Thinking back, I’m pretty sure that the main reason I always found predator so appealing as soon as both of them were introduced, is that both of their designs are perfect for the gothic aesthetic (blue and purple hues?) and that just fitted more with their respective themes (moon? poisonous plants?) and dueling archetypes.

And I love gothic aesthetic.

i'm gonna be honest, i wanted to do a cute fanart of yurisere but at the same time i was "what if i do a drawing of how i think that is their relationship" that would be funny right (spoiler: isn't, but i like how it turn out)

i can see them as a couple, but also as really good friends-- their interactions in most of the fanfics are really funny

Summary: Serena's orchid is starting to brown so she seeks a plant expert's advice.

Serena scowled down at the plant.

It had dark spots on its leaves, and it didn't matter how much water she gave it either. She knew that it was dying and that she couldn't revive it. Serena didn't have the ability.

But, truly, she didn't want to lose it. It was so pretty and purple, and she had grown rather attached to it.

She sighed. It was undeniable, but she had to talk to Yuri. He was the plant expert after all. And, he did undeniably have a green thumb.

Her throat swelled as she walked towards his office with the stained plant clutched in her hands.

After all this time, she didn't even know if she liked him. But he was her superior so it didn't matter. She had known him forever.

At her approach, he looked up from his desk. She saw that he was engrossed while studying a map.

"Yes, Serena?"

"My flower has a problem."

He smirked. "When did you start growing flowers, Serena?"

"Last year, but it's not going well."

She placed the ruined plant on his desk.

"Where do you keep this orchid?" he asked bemusedly.

"In a sunny window," she replied automatically.

"So you keep it in direct sunlight?"

She blinked. "Yes."

Weren't you supposed to? Plants enjoyed sunlight. She knew that much.

Yuri shook his head. "Orchids don't enjoy direct sunlight they prefer indirect sunlight The leaves are burned because the sun is burning them. Orchids are delicate beauties, Serena."

She inspected it. "Oh."

He kept staring at her.

"I'll move the plant right away."

There. The dreaded conversation was done.

"You know, I just noticed that this orchid is the same color as your hair," Yuri said out of the blue.

She stared at him. Her mind blanked.

Had he just complimented her hair?

It what an odd thing to say for Yuri to say, and Serena could feel her heart literally rattle when he actually touched her hair.

"You should stay for tea. I have Matcha tea and some other herbal varieties. Even cherry blossom."

It was going to be spring soon so of course he would have cherry blossom. A cup of that pink tea was actually tempting...

But, no. It was the wrong time.

"I have other assignments to complete," she said.

In all truth, they could have been delayed, but in all truth, she didn't want to hang around not with him for too long.

Yet, someday she could foresee having a cup of tea with him, but she was far from a psychic. Of course he could always demand that she stay. However, he didn't. Not today.

"But thank you for your invitation." She bowed her head respectfully.

Serena turned to walk away.

"If you want more tips on how to keep flowers, you know where to find me," Yuri said.

Was Yuri actually offering help?

She nodded again while suppressing a tremor. She pressed the orchid pot close to her chest.

"Thank you, Yuri."

Sometimes, she felt that it was as if they had a bond between them in other lifetimes and universes. She felt that way sometimes, but there was no outlet for it. Perhaps no one else didn't even suspect it. Or, maybe Serena was wrong, and this world was the only one that existed.

Even if could have told him her suspicions, she knew that he probably didn't share her views. It was dangerous to reveal such bizarre notions.

It was hardly a surprise that such a complicated plant attracted a complicated person. No wonder Yuri liked orchids.

And of course complicated relationships.

@arcvmonth Day 23: Back At Class, They Never Taught A Thing

Gah, I haven't been able to find much time to put into arc v month for the last two weeks, but I'm trying my best! Slowly!

So, I went into watching Arc V after not really liking ygo in my childhood, so I had no idea of anything that happened in the previous series going into it. I had no idea why Obelisk Force was called that, nor what the colors meant with the Academia students.

That is, when I got to the end of my Arc V rewatch late last year, and was recommended to watch GX by an IRL friend who's also into ygo. While I still have yet to finish it (I'm around halfway through year 2) I can happily say I know enough about Slifer/Osiris Red, Ra Yellow and Obelisk Blue to say that Serena probably wasn't great at studying while at the Academy.

I know we don't really see a lot of interaction between Joeri and Serena throughout Arc V, but I imagine theyd study together. Or they'd see one another studying and go and harass the other when theyre bored.
