puts him squarely in Supervillain.

They’re married in their secret civilian identities.

They flirt so much as public nemeses that they accidentally developed a shared kink about it.

Maedhros Phoenix has a team of scientists dedicated to figuring out how to defeat Valiant; he marks these meetings as “Date Night Ideas.” Some of the scientists have figured it out and are cool about it; sometimes one will get frustrated, go Villain independently and try to kill Valiant on their own, which is kind of like extra enrichment in Fingon’s enclosure.

Once, the scientists stole some of Fingon’s DNA and combined it with Maedhros’s to make a test tube baby to defeat the hero once and for all; Maedhros took him out as a baby and they raised him as a normal child. Ironically, Ereinion DOES have the power of negating other people’s powers and notable abilities, very conducive to defeating a Hero, but that’s his Light-given power so the scientists had no influence on it whatsoever.

Fingon thinks the way to unite the world behind against Morgoth (who WILL return one day; the whole headless House of Finwë agrees on this) is to prove themselves reliable allies and leaders, and to generally inoculate Earth against the Enemy by spreading unity, compassion, etc; Maedhros thinks the world will unite behind them against Morgoth when he fucking rules it.

Their neighbors’ understanding is that Maedhros runs a stationary business with some unclear number of his eternally misbehaving younger brothers and Fingon is a private sports coach/martial arts instructor who also offers free classes for underserved youth at an inner-city community center (which he does).

There is in-universe shipping discourse about them (as Valiant and Phoenix, common shipname bravebird) like you wouldn’t BELIEVE.

Like the rest of the House of Finwë, they wear glasses in their secret identities enchanted to hide their glowing eyes. Fingon’s are gold-rimmed.

So I'm not sure if this question has been asked, but what would've happened if Akainu won?

Also you somehow got me swooning when he holds reader in his arms and you describe his expression of awe??

That probably wasn't even intentional but it's got me wondering what an ending with him would be like.

Is a yandere too? Platonic? Romantic??

Well, actually, there is one pending request for a yandere Akainu end (with smut). Though by default all characters are platonic (Akainu was the surprise yandere by secret vote actually). Hopefully I can finish the au endings next month but I've been meaning to write them for quite some time now so... I guess we'll just have to see?

And anyway, an ending with Akainu would have him miraculously survive the blast and find reader at the inn before Marco and Ace do. Reader was smart enough to act in a way that would leave them relatively clear if they couldn't get away, but Akainu doesn't need much encouragement to excuse anything reader does as somehow innocent.

Thing is, every since he'd heard of them (in a meeting where the higher ups were considering where best to assign reader given their devil fruit), he's been enchanted by the idea of them. An agreeable, fresh recruit with a devil fruit to match. And seeing how most devil fruit users match their fruit, he made the not so crazy assumption that reader would also be supportive. And as someone so much stronger than his subordinates, he's used to having to do the heavy lifting to accomplish his goals. His equals so different in personality and power they inevitably clash, right down to their ideas of justice.

But, in his eyes, reader just needs to be taught. They're still weak (though now he knows they can be very clever) so it's understandable that they may have picked up on some bad habits.

So, when he finds them again he personally takes them under his wing. No more 'other partners'. Just him. And he sort of slips into the headspace that he's the only one that can keep reader on the right path. That their time with Whitebeard has caused permanent psychological harm (like, not immediately immolating civilians that help pirates--obviously this isn't an issue of ingrained morals but brainwashing to think it's okay to help criminals). This isn't helped by reader not being stupid enough to argue with him under normal circumstances.

And since reader can't be trusted to make good decisions on their own, they just need to stay with Akainu so their 'real' true potential can be met. The fact that this means Akainu will never have to feel alone in life or his pursuit of Absolute Justice is not a coincidence. Having a 'perfect match' is intoxicating (Marco himself ran into this issue since physical contact makes the reader also feel like a phoenix so his instincts without the power to oppose him). Having your perfect match be incapable of threatening you on any real level even more so for people with clear issues like Akainu.

