galerie - moodboard
Merci d'avance à celleux qui auront envie de tenter 🥰✨
Craving commitment from others so bad, but absolutely unable to commit himself, fearing he would end up hurt and suffering anyway (his abandonment issues are so bad that he doesn’t let people in, even less in his love life) — Talks a lot to himself, constantly — Used to be the weird kid at school, is now the weird colleague at work — Lives in his now deceased uncle’s barge and, for the sake of humor, has a phrenology skull named like him, proudly wearing his hat and with a cigarette stuck in his mouth — Pretends he doesn’t drink, then gets drunk — Pretends he doesn’t smoke, then wakes up in the morning coughing like hell because of cigarettes or vapes — Pretends he’s fully straight, then, well — Has a big bunch of weird books, such a “cemetery symbolism, explained and developed” in three different volumes. Yes, he read them all. — His barge looks like a cabinet of curiosities, between his stuff and his uncle’s — Collects traumas like Pokemons — Says he wanna support living arts, then illegally downloads all of the National Theatre’s professionally recorded plays because he can’t afford paying for them with just his salary — Uses wiki how, first degree, way too often — Will insult you with the scientific name just so you have to Google your own humiliation (“you absolute condyloma”)  — Wrote conspiracy theories about Kate Middleton’s disappearance, just for fun, out of boredom. Doesn't regret anything. — Doomswiping instead of doomscrolling : has 257 matchs between Tinder, Hinge and Grindr, never talks to anyone — Dinosaurs > people (he has a dinosaur’s skeleton tattoo on his left bicep) — Don’t you dare calling him georgie — Doesn’t know how to drive a car, bicycles instead — Has a group of friends strangely looking like the “Losers Club” in “It” — Plays pokemon since ‘99 — Could spend hours on Minecraft, or Reddit.

Exploring Thebaine: An Important Opium Alkaloid
Tumblr media
Thebaine was first isolated from opium in 1833 by the German pharmacist Friedrich Sertürner. The early history of this is closely related to the development of morphine as a medicine. During isolation attempts to obtain pure morphine, Sertürner observed that opium contained an additional alkaloid that he initially called "paramorphine". In the late 1830s, the French chemist Pelletier determined its correct empirical formula and established it as a separate alkaloid, naming it this due to its presence in opium harvested from Papaver bracteatum, which is native to the district of Thebes in Greece. While initially considered a minor constituent, further research revealed this to possess important pharmacological activities of its own. Chemical Properties and Structure of Thebaine This is a pale yellow, crystalline powder that is weakly alkaline and sparingly soluble in water and acid solutions. Chemically, it is an opium alkaloid derived from the glutamic acid pathway, with the chemical formula C19H21NO3. This contains a bicyclic octahydroisoquinoline skeleton with a phenanthrene group. It closely resembles both codeine and oripavine in structure, differing mainly by substitution of various methyl and hydroxyl groups around the phenanthrene core. This lacks the methoxy group in position C6 that gives codeine its agonist effects, but contains the 3-hydroxy group found in oripavine derivatives. Due to its unique structure, this serves as a key biochemical intermediate in the biosynthesis of several important opioids. Uses of Thebaine While this itself has only weak opioid activity, it represents an important starting material in the semi-synthetic production of several potent analgesic drugs. Oxycodone, oxymorphone, nalbuphine, naloxone and naltrexone are all synthesized from this. In particular, this is essential for the commercial manufacture of oxycodone, one of the most widely prescribed opioid painkillers. The US pharmaceutical industry consumes approximately 80 metric tons of this annually for this purpose. Its extraction from natural opium is not economically viable, so it is instead obtained from cultivated Papaver bracteatum or Papaver somniferum varieties that are selectively bred to accumulate higher levels over morphine. Southeast Asian countries are major legal producers and suppliers of this to drug makers globally. Thebaine and Regulation Given its strategic role in the synthesis of potent controlled prescription opioids, its production and trade are tightly regulated. It is specifically named along with morphine, codeine and other opiates in international drug control agreements like the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. However, as a precursor its legal status is somewhat less restrictive than finished drugs. While subject to import/export authorizations between countries, commercial firms can acquire this if they hold valid processing licenses from drug authorities. Its regulated availability is critical for the opioid pharmaceutical sector. Nonetheless, diversion remains a concern and there have been reports of this being misused for illicit opioid synthesis in clandestine labs, posing new safety and law enforcement challenges.

