There’s something about Percy spending the whole episode remembering how upset he was with his mother for separating them, but with this newfound understanding of why she did it, and then deciding to leave her (temporarily) at Hades’ palace because it’s the right thing to do, regardless of how much it hurts.
“Hold fast, Mom,” because they’re braving the storm that was made to break them.

This was not how I thought the Poseidon and Sally flashback would be but I am LOVING it. The way Sally is the only mortal who could summon a god literally immediately and just talk freely and vent to him and Poseidon was so in love with her.

Giving Hades the temperament of a middle school guidance counselor is probably the greatest use of characterization I have ever seen in my life

hey so
has anyone thought about Hades's "Ask me for sanctuary. If Kronos is out there you're not safe. Ask me for sanctuary and I'll protect you, and your mom." (not a direct quote) and how that relates to how he couldn't save Maria? Like, Sally was part of the deal immediately. Because he knows. He knows what it is to watch a child's mother die in front of them. Because I'm thinking about it.
Mark my words, friends. There will be a call back to that conversation when we find out what happened to the di Angelos. Calling it now.

I was thinking about the “four pearls” situation and the payoff just hit me.
The difference is so significant because in the books there is already no hope. We know there are only three pearls and four people. But giving him the hope of saving his mom is a devastating blow because can you imagine how heartbreaking it’s going to be when Percy inevitably loses or breaks the fourth pearl? His reaction? Walker’s acting?
They basically just made it a lot worse for us, y’all 🤡.

I really liked how we got some of the Percy and Grover dynamic in episode 7. Don’t get me wrong I love Percy and Annabeth and I love that they’ve had time to bond and develop their friendship (with the tunnel of love and the casino) one on one, but I’ve MISSED the Grover-Percy friendship and I’m glad that the writers incorporated that into the episode.
