May I ask what device and program you use for drawing?

Hello there!

Thank you for asking. I have received a few asks like this in my inbox, so I’ll just reply here! (more under the cut!)

For what I use to draw, I used to use a Huion HS64, but now I’m using a Huion Kamva Pro 16!

I occasionally draw on my iPad (I don’t even know what model it is anymore, so don’t bother asking me for it lmao—) and a stylus, but I use my display tablet for most of my actual works.

As for the program, I switch between IbisPaintX and Clip Studio Paint depending on what I’m doing. If I have a vague idea of a scene that I really want for a piece, or if it’s relatively simple enough to do.

But it’s always the same combo, so it’s either IbisPaintX with my old device, or Clip Studio Paint with my drawing tablet.

These are some of the pieces I’ve made on ibisPaintX:

But most of my work is done on CSP (Clip Studio Paint) just because

a.) My iPad is so old that it just can’t handle a bunch of layers. I also don’t really like using ibis paint for anything other than sketching and/or solid coloring because I rely heavily on the magic wand and lasso tool to make my work easier, but it’s kind of wonky on there lol.

b.) Since my drawing tablet has some texture on the screen that promotes friction, it feels nicer to draw on as opposed to the slippery (and cracked) glass of my old device.

All of Viorel’s sprites, and requests from tumblr a few months ago, were sketched and/or finished on CSP with the Kamva 16. This includes the sketch requests I’ve posted within the past week.

It’s actually also pretty convenient since Clip Studio and Ibis have collaborated(?) so you can upload your drawings from ibisPaint to your Clip Studio cloud and have the layers and stuff preserved. So that’s cool.

They also both have recording features that allows you to make a time lapse for your drawing process which is fun to look at haha