He doesn't chain the reader like Teach did. But they're never too far from Akainu's reach either, other marines under strict order to return them to his side if they're caught elsewhere.

This ending is meant to be a tad ambiguous as well if it's platonic, romantic, or sexual. But it could very easily be any of them since his attraction isn't based on their looks or personality, but what their presence brings him personally. That look of awe could be from seeing first hand how their devil fruit could be used or that someone could influence devil fruits that much and be meant to stay by his side. After all, they were tossed about different bases without his protection and look what happened!

Funfact about Phoenix! She was originally a monkey forest spirit made by her master as a symbol of growth and nature. However, after an... incident involving some demons in a nearby village, she was forced to dawn a new appearance.

So in my story, her original design is the glamour she wears while the new design is in the one she covers up. She covers it with an enchanted mask so strong that not even Erlang or Wukong can see through it. They can sense her power but not see her appearance.

Of course, this means no one knows that she's a monkey during the journey until... I don't know if I should spoil it or not... hmm decisions decisions... 🤔 😏

This is Iris Adarna! She is the passionate dancer and Songbird of the forest!

She is mostly based off of one of Philippines famous mythology birds Ibong Adarna! The Philippine trogon's vivid colors earned it the nickname "Ibong Adarna". The Ibong Adarna is often described as the most colorful bird in Philippine folklore. It is also thought to share a resemblance to other legendary birds such as the Sarimanok and the phoenix. (But in my OC'S au,the three are all cousin's)

Her purpose like the the legendary colorful bird is that Ibong Adarna is a quest that teaches us that perseverance and generosity empower us to reach our dreams!

The Adarna bird is the namesake mythical bird from the Filipino story Ibong Adarna in which the bird is sought after for its magical powers. The Adarna bird has the ability to sing seven songs of enchantment and can put people to sleep, turn objects to stone, or perform miraculous healing

Iris sings across the Forests,fields and meadows, being a travelling songbird that can heal people through her seven songs (such as o maliwanag na buwan, mabuhay, love letters, going to richmond, Speak no evil and Golden slumbers/she's leaving home)

Her pastime/hobby is singing different songs across her path as she dances gracefully, but be careful with what intentions you may bring upon my little songbird, she could sense and see through you and will bring out your true colors! (Dun,dun,dun!)

some random road to hell au worldbuilding that i dont know how to seamlessly integrate into the actual fics themselves so have this Lore Dump instead:

magic is a force of nature in the world of road to hell. everything is affected by it, and everything either creates or consumes it. most typical humans are unable to tangibly affect or channel magic, but they generate enough to sustain themselves. there are a few very rare individuals who can completely nullify magic in the space around them and are unable to be harmed or helped by it (called voids, nulls, or suppressors interchangeably)

magical creatures can use magic in specific, very limited ways. for example: werewolves use it to shift between their human and wolf forms. vampires can no longer make enough magic on their own to sustain themselves, and therefore have to consume blood from others to supply it. fae have a more broad range of magical skills, but most lesser fae are confined to things like glamours, mild enchantments, etc. a limited amount of magic remains in their corpses after death, which means that there is unfortunately a lot of black market trade around things like werewolf claws, vampire fangs, fae bones, etc.

"mythicals" aka dragons, phoenixes, court fae, etc, generate enough magical energy that they can do incredible feats. its how soap was able to hide himself from typical military magical checks, and how farah can heal herself and others. its a double edged sword, though. this means that even after death, mythical creatures' bodies still contain a MASSIVE amount of magical power, and that magical power can be used and abused in very creative ways.

there are also three main schools of magical humans (they're not quite human, but not quite creature so they dont really apply to either category but no one knows where to put them: witches, sorcerers, and wizards

witches can only use magic through living things. they dont have to be living anymore, mind you, but they use things like blood, bone, plants, etc for their magic. sorcerers, on the other hand, channel their magic through inanimate objects. often they have a specialization - stone, metal, or wood are the most common - but anything inanimate is fair game. some skilled sorcerers can even use electronics as a channeling device. the last type, wizards, are the most rare. they pull magic straight from the source without any need for a third party conduit. as such, they are incredibly powerful but highly volatile and were often either hunted or contained

Tangled Superhero AU

Had an idea today for this kind of AU while at work. So here it is!

