Sincerity is scary

Continuing the ideia of my previous post, there’s a song called Sincerity is Scary and the first line goes “irony is okay, i suppose, culture is to blame/ you try and mask your pain in the most portmodern way” MAN, matty really did that. It makes me thing about how in our culture we don’t even know how to be sincere. We just trown a meme or something to not say what we really mean. Of course i’m a part of that. In the past couple years, i’ve trying to be the most sincere i can be, especially to myself. I try to write or record exactly how i’m feeling because it really helped me with my anxiety treatment. And i’ve been trying to be more sincere with others, telling how i feel and being unfraid about being true with people. It’s really a miracle that, for exemple, i can meet a new person and talk about having anxiety and having some trouble with relationships, because i always been such a closed off person. I always kinda hid behind this mask of ‘i don’t care and nothing really gets to me” when it’s obviously wasn’t the case. So after refleting about all my life, i realised that i could be more sincere, i think sometimes i don’t say exactly what i feel to people because, you know, sincerity is scary.

Right now our comunication with people is made through internet so i always feel that my posts on internet don’t really maches with my reality. I still have a facebook account but i don’t even go in there, on instagram i post pics only sometimes and i don’t post any stories. I do have a locked account only for friends where i post funny and intimate shit to my friends like pics of me with a towel in my head, a green face fask or something like this. It’s mostly funny posts and i feel that i could show more the “shitty” moments in my life. Here on tumblr, i mostly reblog post that i like, my blog is basically a collection of things i love but it’s not me (if that makes sense). Anyways...i feel a urge of being more “open” on social media. Share my thoughts and be really sincere but at the same time i don’t feel comfortable with that. I didn’t want to share futile things, i just wanted to share art, write something beautiful and meaningful to me. So Idk man

I’ve been watching a lot of matty’s interviews about the album and guys, it really amazes how articulate, intelligent and sincere he is. He always have been like that but know that he is off drugs i think he can think properly. He makes wanna to go back and read more books. I haven’t really read fiction in a while.