Anon said: How are you just like "Oh these are just some warm up sketches" and post a full finished piece, while I'm over here sketching a triangle person and calling it a finished piece.
I dunno if this was a legit question asking for a legit answer, but I do happen to have a legit answer so I might as well give it! If I wanted to go into detals with it it’d take me forever though, so allow me to separate it into two points to make it easier
I learnt how to be very fast in putting down my lines and trained myself into not overthinking every single dot I put down. This took about five or six years of drawing daily and a whole life of drawing occasionally before then, because to do so you need to reach a point where you’re drawing something you’ve drawn so many times that by now your hand sort of goes without you needing to think about it much, so it’s not a fast process, but boy is it worth it. Mostly learning how to not overthink it, overthinking it used to be 90% of my time spent on a drawing and dear god did it suck the joy out of everything I drew
I have two very distinctive ways of approaching a drawing, one where I actually put effort in it and the other where I just want to let the squiggles out of my pen, and warm ups are the second one - the lack of effort I’m putting in can have different forms and show in different ways, so a warm up could be a fully colored piece as it could be just a pencil doodle, depending on where and on what exactly I’m being lazy: it could be the type of tool I’m using that allows me to draw without having to line, it could be a very tiny canvas that lets me avoid a ton of details a big canvas would demand. I might be cutting the time I usually put in making sure my anatomy is correct, I might be using a shading technique that takes a tenth of the time my usual one would, I might be using a style that’s just easier and faster to draw, or drawing characters I’ve drawn a trillion times in extremely generic poses and clothes. There’s a lot of things that I can do to make things faster for me! It’s skills you gain as you draw a lot - you learn how to draw things the hard way, and then you realize that along the way you learnt how to do them the easy way too
hope this actually answers your question! If it was a question at all lol if it wasn’t then sorry for rambling, please pretend I didn’t say anything hahaha
Anon said: I love your newest comic!!! So adorable!! I noticed Bakugou's mom does the affectionate hair rustle thing to him in the manga/anime, do you think Bakugou subconsciously does the same to show affection cause of it? I love the way you draw faces and poses, it's so expressive!!
Ahhhhh thank you so much!!! And yeah, it might be! After all we do take a lot from the people we live with even without realizing, and he’s already so similar to his mom!
Anon said: I saw your bakushima comic from October 9th (2019) where Bakugo falls asleep studying and Kirishima sets him down on the table properly and it was so soft my heart is crying
;;;;; !!!!!!!! I’m glad you liked it!! <3<3
Anon said: If it not to much, could I possibly get a Ochamina doodle pls? I just love some sweet lesbeans 👉👈
Awww I’m not taking requests right now, but I’ll keep it in mind for next time I want to doodle and don’t know what!
Anon said: I love your art! I envy you.
Please don’t! There’s a lot of reasons why being me isn’t a lot of fun - if it’s just my skill you envy, then all you gotta do is draw a lot!
Anon said: i just went through your entire kiribaku tag and omg it was beautiful seeing the progression in your art skills but still keeping the same funny/cute/heartwarming/etc traits you thought up for their dynamic!! i hope that makes sense haha !! love your art keep it up
It does make sense!!! Thank you so much both for looking through the whole tag and for thinking so, it means a lot to me!! ;;; <3<3
Anon said: Hey fran! I hope you're doing well(especially with quarantine and all)!! I really love your anatomy and how fluid and stylistic it can be! It's super fun to look at! I wanted to ask you if you ever did any in depth studies on anatomy? Like muscles and bones. I've heard a lot of artists mention the necessity of studying bones/muscles, i'd really like to know your opinion on the subject
Ahhh god thank you so much!! And... hmm let’s see if I can word this properly and have it make sense - always keeping in mind that this is just my opinion, of course!