Story:

Once upon a time, two celestial gems fell from the heavens, the Sundrop and the Moonstone. One grew into a beautiful golden flower with the ability to heal the sick and injured, yet also burn anything in its path, the other became a mysterious blue crystal capable of grand destruction, yet also incredible protection. As time went on, two kingdoms, Corona and Eclipse, grew where the celestial drops resided- until Corona’s crown princess and eventual successor was kidnapped, bringing with it the loss of the Sundrop.

18 years after her disappearance, the lost princess Rapunzel returns with Eugene Fitzherbert aka Sassy Wolf, a petty werewolf thief. All seems fine…until an ancient evil demon is accidentally released from her eternal imprisonment. Now Rapunzel along with Eugene, her personal guardian Cassandra and a mysterious young chemist Varian must go on a journey to find the Moonstone before the Eclipse in order to prevent Zhan Tiri’s plans while also discovering more about Rapunzel’s own powers…

Characters:

Rapunzel aka Phoenix- a freshly 18 year old young woman who is Corona’s princess and eventual successor. She received her powers from her mother who, while pregnant, was cursed by Clementine, one of the members of Separatists of Saporia, causing her to fall deathly ill. Luckly the kingdom’s members found the legendary Sundrop Flower, thus healing Arianna and granting Rapunzel her powers. Unfortunately, soon after her birth, Mother Gothel kidnapped her and imprisoned her away from Corona in her own luxury apartment on top of another city’s highest skyscraper for 18 years…until she met Eugene and, having figured out the truth about herself, escaped. At first, she’s happy with her new life, but after meeting a certain young chemist, an ancient demon Zhan Tiri is released and, in order to stop her, she and her friends must take on a journey to the Dark Kingdom in order to get the Moonstone before the demon.

With the help of the Sundrop Flower lullaby, Rapunzel gains its powers. She has super speed, the ability to fly(DUH), glow in the dark, heal others and bring back those who have died with a touch of her hand, reverse aging and, after her hair’s been cut off, summon rays of sunlight from her hands that can act as a grappling hook. Upon discovering the third incantation, the also gains an ability to summon fire, turn into a phoenix which creates a healing aura around her as well as enchants her flying speed, and creates powerful blasts to knock enemies away.

Eugene Fitzherbert aka Flynn Rider aka Phantom Howl- a sarcastic thief who works in a suspicious second hand store in a shady area of the city he lives in while working as a werewolf thief Phantom Howl by night- until one day he meets Rapunzel and makes a deal with her to see the Lantern Ceremony of Corona. The two fall deeply in love and after Gothel attempts to take Rapunzel back, he sacrifices his life to kill the evil witch, only to be brought back by Rapunzel’s healing tears. Upon bringing her back, he’s pardoned of his crimes and later joins her on a quest to find the Moonstone while also learning about his own origins.

Having had a rough life, Eugene’s street smart and knows what to do in a dire situation. During the night, he turns into a werewolf, a form which he uses to his advantage, be it to climb using his sharp claws, sense danger via enchanted smell, hearing and sight, leave the police in the dust via super speed or dash through rounds of bullets fired at him via higher invulnerability. Not to mention being able to carry others on his back(he hates it) and understanding animal language(often leads to hilarious interactions with Max, Fidella, Ruddiger and Pascal). He gained an ability to turn into a werewolf when a week after his birth he Moonstone let out a massive shockwave, killing his mother as well as many other members of Eclipse, thus leading his father to send him away due to his fear of it happening again.

