Welcome to another installation of, “Certain TWST Characters as Ben&Ben Muses!”

Third is Jamil Viper with “Doors”

Additional lyrics:

Time won’t heal anything

If you don’t surrender your lies

Falling in love with him is difficult.

At this point, you’re not sure if you’ve ever loved him, or the persona that he simply kept to please others.

You thought that he was simply mysterious, another person that would eventually open up once someone had pushed just enough to wedge their foot in his door—

And you’re so close.

So close to being invited into his world, but he has yet to let you in.

So many versions of him live on— in your mind, and in the present. The Jamil that exists in potions, choosing to step back and let his partner do all the work, yet mumbling about all the things they’re doing wrong.

The Jamil in front of Azul. The ever so careful, guarded, version of him; denying all the claims made against him for his “innocence” or “naïveté.”

The Jamil in front of Leona and Ruggie. The one that’s almost obedient, purposively feigns simplicity and docility to make sure that no conflict arises that may attract an audience.

The Jamil in front of Kalim. Attendant of the first-born Al-Alsim. The one that nags, yet still takes care of him—helping him in anyway possible, and doing whatever is asked of him with minimal fuss. The occasional scolding only barely thrown in as well.

If all of those facets of Jamil exists, then who is the Jamil in your presence? Simply another one of those that adapt accordingly to whomever he talks to?

Or is it the real him, rid of the titles associated with him, and the fear of recognition or possible attention from anyone other than you?

He allows you to stay by his side, but never asks for you to remain there. He provides you with model answers to your questions, compliments that seem more like statements to appease your distress to keep the attention off of you, and smiles that seem so…limited.

You’ll never know what to do until he learns that, even if hasn’t opened up now, you’ll wait for however long it will take until the barrier between you disappears. Until he learns to step into the light. Until he learns to open his doors for you.

Unfortunately, I did not quite like how this turned out but I needed to get this one out today. I still have a few more projects to work on academically, but I thought this would be…an interesting one to post first. For now though, I’ll keep my thoughts on the music and how it defines him on hold until I can get some rest :,))))

As always, I’d recommend actually listening to the songs just to get a feel for it. This song is all in English, so it should be relatively more easy to understand WKDKWKDK WKFKEKD

Next up for the, “Certain TWST Characters as Ben&Ben Muses,” we have Idia!

Second is Idia Shroud with “Hummingbird”

Idia doesn’t know much of anyone else outside his circle of online friends and those a part of his “inner circle.” He’s never felt the need to, and yet somehow, in your own, “normie” way, you’ve managed to weasel yourself into his mind without having to put forth any effort.

He especially doesn’t like people like you. You’re such a busy-body, and you always seem so happy hanging around your newly-gained friends and helping anyone around. Like a hummingbird whose wings never seem to be able to rest, he ends up being one of the flowers you flock to regularly as well.

He doesn’t need it.

Doesn’t need your help.

Your pity.

Your attention.

‘It’s annoying. I can’t get anything done with you here, all you do is you drain me of all my energy.’ That’s what he wants to say so badly, and yet he can’t because at the same time, he doesn’t want to deny himself of the fluttering feelings he feels inside his chest whenever you’re around.

So when your presence suddenly evades all his senses, although he so badly wished for you to leave him be, he somehow can’t help but feel regret. Whether it be for what he has done, or hadn’t done at all, he still can’t quite tell. You left, you didn’t want to get in his way, after all. Still, he can’t seem, to let go of you.

Thank you for reading and seeing the 2nd installation of this short series. I don’t think I’ll be covering all of the TWST characters, but I shall be covering at least 4, and at the very most 8.

I feel like this song reminds me of Idia the most just because I can imagine how different this song could be from him, but also how similar it is. The composition is simple, yet complex as it changes tempo later on. Much like Idia as we see more and more of him, our perception changing as the story progresses.

Like a hummingbird, although he claims to hate “busy-bodied people,” he himself is rather flighty and can’t seem to relax. Always doing something, tinkering away at gadgets, upgrading his personal belongings, mashing buttons on his controller, playing board games for the club, fulfilling (or at least, somewhat) his role as Ignihyde’s Dorm Leader/Housewarden…

And the simplicity of the instruments in the song. A lot of this band’s songs are more acoustic or “natural” when it comes to their instruments, an electric guitar riff here and there with that classic wide distortion, yet that seems to take a backseat here. Opting for a more calmer, and almost “jazz-like” style instead. Something that almost sounds like the opposite of our tech savvy character.

One possible art series I’ll work on is “Certain TWST Characters as Ben&Ben Muses!” I wanted to do this just because it seemed like an interesting concept.

These, artistically, aren’t going to be the best because they’ll just be doodles wkfkwkdke it was just an idea that stuck to me because I like their songs, and some of the situations that are described sound appropriate for certain characters.

So…yeah.

First up is Deuce Spade with “Upuan”

Rough English translation:

“In just one look from you, I have nothing more to talk about

In just one look from you, I fall from my seat

In just one look from you, in my mind, I’m so certain

In just one look from you, all I can do is settle with that.”

I feel like this character is the type to fall in love silently, but not discreetly haha.

He ends up liking someone he admires, someone he can learn from. He wants to learn more about the lesson from them, and, in turn, more about them personally. Subconsciously, he hangs onto every word they say, allowing himself to come closer and closer until he finds himself falling off of his seat in his efforts to do so.

He dusts himself off, brushing off their worries with an ‘I’m fine,’ but not without a soft pink dusting his cheeks as he tries to remember what it was you were just talking about. He should be focusing on tomorrow’s History exam, he just knows Trein will be upping the ante, and he was too distracted during his class to rely on stock knowledge. That’s why he asked for their help in the first place. Yet as he quickly seats himself back down on his chair, scooting it a little closer to them as he does so, he wonders if by sitting so close, they’ll end up growing closer too.

Thank you for reading this far, and I’d recommend listening to the music if you’d like! I wouldn’t say the future songs, including this one, are my “favorite” from the band, but they are the ones I like a lot.

This one was one of their more wholesome songs, and I think the instrumentalisation fits Deuce a lot. It’s refreshing, reminds you so much of the comfortable spring breeze, yet there’s grit in the percussion and acoustic guitars throughout prominent parts of the song. Reminding you of his bouts of his tough and occasionally abrasive personality that slips every now and then that contribute to who he is in the present….

hello! i’m planing a twst oc and your templates have been super helpful! may i ask what fonts you used to fill out the sample with you oc’s info? they look very pretty! thanks!😊💕

Hello, Anon!! Thank you for thinking so, and my deepest apologies for the late reply, however the fonts that I used for the main information on my Templates are the "Malayalam Regular" on ClipStudio Paint!!

I think the "Devanagari" variations are also pretty similar in style, so I think that should work too!!

If you’re using IbisPaintX, “Hoefler Text” (closest) and “Kefa Regular” should work just fine!! Anything that’s a bit skinny with a serif is your best bet, at least for my templates ヾ(｀・ω・´)ノ