If all you want to do is to draw, then all you need to do is to pick up your pencil and draw - it’s really that easy as far as I’m concerned. You don’t need to know anatomy in depth to just draw, everyone has seen a person, everyone knows how a person looks. That is, if all you want to do is to draw for the sake of drawing. If you want to draw an anatomically correct looking human being, though, you do need to know how anatomy works - and the deeper you’ll go into studying it the more correct your people will look. It’s kind how everyone can draw a bicycle, but if you want to draw a realistic bicycle you’re gonna need to look up references for it, you know? It’s all on the level at which you’re interested in drawing, the more technically skilled you want to be the more you’ll have to study
As for my personal experience with this, I hate studying with a passion. Studying puts a damper on my enjoyement of everything, and drawing isn’t excluded from this - you put a book in front of me expecting me to study it and suddenly I never want to pick up a pencil again. This means that I never sat down and studied anatomy in depth and all in one go just to learn how to draw a human being, but it doesn’t mean that I didn’t, slowly and now and again and in bits and pieces, study parts of the body to get a better understanding of it. I know better about the skeleton than I do about muscles, and I still have enough to learn about everything that anyone who’s studied anatomy properly would find a trillion mistakes in everything I draw, but my way of going about drawing has always been and always will be putting my enjoyement of it first and foremost, so I’m not interested in putting myself through a tour-de-force to learn everything there is to know about anatomy just to make my doodles look appealing to someone with a medical degree haha I’m just doing me, and when the mood is right I look up how to properly draw something, but until then I just do it as best as I can with my limited knowledge, being fully aware that what I’m producing is far from accurate but being willing to make that compromise for my own comfort
So that’s my opinion on it lol it all boils down to how important it is for you to know how to properly draw the human body - of course it’s gonna look more professional and better if you’ve studied it, but everyone has their own priorities, you know?
Anon said: Thank you for your hard work, seeing an upload from you is so nice, and the colors are so pretty
Thank you so muuuuccchhhhh!!!! TTATT <3<3<3
Anon said: Opinions on Tokoyami Fumikage 💕
One of my top faves in the whole manga, actually! I have a drawing in the making of him, I should get back to it..........
Anon said: HOLY SHIT FRAN THE TOES HOW YOU DRAW THE TOES SO WELL FEET ARE THE DEATH OF ME AND YOU’RE OVER HERE DRAWING TOES THEY’RE SO GOOD PLEASE TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!!! -❤️
Thank you!!!!!!!! So pretty much my way of learning this specific skill was being obsessed with elves when I was fifteen and wanting to draw them all the time  and also for whatever reason being convinced that they were not supposed to wear shoes so I just drew a lot of feet with references and tutorials and stuff till I could draw my elves properly. Which isn’t necessarily what you need to do to learn how to draw feet, but, I mean, it worked for me lol
Anon said: I love ur Bnha ships and all but what would u do if some of them didn’t become canon??
Oh, I actually don’t care about that at all? I don’t expect most of them to become canon anyway - like, ochadeku sounds reasonable and kamijirou seems to be getting there, but everything else I never even considered it as an actual possibilily. I don’t really ship because I want to see my ships become canon, I just like the potential in what I can make with them? If that makes sense? They’re just fun to think about and I like making fancontent, that’s all there is to it really haha honestly if I had my way no ship would ever be canon ever ha ha ha
Anon said: Slep is for the wek
No actually sleep is for Frans who want a chance at getting up tomorrow morning without an headache for once, so I should do that and go to sleep already lmao

The Man Was A Superstar
Sally Brown sat in the back of a cab from the airport in Austin.  Her only baggage a big runaway purse filled with enough cash from her last heist in Vegas to get her home.  The next distraction in her life was going to be where the weather and food matched.  She imagined her skeletons would also be happy to see her.
There weren’t as many places to hide in Austin, even though Vegas had more cameras.  It was easy to hide when the costume was basic white girl tourist by day and by night.  That didn’t work in Austin.  She’d stick out.  No stealing bicycles.  Only cars.
He came to her in a dream.  It was the first dream she remembered in months.  They were in the apartment where her best friend in high school lived across from an ACC campus.  Someone had died, and they were standing in the living room.  It was still 1992 but they were full grown adults, re-creating a memory that never faded.  No one wanted to talk or do anything.  He brought up a pipe and some foil and smoked heroin right in front of her.  Then he walked away.  At seventeen that was a sexy scene.  Now it was another Friday night.
Sally wanted to feel that unchaperoned feeling again with somebody.  His costume -- failed Austin musician who had to run side jobs because music never paid.  He had a modicum of local fame, which was what every guy in that town dreamed of at least once in his life.  She had him.  He was a superstar, even if she was the only one who knew it.  He’d been the first.
“It’s after this next stop sign,” she said, leaning toward the driver.
