One of the first ideas a lot of people have is to use an additional video output as a duplicate or mirror of the main one you're already sending. If you've only got one projector or television, you might wonder how you'll send that output to two places instead of one. How do you get the output of your worship software into your switcher or encoder? Before, it was just turning the camera, but now it's more complicated.įirst, let's look at the video switcher solution, since in some ways, that's the easiest problem to solve. Let's assume you've already got PowerPoint, Keynote, ProPresenter, Proclaim, Easy Worship, MediaShout, or any of the other presentation software packages, whether secular or church-focused, running to a projector or other display for your in-person congregation to see. As you click on a library you can search that library and then when you click on your playlist the items in that list are what you will see. We will also have the ability to have different information displayed on the rear wall for our praise team. I’m really looking forward to using prop layers for logos and other overlays on the screen. ProPresenter has really become the market leader balancing both ease of use with tons of power. So we have chosen to go with ProPresenter 5 running on a 27″ iMac computer.

Unfortunately, Easyworship seems to have stalled in development, with the planned 2010 update still not on the market. We finally are upgrading our computer and software to allow us to do even more with our video system. We started using Easyworship running on a used PC we bought for $300 five years ago.

We project song lyrics, testimonies, photos, video clips, and even occasionally live video. Video has been an integral part of our church services for the last six years.

While this will not produce true “HD” results, you’ll be able to properly project content that has been created for widescreen (which is pretty much everything these days). The key is to stay aligned with the 16:9 ratio to avoid distortion. Or if your projector’s native resolution is 1024×768, you would keep your width at 1024 and adjust your height to 576. For example, if your projector’s resolution is 1280×1024, you would keep your width at 1280 pixels, but change your height to 720 pixels. Your church’s projector may not have widescreen (16:9) functionality, but you can get the look by simply shortening your output in ProPresenter’s Display Preferences.
