A love triangle between Shaam, Asin and Laila causes problems in the friendship they have shared since college. Things take an unexpected turn when Laila’s heart breaks when Shaam proposes to Asin. ‘Ullam Ketkumae’, which was directed by Jeeva, was all about a group of five college friends. Shaam, Laila, Asin, Arya and Pooja played the roles of five friends in the film, and the music was scored by Harris Jayaraj.

Members of a defunct cricket team are challenged to a game by a younger team at a wedding venue. The film follows the journey of four friends to Hyderabad, where they are forced to take a detour due to an accident. But they get lost on their way and descend into a forest, where they see a woman being kidnapped, and soon they are pursued by criminals. The fun-filled film with twists was directed by Venkat Prabhu, and it featured Shiva, Vaibhav, Premji, S. P. B. Charan, Vega Tamotia, Jayaram and Prakash Raj in main roles.

05/6​’Nadodigal’ – 2009

The story of the film revolves around three friends Karunakaran, Chandran and Pandian, who fight to unite their friend, Saravanan, with his lover Prabha but an unfortunate incident changes the trio’s lives. The action-drama features Sasikumar, Vijay Vasanth and Bharani in the lead roles, and the film directed by Samuthirakani received positive reviews. Owing to the success of the film, the sequel titled ‘Nadodigal 2’ was released recently.

After deciding to be lonely for the rest of his life, a committed bachelor lands in a fix when he starts developing feelings for a woman who works with him. But his stubborn nature doesn’t let him admit his love for her. ‘Endrendrum Punnagai’ was written and directed by I Ahmed, and it was well received by the audience. It got great reviews from the critics as well and turned out to be a commercial hit. The romantic drama features Jiiva, Vinay, Santhanam, Trisha and Nassar in lead roles, and the film’s music was scored by Harris Jayaraj.

HERO MOVIE REVIEW

Hero Story: Produced by Sri Sai Productions and presented by Nirahua Enterprises, Hero is the story of a small time thief and ticket blackier Dev (Pravesh Lal Yadav), who loves Pooja(Shubhi Sharma) very much. One day, Dev happens to meet the ACP of Patna, Vikram Rathore (Awadhesh Mishra) who is pretty much impressed by the courage of Dev and hires him as secret police to eliminate the evil in the city in the form of Shankar Thakur. How does Dev succeeds in fulfilling ACP's wishes and getting his true love forms the crux of the story.

Hero Review: Although the story of the movie isn't too appealing, its the treatment and the performances of the actors which make the the movie worth watching. Especially the first half of the movie is pretty entertaining. Director Subba Rao Gosangi has made sure that there are enough engaging scenes in the movie to keep the audience interested. The initial action scenes as well as the comedy ones are the highpoint of this first half.

The second half gets a little diluted due to the comedy track of Prakash Jais which is simply not required in the movie. This track has no relation with the movie whatsoever. Had this track been deleted from the movie or trimmed, the overall affect of the climax would have been much higher than it is. Hero is a path breaking film as far as Pravesh Lal Yadav is concerned. This has been his best performance till now. He oozes with confidence and performs very well. Shubhi Sharma is quite good. Awadhesh Mishra yet again proves that he is one of the best in this business. Satyaprakash goes through his role very well. Prakash Jais is brilliant in the first half while the impact gets diluted in second half. Rest of the actors are passable.

The film comprises of total 7 songs which are in sync with the mood of the movie. The production values are quite high which reflects throughout the movie. Action scenes by Venkat are high points of the movie. The background music is effective while the poster designing and publicity have been remarkable.

All in all, Hero is good masala and action flick which will be successful to entertain the audience. While the action scenes are the positive point about the movie, the second limits the scope of the movie. The movie has got off too a very good response in Bihar and UP due to brilliant publicity and hence should prove to be a profitable affair. Review By - Akash Dubey,