His body shop was in the woods behind her old neighborhood.   It was the middle of what seemed like nowhere, but only until the trees hit the ground, then it would be different.  She used to take walks, boys, and bottles of Boone’s Farm and a joint or two and pretend to feel grown up.  The need to reconnect with him left a thought in her head that she needed a second chance.
The driver put it in park.  “Forty-five even,” he said.
Sally gave him a hundred dollar bill.  “Back up and go around the corner.  Face north and wait for me there.”
She got out of the cab and walked along the fence.  She watched the cab driver ready himself the way she asked.  Even if he took off, it didn’t matter.  Those woods were no problem.
Sally checked herself, ready for anything. She crept up to the back door of the auto shop office.  Door didn't open, lights were off inside.  If he was anything like she remembered, there’d be a ton of goodies inside.
She grabbed a tire iron and broke the glass to the door.  No siren, no problem.  Nothing but junk posing as functional equipment.  She let herself in and used the flashlight on her phone to see what she could.  There were business cards on the counter, which she found very funny, nice touch for a fence.  That authenticity.
Kenny Lastname, co-owner.  Karen Matthis-Lastname, co-owner.
Karen?  Who's Karen?  When did he get marr…
“Hey, who the fuck are you?” asked an angry voice behind her.
Sally went from seventeen back to reality in a snap.  She gripped the tire iron and nailed him once in the head and chest, all she needed to get him out of her way and back to the cab.
“Go, go, go…”
The driver looked in his blind spot and went on Congress back toward town.
“Where to now?” he asked.
She laid the tire iron on her lap, rubbed her eyes. "Any place to stay that’s cheap,” Sally said.  She wondered if Kenny's wife was going to be an issue at their upcoming reunion.

Ode
More than more is what I want of every fashion, hue, and temper--- The clefts of timbered oak stumps or berries spied in passing through a  Glen---then the bright-lit path of dust-and-pebble ground, Fine as a lady wreathed in spur and the august alpine spruce, a Goddess;
And O Lord there is One, worthy of fame, her skin radiant with the Source Of all that is good & of the Earth, the Soil inhabited by the Flux and growth of Time, and of men’s hands gripping Ax and Rope To erect their dwellings in Her breast. One, Whom I talked to about the stars and goofed about their purports--- Stone hoisted atop stone and the sedimentary layer and the peat heft Of bone in the garden, and it was I who walked atop them, perched like An acrobat who had never wavered despite the vertigo, and I saw tumbling The myriad golden shafts of Sun---
One, beneath every stream and venerable pile of leaves, every City, Temple, Order, & Music---
All temples, every sign, most saints and poets, wrought their stuff of You. And it was glorious because they made You glorious, dawn-wreathed,  Magic---even the magic of the tomb and cauldron, woodrot and weevil--- All women and all children, all workers and all masters, all tendrils, roots and Weeds; looms, spindles, & the leatherwork from which is fashioned all drums, Beating the heart of You;
With what words should I choose to praise You and supplicate myself, Contorting the wind to break against you my hollow syllables,  Newspaper editorials, pundit’s remarks, preacher’s ramifications,  Effortless words of young men weak in every sense but self. Or is that the sacred wood, the haunted barrow, the twinge Of bow and arrow, stalk and Cypraid? Do the Cavil who overrun You And the dead who return to You a doom or boon to You?
I grouse upon the heap of books, peculiar skeleton of history,  Thinking over You, pictures of men in poses of finality And wrest nothing but the vanity of all purpose---please tell me; Answer my lovelorn prayer---do I cart You with attendants so The throngs might hear? Break their backs with You? I would burn every incense, invite to me every home And town councilmember, hoist many frames and  Work myself in every way, or become lonely and aloof, Plying solitudes for You like fishermen the Depths, or else--- Immerse myself in crowds, yell like the dickens and harangue At every square, become every man or every woman, every boy or girl, And enjoin myself to men on foot, or on bicycle, or public bus And gas station, all professions, every atom, and accelerated proton;
And the words will Flow from me volubly until they reach You,  And I will thrust and dodge and argue nothing and repeat and  Follow back the same roads until I am good and worn and my Muscles hard and knotted like polished pine, and my heart breaks And my wisdom shone to be a mirage, the sleeves of my good  Shirts stained, and I am no more.