Cassandra aka Night Knight- Rapunzel’s personal guard and best friend. Unlike the show, in this version Cass knows she’s Gothel’s daughter and thus, even though she hates to admit it, has a bit of a grudge towards Rapunzel, thinking she was somehow “better” than her due to having been abused very early in life. After being abandoned by her mother, she was taken in by the captain of the guards and trained from a young age to become a guard. Upon Rapunzel’s return, she’s made her personal guardian, much to Cass’ disappointment, but upon seeing the warm person that she is, the young guardian begins to have doubts about her previous thoughts. But due to her desires to get more attention than being princess’ personal guard and Zhan Tiri’s manipulation getting the better hold, she takes the Moonstone so she could defeat Zhan Tiri by herself. But it soon dawns on her that it takes far more to defeat an ancient demon…

With the power of the Moonstone, Cassandra gains the ability to fly, super strength, higher invulnerability, telekinesis, summoning black rocks to destroy everything on her path or to imprison people in cages and drain lifeforce from everything around her. Upon discovering the third incantation, she gains an ability to summon a protective shield around herself in case her invulnerability doesn’t do the thing or as an extra precaution, turn into a wolf and also gain a powerful shockwave which can even go through buildings and destroy them.

Varian aka Crescent- a 14 year old chemist and master technician who lives with his single father. Having had to spend much of his time alone due to his father’s neglect and a lack of friends other than his pet raccoon Ruddiger, he’s mostly self-educated and enjoys trying out new tests in his lab, often ending up in disaster. Upon meeting Rapunzel for the first time during a Science Fair and getting a handshake from her, the two unknowingly release an ancient demon Zhan Tiri from her eternal imprisonment, thus bringing about a snowstorm that sort of severs his friendship with Rapunzel. But instead of taking revenge right away, he decides to play the long game so he could get Moonstone for himself to free his father from the amber he created. Aaaaand then maybe cuss Rapunzel out. But during their journey, he begins to regret his thoughts and decides on not going through the plan, not knowing a certain demon has her own plans…

Being slightly affected by the Moonstone’s essence, Varian has a surprisingly high invulnerability to injuries as well as turning into a werewolf. As his powers grow, he slowly begins to gain Moonstone’s other powers, such as telekinesis(which eventually leads him to realize how much he misunderstood Rapunzel)

Mother Gothel- an evil witch who was once in the service of Zhan Tiri. Although the demon didn’t tell much to her three followers about her true quest, Gothel figured out how gaining at least one of the powers grants you immortality. She betrayed her master, but at the last moment Lord Demanitus stopped them by sending Zhan Tiri and two of her followers into a Lost Realm as Gothel escaped, but not before Zhan Tiri cursed the witch to be old and weak until the end of her lifetime. Sometime later however, Gothel came across the Sundrop Flower and upon discovering it can temporarily reverse her condition, used it so she could at least keep living on. Until Corona’s queen fell ill and the flower was used to heal her. The evil witch kidnapped the princess so she could still remain young, but that ultimately came to an end when Phantom Wolf cut away Rapunzel’s hair, severing her connection with the Sundrop flower and causing her to die.

Zhan Tiri- an ancient evil demon who enjoys causing chaos and commiting murder. She has an ability to control nature, shapeshift as well as possess both people and animals. Upon learning about the Celestial Gems, she decided to get them cos more power means more murder(She’s a complete psycho in this AU, okay?). Taking the form of a human, she joined forces with Lord Demanitus to find them. Unlike the show, Moonstone in this Au takes the form of a blue crystal, which by the time of when the AU takes place has been made into a pendant(a blue round stone surrounded in one side with a crescent-shared howling wolf head), while the Sundrop stays the same.

They grant whoever fuses the stone with powers named above and will activate via incantations. However, the powers only last around 2 hours before the incantation must be sung again. Alongside that the powers of different gems will either be stronger or weaker depending on whether it’s day or night.
